I did the math on this weapon.

This gun fires 5 beams at once. Each beam all together does 40 damage normally, nothing really terribly useful. But mine is bleed. With bleed, EACH SINGLE SHOT does ~165~ damage.

Then, make it fully automatic. Even with obscene recoil, theoretically this weapon can do 4,950 damage in a single fusion cell if every beam hits an enemy. Jesus.

Keeping this thing down during the ludicrous recoil is doable, but its harder than keeping the minigun in Planetside 2 on target.

This guns really only useful against larger enemies actually, its overkill on small things and normal sized enemies, but nice for instant killing some of the larger enemies like Deathclaws, Behemoths...I wonder how DLC will deal with guns like this, only way they can do it is give enemies 10,000 health or some shit.

Anyways, I built a tower at The Castle but now some of my settlers hang there all day and don't do shit. The people there also complain about not having enough beds, even though they have 37 for 23 people.

I don't mind them doing shit because the actual productivity remains unchanged, but The Castle's taking a happiness hit because of the beds.

A laser powerful enough to blow a hole in someone still has fuck all recoil as it isn't a projectile. The damage is done when the energy vaporizes the surface of the target where it hits so fast that the expansion is explosive. The pressure from that event radiates in all directions, satisfying conservation of momentum. It's like how the recoil from an RPG isn't equivalent to the force of the missile exploding, because the nature of the transfer of the destructive energy is fundamentally different to a conventional ballistic weapon.

Industrial lasers used for cutting metal are in a similar power ballpark, and their recoil is likewise almost unmeasurable.

Lasers of that power would produce a noticeable crack sound on firing though as any dust caught in the beam gets fried. You might get some ionization of the air too, but that's generally avoided as much as possible as it makes the air comparatively opaque which fucks up your effective range.

Spouse companion would be in a DLC, but it wouldn't be the sole focus of a DLC.

Enclave DLC, but the Enclave wouldn't be portrayed a outright bad guys, but instead we'd get to see both the good and bad sides of them, such as how reuniting and rebuilding the U.S.A. Is a good and noble goal, but the methodolgy of the Enclave can be morally questionable, or outright bad at times.

Some sort of lovecraftian DLC. The idea that Atom would be the BBEG of that was brought up in the last thread was interesting, so let's go with that.

Pre-War DLC maybe, using the memory den, but that would really only work for peopke who play as nate, unless people want to play as a pre-war lawyer. which actually could be interesting, like law and order in the future 1950s

And a DLC that expands settlement building, allowing you to remove all the piles of dirt and other trash lying around that you currently can't scrap, and walls, floors and roofs in the style of those from before the war, so people can finally really rebuild pre war commonwealth, instead of putting up a bunch of sheet metal and calling it a "house"

I've never really bothered with disguises in NV until now, so I'm not entirely sure if what's happening to me is a bug or not. Basically after completing Ghost Town Gunfight and becoming vilified with the powder gangers, I put on one of their outfits to make approaching their camps to wipe them out a bit easier. Worked fine the first time, but after that even if I take off the outfit and put it back on, all powder gangers now see through the disguise immediately. I'm talking about the generic ones, not the named ones.

Is there some kind of cooldown if you get witnessed being a dick while disguised?

Everything but the beard will be easy, the beard will be easy in a few months when the GECK and a bunch of hair and beard mods/ports from skyrim are out. You can't make your character short from character creation but you can use setscale in the console. The player character is slightly taller than everyone else by default for some reason. I want to say it's because they're pre-war and humans are shorter than they were then because of horrible living conditions and prolonged exposure to background radiation, but it's more likely something like Bethesda wanting the player to feel like a big guy.
