holy cow, I just used up all my caps opening the backpacks that I saved up last week and still got like half of the backpacks I saved up. I get 100 to 250 yellow sparks instead of 20 to 50 before the patch.

I just unlocked the preview for all the classes and I'm liking knight, alchemist and lightbringer, is leveling up those 3 viable? Yesterday there was a guy that was saying that leveling some tank class and then a dps one is different than leveling dps and then tank because of temple or something like that so now I'm really confused about the class system and viability.

Pub groups are generally slower and can take a while to find a match. They can be extremely fast if you go Alch and the dps know what they're doing, but generally that's not the case.

Soloing isn't necessary, but if you have a good build it can be so much faster than pubbing. Although RIP Kinetic and his 3:30 completions of most maps.

Paladin shield protects lets say small numbers, 20 hp, and then the lightbinder one gives 30. You now have a shield value of 50. if you get hit for 40 hp. you still have both buffs on yourself, but your value is just 10

Build is pretty much just >>124098603, although the plasma range is very optional and a few other talents aren't set in stone. Valor + Strength build, there are a few different choices of weapons.

All you do is go into missile mode, use the extra missiles 2 and hold leftclick with a few mine rings interspersed.

Is it Sledge? Not quite. A high prestige (and thus high symbol-count) Kinetic could kill bosses in a single sledge burst. A high prestige gunner can kill bosses in a single missile sequence. But there are a few key differences, two of the biggest are:
-Kinetic burst takes about 5 seconds, whereas Gunner takes about 15, so not only is/was kinetic faster, but it has/had better synergy with short-duration buffs.
-Kinetic burst was available every 30 seconds on the dot, Gunners take substantially longer to re-arm their missile count (unless they get an execute or two in).

Shitters don't understand the concept of total group damage and instead just want to see big numbers on their personal score card.

Damage you inflict to a VC is not added to your own Mark of Death, since it technically didn't damage the boss. However, when a VC pops, its damage is added to the witch's Mark of Death. Since VC deals more damage than it takes to break, the only reason not to VC is if your witch doesn't have as many Mark of Death nodes as the rest of your DPS.

So apparently they nerfed the class spark you get too, now when i kill the bosses in isola digs i get 2 sparks per kill as opposed to 7-10 i used to get befor the patch. I don't know if i want to continue playing this game anymore.

Actually, they made it so that if you're way over the prestige level of whatever you're killing, you get reduced rewards, to a minimum of one. Since golden age adds 100% gain, you get 2. Now that golden age has ended, you'll only get one. Go out and play normally. It's actually good that they do this, it solves high prestige players messing with lowbies.

Mine Ring increases accuracy which benefits from high Strength. It's not huge especially considering it's not that difficult to cap on Accuracy, but without any sort of bonus to crit Strength is probably better consistent damage than Luck anyway.

I don't know what places you buy your hardware at, but I got mine directly from the manufacturer.

Also I'm not the only one with the problem and I found a workaround by disabling the interface sounds.

Because Cryo was very strong and then they buffed it.

Cryo has tons of sources of damage, but your two primary ones will be Whiteout and the buffed right-click damage from the Cryocharge talent (if you're lucky enough to crit Cryobeam).

The combo is pretty easy:
-Charge a right-click and wait for buffs.
-Once buffed, release right-click, cast Whiteout, then Cryobeam
-If you got Cryocharge, right-click twice
-Then channel Jagged Ice

Even though Whiteout's damage is done over 14 seconds, it snapshots the buffs, so it ends up doing crazy-high damage even to single targets. The Cryocharged right-clicks do absurd damage if they crit. Like two bars of a solo boss each.

Combo's cooldown is 45 seconds which goes well with Alch stims. You can pretty much do whatever while combo is down as long as you save enough Cryogen to combo again (takes pretty much your full bar).

You should almost always be doing bonus objectives. They increase your regular rewards by 30% and with very few exceptions (such as bad cache maps or Finishing Blows on extremely small maps), they do not add anywhere near 30% more time. If you're frequently getting S rank then Particles of Mastery will be the fist thing you cap.

Symbols shouldn't be that complicated. Most symbols are damage-oriented so a tank has a lot of room to work with.

Highest priority should be Spirit Symbols: Double Discharge, Impulse Barrier especially. Valor symbols eventually.

Witch symbol will be great. It adds a steady source of damage for all classes.

Most of the defensive symbols like Defensive Reflex and Balance are pretty weak/conditional. Inertia can be good for certain telegraphs, but it's often overkill with Clever Maneuver.

PvE in this game would actually be pretty solid if ALL attacks were able to be dodged. If it was possible to solo 5mans in this game, but it was "super hard™" like dark souls, it would actually be pretty interesting.

Dodging just feels fucking useless in this game, with all the homing unavoidable bullshit.

TERA honestly has a combat system closer to dark souls than this game. 99% of attacks ARE dodge-able in that game. You just have very limited dodges making it feel like shit.

Not that I'm defending the poorly-worded OP, but that was probably written from the context of a non-tank playing in group content. In solo play it might be annoying to have unblockable auto-attacks (that are calculated before they're animated, completely negating counter-play) wrecking your shit such that you literally cannot beat a certain boss on the difficulty you're on at the prestige you're on, but that kind of thing disappears pretty quick when you get things like Pally symbol and better damage.

If you're a genuine new player who is being deterred by this, I will say that high-level gameplay is, indeed, revolved around coordination and dodging telegraphs (which while individually pretty easy can get very hectic in busy 10-mans). The primary problems this game has are not the complexity of the end-game gameplay, but the amount of grind and wait you have to endure to get there and have to continue enduring even once you're there.

When I play Knight, honestly, what wrecks my shit most is Lightbinder. Not on their own, but combo'd with a good dps. And obviously Archer can shred a Knight in a group, but 1v1, Knight will usually wreck archer's shit (and the same is true, to a lesser extent, of all DPS).

If you're 1v1, Monk can probably work with the nerf to Unshakeable. And an Alchemist with all his cooldowns is annoying as fuck.

End game is absolutely fantastic. Better-than-WoW-tier. Some of the most complex and coordinated shit I've seen in an MMO.

Most people are put off by the insurmountable grind-walls, and the pay-to-stay-viable shit, though.

Classes i found interesting were the kinetic, berserker, gunner and the paladin so i assume they are the worst in the game soml. No. It's a generic MMORPG with a few gimmicks that trick people into thinking it's inovative in some way.

Combat is as bland as any other tab target mmo.
Class balance is non-existent.
"end-game" is just massive damage sponges with added "dodge the fire" mechanics and retard checks.
"challenging" bosses offer the same challenge as wotlk bosses at best.
Unlocking any of the nice-looking features takes literally months.

I enjoy it, anon. It's the best MMO I've played in the last decade. If you can eat the grind and have some money to spend, it's worth it every day of the week.

Pantheon wars is certainly going to be amusing if you're in one of the core pantheons.

I love the combat, I love the endgame fights, and PvP is improving little by little.

I've been playing since early release and there has yet to be a single moment where I've thought "Damn, I should find another game to play. I'm getting bored."

Patch was great. Game is great. People are great. Arguably, it could just be because I'm a bit drug addled. But I'd like to think it's because it's a good game.

If you're going to play up anything at least play up Gravity Strike which can still one-shot even the toughest group mobs, the two free hamster balls on execute and the 50 second cooldown ult (with purple weapon). Because most DPS classes can kill solo bosses in less than 40 seconds these days.

On the bosses that Kinetic used to kill in 5 seconds, I usually get 12 with gunner and 14 with Cryo, 30 with Witch. But 36 with Kinetic.

Kinetic has a few uses, but his damage difference between new Kinetic and the top dps classes right now is far bigger than the damage difference between old Kinetic and the middle tier of dps classes a week or two ago. More to the point the entire reason Kinetic was so good was because he synergized so well with buffs. But now nobody would buff him so why would you ever pick him? Not for damage, that's for sure.

A new player might certainly find some good use for him in solo play, but they're better off with Cryo.

I tried both and I prefer the way the game looks without AA.

It's weird, but when I turn on AA the game becomes quite blurry for me.

Plus I'm hurting for fps in pvp, so I just keep it off. To be honest when you're playing at 1080p the jagged edges aren't all that noticeable anymore the way they used to be when I was playing on my 21" CRT at 1280x720

So I just unlocked Archer and went through my tree and unlocked a bunch of abilities to use an Argus popped up and said its time to make a decision on which skills to use. So I go to my ability list and theres 3 abilities in one column, the Arrow III ones that let you use tier 3 charge. Its 2/2 and 2 of them are selected already, but I can't deselect one to select the third lightning? How do I switch do an unselected skill in a column if its already 2/2?
