Dominions is a fantasy turn-based strategy game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.

The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.

It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.

Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a strategy game.

Looks like a really cool mod so far.

You said you were going to have a spell which adds a site for these units. Do you know if it's possible to make a site which will disappear eventually? Preferably after a specific number of turns, but a % chance per turn would be better than nothing.

>>124025237
>Also are you giving those flambeau weilders holy pyre? Cause an aoe3 attack on a recruitable unit is cray cray
I don't think units can cast spells, so it shouldn't matter.

Yes, that seems to be the case. It shows up on the recruitment and out-of-battle screens, so it seems to work the same way as Slave Matrix.

>>124026405
>>124026679
No worries, though you might be right about units being able to cast spells.

I'm not sure if either of these commands work for units, but #autospell and #startbattlespell might let a unit 'cast' spells.

The Holy Pyre spell that Flambeau gives doesn't use either method, though.

I'd honestly be a little worried about how strong that is against against undead elites and demons, but that's only really relevant against tartarians, bane lord thugs, and blood summons and those are already cheap/strong enough that a counter existing won't be a problem

Shit firebrands is still pretty damn good for recruitable troops.
>>

So I realize that I've stalled twice in a row.
The first one was because I didn't get back from Thanksgiving as quickly as I'd thought.

The second was because I just forgot to send it the turn. The reason for that is I've been pretty much mentally exhausted dealing with my grandfather's declining health.
I've got the time, but not mental energy to keep up with a game this big and involved.

I'm sorry, but realistically I don't think I'll be able to keep playing this game.
I'm in a pretty solid position, so I'd prefer if I could find a sub rather than setting myself AI, but long term I have to leave the game.
>>
>>124031204
While true aoe attacks on mm3 fliers is still super strong. Raiding with them would be easy as hell
>>
>>124031842
That's why I only gave them to Iceclad. They're going to have a hell of a time fighting in hot weather against even PD since they're size 3.
>>
>>124031842
>Raiding with them would be easy as hell
Raiding with Caelum is already easy as hell.

>>124032125
Not everyone takes heat scales, and there's always winter and Wolven Winter.

At least putting them on iceclad will keep their mobility and numbers down.

I hope you're not making all these units have massive resource costs, some people like sloth and/or have a bad capital position.
>>
>>124032125
Have you figured out how to make the spell that creates the site yet? I thought you could only make new spells that are variable changes of old spells, and I'm not aware of any existing spell that creates a magic site.
>>
>>124032864
>some people like sloth
u wot m8? You pick the negative scales, you don't get the fancy shit reasonably quickly.
>>
>>124033178
Event modding lets you do that and more, and you can make spells trigger events.
>>
>>124032864
>some people like sloth and/or have a bad capital position
I actually made this mod since sloth is such a popular dump stat. Bad capital starts can be prevented by having the admin choose a good map with good fixed starts positions.
>>
>>124033436
Picking production just for cap-only units would be crazy, and some nations have few/no other units which need production.

Making the special cap-only units for EA Panagea cost tons of resources won't make people take production, it'll just make the units unusable.

If you're worried about people recruiting too many give them limited recruitment or make them sacred but please don't make every single one cost like 50 resources, especially for nations which don't use much heavy armor.

>>124033819
I don't mind the better troops using high resources, but it would really suck to have zero units from the mod which are usable without lots of production.
>>
>>124031627
Are you going to be on Steam in around an hour or do you have an e-mail address you can share? I might be interested in subbing for you.
>>
>>124034168

Chinamen are fully transitioned to a gem economy. Their armies are summoned sacred demons, just like Xibalba. What's more, Mictlan is now fucked over (take a look at the army graph posted last thread) which means that the chinamen are about to get 50+ new provinces worth of gem income. IF it's decently site-searched, that's about a half dozen gemgens worth, and easily enough to win the game.
>>
>>124046569
They're not even comparable, dude. The amount of blood that you can pull from provinces is nearly an order of magnitude higher than gem income.
>>
>>124046797
The amount of blood that Xibalba's stuff costs is also more expensive. I'm not saying Xibalba isn't dangerous, but if we just dogpile him then all that will do is give the game to the chinks.

>>
>>124048434
Well, it matters a bit. Certainly, Agartha is more powerful than some of the other nations in play. But gold isn't nearly enough to put Agartha on the same level as the nations with late game gem economies. They aren't even close to the threat that Xibalba and TĂen ChĂ are. I wouldn't bet on them against Kailasa either. Kailasa doesn't seem to have gone full gem yet, and has had some kekworthy results in their attempts at conquering the big-name indie sites of the center, but they have toppest research, and Agartha's research is below some AIs.

I'm abysia, and I've located the throne of winter. If I claim it, will my dominion remain colder forever?
>>
>>124057151
Yes, but the throne also spreads water sites.
>>
>>124057151
If somebody takes it away from you, your dominion will get hotter again if that's what you're worried about. It only makes your dominion colder while you've claimed it.
>>
>>124057229
Wait, thrones spread sites?
>>
>>124058208
Claiming it triggers events spread sites. Other thrones do different things, like causing temporary global darkness or random attacks by wildlife.
>>
>>124058208
The Throne of Winter can randomly cause an event in adjacent provinces that cause a "Frozen Land" site to appear, which makes the land colder and gives 1 water gem. Frozen Lands also have a chance of causing the same event in adjacent province. Though it spreads slowly (only in winter and still relatively unlikely) you'll eventually get several of these sites over the course of the game.
>>
>>124048931
>But gold isn't nearly enough to put Agartha on the same level as the nations with late game gem economies. They aren't even close to the threat that Xibalba and TĂen ChĂ are.
Agartha has 3rd largest gem economy, larger than Tien Chi and still more space to expand underground. That combined with still having gold income is definitely going to put him in the lead if Utterdark lasts.
>>
>>124057229
>>124057482
So even with strong dominion I'll end up with heat 2 everywhere? Or just near the throne?
>>
>>124062272
Your dominion gets cold+1. It changes your base scales to Heat 2. Stuff still has to switch over as it does with seasons and dom related scale change.
>>
>>124062272
Your dominion will move scales towards whatever your 'base scales', so to speak, are at the moment. The stronger your dominion is in a province, the faster it will move those scales. Claiming a throne alters your base scales while it's claimed, so if you started with heat 3 and claim the throne of winer(lowering your base heat scale to 2), your dominion will move the scales of all provinces it's in towards heat 2.
>>
>>124062272
What the other guys said, but you'll also end up with lower than heat 2 in any provinces with Frozen Land sites near the throne.

The only person actually doing more than just making a big pile of <unit> and attacking me with it like they're the AI is Aqua.

It's worth noting Beige didn't feel any need to secure retreats for that army, so they all died to a man like napoleon's grand armee trying to get out of russia.

Believe me, if I had decent recruitable mages I would have used them.

Not everyone gets to luck out on sites.
>>
>>124064674

From the mages i've seen sitting around in labs, and the sites I found by raiding beige, doesn't matter if you're white or if you're beige, you could have mage support with your armies. But well.. your loss is my gain.

To have the mages I have I didn't recruit troops, or build forts. Only have more than one fort as of a few turns ago. Been using mostly conjured shit rather than anything I made. Expanded largely with an ormr. I made sacrifices, but those sacrifices now allow me to hold off FIVE other nations (Black is coming for a go, with a big pile of gryphons). At a ruinous cost in gems (i've spent every single fucking skerrick of them), at a ruinous cost in research (all i've got i've spent to have the spells I used to hold you bastards off), at a ruinous risk, but you will NOT GET MY LANDS EASILY.

DESU VULT!
>>
>>124064940

... i'd correct that to deus vult, but it seems horrifically appropriate given the amount of anime shit posted in these threads.

You're seriously fighting 5 nations? What's going on in that game anyway? Like are they all allied together or something?
>>
>>124065271
Nah, he's just huge compared to everyone else, so it's more like a last ditch attempt to stop him from steamrolling the game.
>>
>>124065271

No idea. Everyone had a bless or awake expander, because /domclysm/, so expansion happened fast. I ended up long and thin due to a mountain range and running into Aqua early. Aqua's ormr collided with my expansion force and died to a Blood Lord commander. He demanded the province his ormr died in, I refused. Then, a few turns later, Aqua decided to attack a farmland province i'd just taken with my awake expander (it stopped to sitesearch) due to some natural borders whateverthefuck. Then he panicked and decided war was inevitable and attacked me along our (long) border.

I responded with nearby expansion groups, and made inroads, but when he attacked me initially he sent out a mass message to everyone saying 'oh orange is huge I am sacrificing myself to kill him he is weak right now due to that quickly attack him'. And then Black jumped in and said that I was also huge and dangerous and/or something? And that same turn suicided a scout (his starting scout turns didn't work out for anything else) at a province near to him, so i'm unsure how he could have had any idea how large I was. So at that point I guess people were like, 'oh, two people said it, so it must be true' and Yellow and Beige dogpiled me (although they must have been marching from the turn of the initial message). White, who i'd asked for alliance with against aqua and who had replied in the affirmative but kept saying 'oh I need time to prepare, had bad events' etc clearly was just waiting to hit me in the flank.

I attacked black with a raid force because I figured he was in on all this, but it took him fucking ages to assemble a huge pile of trash (including like 150 air gems of gryphons) to slowly march at me.

The sites I found with mages (that i've been forgoing forts and recruitment to build labs to make since the start of the game) happened to be on chokepoints into my main area, kept hitting research goals right before they attacked.
>>
>>124065826
To be fair, the thing about the shit events was true. I had 70+ unrest in three provinces within two turns. And I never said I'd ally with you. All I told you was that I was already planning to get involved. I never even implied that it'd be on your side. At that time I was still just scouting out who was the bigger threat, and I decided it was you. Considering how big you are and well you're doing, I obviously wasn't mistaken.

You can try to play the victim all you want, but that doesn't really work in a wargame.
>>
>>124065547

Nope. I was about 150% of black and yellow, but they were tiny. Beige is now about twice the size of me, in terms of province count. Especially given the provinces aqua has now taken off my soft and defenceless underbelly.

Not to mention my entire fucking homeland is shitty swamps and forests, combined gold income about 100 per turn.

I have some ocean, but so does pink, and so does grey.

>>124065826

Overall due to relying on magepower and spending every single gem on summons, i've managed to hold them off. I've got a few shitty thug chassis as well, which helps. If people weren't using the domgclysm cap sacreds (archers) heavily, i'd likely have lost those battles, or at least more mages. All my magic tactics require setup time at the moment.
>>
>>124066079

So Beige is the strongest and they're all attacking you? Bad luck.
>>
>>124066202
>Beige is the strongest
He's beating the shit out of beige.

He's big, he has better sites than almost anyone else, and he's beating 4 nations a tthe same time.

And still he wants to pretend that he's the underdog.
>>
>>124065992

I'm doing well because i'm using actual tactics and multiple prongs against Yellow and Beige who have 'one big army, march in circles' and you who while raiding put all your stuff in one attack head-first into a pile of mages with the defensive first turn cast. I had a harpy scout province until yellow took it. I'm not big compared to Beige, and with what you've taken, you're the same size as me currently. Black is smaller, aqua is maybe one or two provinces smaller but has indies on their borders still, Yellow is smaller but was also like 8 provinces big to begin with, no idea about pink or grey.

I'm not 'steamrolling' anything, i'm using my research mages to win fights against AI-like piles of archers. Literally 3/4 of all my mages and forces were in battles last turn. The only ones that weren't were some hedge wizards, divine researchers, and some in the west that Aqua is now threatening with yaksha thugs and jaguar warriors.

Not 'playing the victim', but stop fucking acting like I was set to win the game. I have one throne and am not larger, I don't have amazing mages (aqua has yakshas, spider sorcerers, airya seraphs, black has skratti and gygjas, even yellow has ammi, abba, and se'ir - I took a random province off beige with a thug and found amazing stuff there - i've got some good stuff but it's nowhere near unbeatable, and I spent a lot of gold and mage time to find these sites (searched nearly every province in every path, manually)). If you're dogpiling someone because you're bad at the game, just admit it.
>>
>>124066292
>and he's beating 4 nations a tthe same time.
He's beating 4 nations that aren't using mage support.
>>
>>124066292

Beige has 5 of my provinces, or did (black took 2 off him, I counter-raided him for 2 more). He's also just big, had a good expansion.

I beat beige's 'big stupid army' he slowly marched at me and didn't bother to split up or secure retreats with. Turns out flaming arrows is not the best against terracotta warriors backed by 20 mages. But I haven't retaken anything from him, and I can't easily get at him. Black is now in the way, and his summoned stuff is not relying on flaming arrows, so it'll be harder to fight. I'm just defending and slowly losing ground at this point.

I'm the underdog in that i'm fighting vastly huger amounts of gold in units than I have, on four fronts, at once. I don't give a fuck what propaganda you want to spread, that's the actual, physical case, and I will publish any number of battle reports to show that. That I invested in mages and was able to out-tech people and win defensive battles doesn't change that.

>>124066202

Eh, I probably should have done more diplomacy. But when two people decide to kill you for effectively no reason (aqua because 'natural borders', black because 'he's using undead horses and that shit ain't cool' (the exploding horses, found a site that makes them)), there's not a lot you can do other than dig in, grit your teeth, and make the world pay in blood.

At this point i'm just hoping to weaken the 4 or 5 of them enough that they don't get the win. Or at least so that they have to fight smartly to kill me, and not just overwhelm me with pure numbers, and therefore the actually good at the game ones will win.
>>
>>124066471
>with what you've taken, you're the same size as me currently
That's a blatant lie. I've got scouts all over your shit.

>I'm not 'steamrolling' anything, i'm using my research mages to win fights against AI-like piles of archers.
In other words, steamrolling.

>stop fucking acting like I was set to win the game
I never said taht, I said you were the biggest threat to me. So far, that has proven 100% correct.
>>
>>124066853

Looking at it again, if you don't have anything south of 28, you are not the same size as me. For some reason I was thinking you went south of there. But I don't think it's particularly my problem that you expanded to like, 7 provinces, and anything that defeats stuff you summoned from sites is 'the biggest threat to you'.

It's a bit fucking hard to say I can't say you're full of shit when you're blatantly misrepresenting shit to make the game sound like it's not. A nation that was doing okay got rushed by 5 other nations in year 2, because they were looking for easy targets, and that nation got into an early war, because their neighbour panicked. It's not a last ditch attempt to stop someone about to win.

Your army got clobbered because it didn't have a counter to the spells I used. That I had because I spent all my money on mages since the start of the game. It's not mysterious or a sign I was about to win.

I beat the armies they sent into my lands with my research mages because they had no mage support. And I unlocked stuff I was able to use to kill them, at a ruinous cost in gems (around 100 gems, pretty much everything I had left, used in those battles).

I've lost about 1/3rd my land size, lots of mages, troops. I currently have research mages, summoned chaff protecting their labs, and a few thugs i'm terrified of losing. I've 'beat them' in the sense that 'i've killed some of their stuff while being completely unable to advance and losing provinces every single turn'.

I am sorry for all the poor souls that might get caught in the crossfire, but i think I will not be able to win this game in any sort of way. I was a retard and trusted Sceleria, he obviously backstabbed me and now recruited 2 acolytes to his side to backstab later, not learning from my experience.

But holy shit i won't go down in silence, I hope you guys like literally 0 income lands.

Anyway, i told you people to not gangbang me, and you are doing exactly that. I swore to not cast cancer globals because they aren't fun for anyone. I guess now i'll have to, and you people should blame the gangbangers.

Anyway i still haven't lost any major fight, and my decision can be revoked if the war changes it's outcome, and anyway, the one that is going to give me a hand is going to receive a HUGE deathbasket, and i am speaking of 350+ gems.

Also, why the fuck you people are trying to get shitty lands fighting against undeads instead of getting the FREE land of the living that's worth something? I don't know.

Not threatening everyone else in the game with a nasty global sounds like a good start.

Seriously guys, this is diplomacy 101.

>b-b-but I'm just casting BoT because it hurts my invaders
Bullshit, you'd be better off actually using those death gems on mages or summons.

If you even have enough death gems for a proper BoT cast you've clearly been planning this for a while too, despite promising not to.

>>124069952
>This was my first time with Ermor and i learned the lesson: "Nobody likes you"
For damn good reasons too.

Being next to a domkill nation is horrible since you lose income (either via preaching and temple spam or domkill)

Being attacked by a domkill nation is awful because you barely gain anything even if you win.

Worst of all, they seem to inevitably end up casting BoT, even if they swear they won't.
>>
>>124070180
>>124070094
I don't even have Thaum researched. i DON'T want to BoT. It sucks shit and it can't save me.

I am saying that I am going to cast if it if I end up in shitty position with all my lands lost and my army destroyed. Right now i just want to rape those assholes attacking me.

Also, no research because Ermor.
>>
>>124068921
You sound like more of faggot than me. :^)
Also sorry for taking that province white, it's not that I didn't mean to attack you, just that I misclicked and attacked earlier and with less force than I intended to.
>>
>>124070382
So you're planning to intentionally cripple yourself by stockpiling gems and leaving mages behind to research?

Then when you lose because you didn't actually fight properly, BoT goes up?
>>
>>124070382
so why the fuck do you swear you won't cast BoT and then when things start going against you you start pussying out and threatening to cast BoT

given this, not only is Ermor diplomatically null, but now people have even LESS reason to trust you in anything ever

if you just want to cast BoT fucking do it, you're the only one telling himself not to cast BoT, but don't be surprised if people become even more hostile because 1. you cast BoT 2. you said you wouldn't cast BoT 3. you have nothing to gain by casting BoT

you're literally being a victimist douche
>>
>>124070818
Right now i have 3 Death gems, I am researching because otherwise my mages are useless, and i still DON'T want to cast it. I am keeping the cancer globals as a last fuck you to my aggressors if i get totally SHREKT.

Tell me how should i use my mages against Sceleria, the nation that is basically my hard counter, and I was so lucky that i spawned between him and the map border.

Vanarus i should have fought with you, I am extremely sorry.
>>
>>124070862
Because i have nothing to lose, as you said Ermor is diplomatically null, and i can't get people more hostile than now, because all my neighbours are already against me.

It's not being a victimist douche, it's trying to avoid losing in any way possible.
>>

Also you crafted a lot of shit, con8boys. I have almost nothing left to forge.
>>
>>124071129
>Tell me how should i use my mages against Sceleria
It obviously depends on research and gems, but if you're in a position to cast BoT at the end you've done something wrong.

Battlefield clear like Earthquake would be ideal. If you don't have it, get it.

Earthquake is pretty easy for you to cast, just communion slave 4 dusk elders and communion master a couple of E1 dusk elders. Cast Summon Earthpower with both and you can then cast Earthquake.

That should clear out Sceleria's chaff, so you just need something which can kill his non-chaff. It can't be skeletons since your skeletons will also die.

Lictors would be good, especially if they're highly blessed, but I suspect you don't have them. Fire Elementals could work, and makes use of the extra mages you'll need to bring to prevent him fucking up your shit with magic duel.

If Sceleria has Mass Flight, you're going to need to make Crystal and/or Slave Matrices so you can turn 1 earthquake him.

Hopefully that helps, have fun.

I'm not asking for aid, nor have I asked for it. Oceania was the wronged party, my initial alliance with Ermor was due to Varnus asking BOTH of us to ally with him against the other.
I allied with Oceania, asked Ermor to ally himself also with them, to which he killed their forces in C'tis's territory to take it for himself.

I'm not saying I' in the right and am good, I'm saying the Ermor is whining about actions having consequences. If he casts BoT I will donate all my pearls to whoever can dispell it.

There has been one major battle, his phyric victory due to my poor scripting, this has been remedied and also all the fighting now it in his territory.

Pretty sure that event just requires order, not luck, so misfortune merely makes it less likely.

Also I think the amount of gold you get in that event depends on the base income of the province.

Assuming you're taking an N9E4 statue as Pythium, how do you get the E/S crosspath for things like crystal matrices and golems? Just suck it up and empower an arch theurg?
>>
That's a funny turn
>>
>>124086194
If you get indie D2 mages, you can try to spam Summon Spectre and hope for a lucky random. If you have no luck, its probably cheaper to empower your statue in Astral although an E level on an Arch Theurg is probably more useful.
>>
>>124086194
You have to suck it up, but you'll be able to do a little bit of sitesearching with the statue and hopefully get some income that way.
An S6E6 statue would probably be better for MA Pythium just because it allows you to cast everything you need at turn 1 , although N9 golems are pretty nice.

N9 communicants are so much better than regular communicants that it's not even close. Communicants without the nature bless let you put up some battlefield buffs, and then they die. N9 communicants let 2 theurgs cast whatever you want for the whole fight.
>>
>>124087905
True but if he made multiple wishes, entirely possible with R'lyeh and artifacts, he could have wished for control of something or a doom horror or pankoman only knows. I'm just posing theories I can't see the turn until after lunch with my gf :^)

>>
>>124086701
>If you have no luck, its probably cheaper to empower your statue in Astral although an E level on an Arch Theurg is probably more useful.
The statue can't wear a skullcap, so to make a crystal coin you'd need to either already be able to make a ring or artifact or empower in astral twice.
>>
Do gibodai get the death bless on their mind blasts?
>>
>>124088179
Communicants tend to die even with an N9E4 bless since they take tons of fatigue from any spellcasting, especially if you're needing to cast multiple turn 1 army buffs in order not to get fucked by lategame spells. As long as you get the big spells off they've served their purpose, since they're not going to last in any prolonged engagement.
>>
How the fuck does genocide kills a spectral mage anyway, it has 25 fucking hp. Did the dice explode on a geared mage of all people?

#NiefelLifesMatter
>>
>>124088850
A sufficient number of communicants with 2 mages will take only 1 damage per spell. This means you can have 2 mages casting at a high level for the whole fight, more if one of the battlefield buffs that you're putting up is mass regen (Personal regen is less efficient here, since you can't then have the master casting it cast other spells. I mean, you can do it if you have a cheap N1 that isn't going to do anything anyways, but mass regen is good to have regardless)
>>
>R'lyeh
>Irrelevant
He may not be able to win the game, but he's definitely having an impact
>>
>>124089537
But you need a dozen communicants for each theurg if you want them to not die, and sometimes you will need to get more masters to cast everything you need on turn 1.

I really know that feel. A lot of my site searchers with low tier boosters died so I lost a lot of gems and gold. That's bad, but the worst thing is that I lost a lot of turns to move them all and I can't even remember how many I had and can't know how many of them I lost.

Also I'm checking all of my fortresses but can't remember everything i had... Isn't there something like a log? I could just download the last turn to compare but that's slow and annoying as hell.
>>
>>124090434
Sometimes having a few level 7+ casters are better than having 2 or 3 more lower level casters. You can give your other masters crossbows and have them fire to avoid killing your slaves. Sure your opening buffs will knock your communicants out, but as long as they're alive, you can keep them in the agonizing state between life and death to rip the magic from their very life force throughout the battle.
>>

oh so it begins.

i saw that coming. cataclysm kills 20% of global population ( not the sea i think, but i can't remember correctly) and has a chance to hurt pesky humans.

there is nothing in the game that efficiently restore population and catacylsm spamming, unlike global echantments competition, will always be at 150.

given the size of the map spooky/undead/underwater(still can't remember if cataclysm works UW) nations have all the reasons and abilities to cast it 10 times. in fact they should diplo together and gift pearls to the one casting it to make the end comes faster.
if they send pearls to each other in 10 turns everyone might be pushed to 1/4 income with also harder bhunting; and gold mines, gems and fortune scales will be the only things that matter.
smart people should aim at that.

They have gems and they do not follow scripting. They will, however, summon elementals if they have the paths for it, so giving gems to elemental mages will usually protect them from assassins (exception - fire elementals are shit against water elementals, so it won't help. Your best bet is for a lucky fireball/pillar to hit the assassin, so gems are actually detrimental).

Blood slaves also show up, but your blood mage will go on a murder spree using as many slaves every round as he has blood paths.

Therodos is weird. They want to have as much money as they can for as long as they can since they like being able to recruit mages and sacreds. Once their gold runs out, however, because their units are all sacred, they won't actually desert - they just can't recruit more of them so attrition becomes a serious concern and they're forced to rely on their freespawn. While their freespawn is less shitty than Lemuria's given their access to archers and sacreds, they're still liable to die en masse to the anti undead stuff that literally anyone can field. While they do have a competitive advantage in a post-apocalyptic world given that they have stuff that isn't gold reliant (or even population reliant, as is the case with blood nations) they are still significantly weakened. In Utterdark-world, blood nations surely come out ahead, but in apocalypse world, I think Therodos will do better than any nation that wasn't just way ahead and already able to use fully magic armies.

every nation but MA ermor ( which is not in the game) doesn't like to not have gold.
but the core of the issue is if they have it better than its enemies.
casting 7 cataclysms fucks with bhunting nations, which should otherwise be good runners for the victory thanks to the summonable freespawners, but also fucks with every nation who doesn't have good efficient national summons. if you are not one of these two nations and you also have either mines or luck scales, then it's in your interest to send pearls to whoever is casting armaggeddons. if your summonable sacred squads or SC are better than average, then you can expect to advance fairly fast, eating several undefended provinces.
>>
>>124118467
>every nation but MA ermor
Even MA Ermor wants gold to build infrastructure and maybe recruit indie mages.
>>
>>124117537
m8
Earthsnake gives you an extra expansion party for free while still letting you take solid scales. If you don't want to go for specific paths or a bless on your pretender, the extra provinces that you get are often better than a pure scales build while also giving you access to a high level earth caster when you're ready to use it for that.

It's used frequently because it's strong independent of your national strategy. You can think of it as being basically a better scales build, except without even the tiny amount of diversity that different scales chasses offer.
>>
>>124118681
i wrote a weird and incorrect phrase, but the point is that gold covers a smaller percentage of Ermor's potential as a nation and they want less gold than other nations. Also Ermor also has no upkeep for most of the gold it spends. after building its forts and temple that region of the empire is done with and doesn't need any more gold every turn.
>>
>>124077989
>way stronger

Hardly. Dusk elders are comparable to Grand Thaumaturgs in power, having more death and less astral. They also are worse at communions, but that's unrelated.

>>124078692
>protecting against magic duel
First, only 1/5 duskelders have any protection against magic duel (Phoenix Pyre), and that only works when they get the first turn.
The rest get that protection only by spending fire gems.
Another 1/5 duskelders are slightly more resilient thanks to a chance at S2, but only ~1/150 dusk elders will have both S2 and F2, so they can be ignored.

As discussed two threads ago, even with best protection (phoenix pyre) up thanks to defensive turn, magic duel at worst disables your Dusk Elders for that battle via fatigue, and at worst kills them for an exchange rate of about 330 gold/Dusk Elder. (Math: Phoenix Pyre grants an average of two extra lives due to fatigue calculation, making duskelders three times harder to kill. F2S1D3 Dusk Elders 'die' to about half of casts, and trade at a 1:1 ratio with thaumuturgs. Sceleria takes ~5 casts and loses an average of 3 mages to kill a dusk elder with phoenix pyre up. (Sceleria wins 15/36 rolls, Ermor wins 15/36 rolls, and they tie on 6/36 rolls). 5 pearls + 330 gold to kill your 20 gem mages is not a bad deal, given how much ermor values death gems. And this is a best-case scenario.

Under the worst-case for ermor, Sceleria gets the defensive turn, at which point it costs them an average of two casts and just over 1 dead thaumuturg to kill dusk elders. (20% of duskelders have S2, which are slightly harder to kill). This is an excellent exchange rate of 2 pearls and ~115 gold for 20 gems.

>ignoring the rest of your tools
Which are? Rigor Mortis is great, but magic duel can take it down easily (fatigue v phoenix pyre). Sceleria can out-chaff and out-mage you on the field of battle. Censors wont do it without mage support.
>>
>>124119861
Ermorposters.jpg
>>
>>124119861
While it's an unreliable strategy given that it relies on indies, it is also possible to phoenix pyre slaves with a crystal matrix dusk elder and put them in front of your dusk elders. Since magic duel targeting is deterministic, the closer S1s will explode first. It's still expensive, requires luck with indies, you want those indies for other slave duties, &c, so just the threat of magic duel is already really strong, BUT it is possible to play against it if you know it's coming (or even just expect it)
>>
>>124120284
If you soul vortex along with your pheonix pyre the slaves at least might do more damage before they die.
>>
>>124119861
>at worst...at worst
should be at best ... at worst

Also going to note that magic duel comes online at Evo 3, whereas the "counter" is at Alt 7, and Sceleria otherwise gets many anti-ermor tools well before Ermor gets their counter-tools. (Rigor Mortis is Enchant 6 - different path from Phoenix Pyre. Sceleria gets communioned banish at Thau 1, Control Dead at Thau 5, and Wither Bones at Thau 6.)

i personally think that being able to catch more provinces it's good but strongly limited by people's diplomacy, map size, and other people expansion.
you might get 20 instead of 15 provinces and then get cockblocked by people "rushing" chokepoints or having only awkwardly placed/low value provinces as expansion choice. you endup with 25% more provinces but less scales on them...and suddenly your entire diplomacy is complicated, because as soon as your shitty earth " dies to 20 undeads or good morale units" snake becomes less relevant you will be a big, lousy easy target for neighbours who felt their expansion was gimped by you.

i would go erf snek over scales only for nations that actually can't get those 15 provinces without triblesses or for nation that can turn the early game gold rush of an awake expander into a well aimed mage rush, such as " turn 19, i am marching 30 stellar cascade mages into your capital while your 6 mages still don't know more than party tricks".

I know that erfsnek is a good choice if you want scales and have nothing better to do with your god than expand, but many people take it because they have no idea what to do, and its easier to scaleserfsnek than develop an actual strategy. It gives you a reasonably strong early game, and while that'll work against a lot of scrubs, it'll get you eaten alive in late game if you don't have a plan for what to do there. It's also not terribly good for early game wars, beyond helping expansion. (which is why its so cheap compared to some other early-game options).

>>
So /domg/, are there any niche situations where size 3-4 mooks are actually useful (I'm talking about shit like shamblers, minotaurs, many giants)?
>>
>>124123367

>>
>>124123367
Minotaurs are actually pretty good when buffed for protection. Size 3 tramplers with decent price and statline and berserker. They can be really dangerous, seriously.

Giants, it depends on a giant. Dawn guard is basically a heavy cavalry equivalent but better and with magic weapons. Trolls make good blockers.

E2 (E1 with boots) and 4 communion slaves (via matrix) can first turn cast it.

30E to empower to E2, or you could trade earth boots from someone to get you started.

>>124123142
>If you can cast it 3x, sure.
Skeletons shouldn't need 3 casts to kill nor should Sceleria's mages, but casting it 3 times isn't significantly harder than twice. Only real issue is having enough E-random elders.

>and 8 communion slaves
4 is sufficient with earth boots.

>(which you are going to lose)
Why?
>>
>>124122484
>Ermor gets T1 EQ at const4 Evo5.
This is not as useful as you think.

Ermor gets E1 mages at best (1/5 dusk elders). T1 therefore requires at least 8 communion slaves, a defensive turn, an item and some luck with Dusk Elder rolls, as this is dependent on an earth-random elder with a rather high unit ID. You may either use 9 dusk elders + one item (190 gem investment), hypothetical astral indies, spectators with items (206 gems, but fewer are death, though 9 e/s mage turns are required), or indie shamans with items (110, only 20 are death, 9 e/s mageturns are required, vulnerable to your own EQs). (See below for discussion of Earthboots/Empower response to cut communion size in half, saving you 40-80 gems).

Also, it doesn't counter as well as you think, either. You need a lot of EQ casts for it to be highly effective, or to have debuffed enemy defense.

One cast of EQ allows for a defensive roll and does only 8 damage. (I forget what the defense roll is against; I'll assume 10 until corrected, as that is the default for spells). This will kill .38*.38=14% of thaumuturgs on the field. Under the best case scenario, in which he is fielding nothing but 2120 longdead (lowest nonparry defense without protection), it will kill 0.62 (defense) * 0.7 (chance of sufficient damage) = 43% of chaff killed. This is good, but he is likely to be fielding more resilient undead (Soulless and Horsemen). Repeated casts will work, but this relies on you having multiple E1 mages, (which you only get per 100 death gems spent), or him not disrupting your plans the next turn. (this will happen).

>>124124125
Sure, if you get lucky you can trade for earthboots, but this adds another element of luck. That or empowerment will cut down on your gem expenditure, though it relies on you getting a significant number of earth gems while having only poor sitesearching for that gemtype and being public enemy #1. Luck will help, but again requires getting lucky.
>>
>>124124125
>nor should Sceleria's mages
It takes 3 casts to achieve 70% kill ratio against 10 hp mages. With two casts you'll hit maybe 50% on a good day.
That's still powerfuly, but it leaves your EQ trap extremely vulnerable and it's not easy to set up in the first place.
>>
>>124124125
>Skeletons shouldn't need 3 casts to kill nor should Sceleria's mages, but casting it 3 times isn't significantly harder than twice. Only real issue is having enough E-random elders.
It takes only 2 casts to kill enough rout a primarily longdead army, but 3 is needed to actually kill a reasonable number of mages which should be your goal for the trap.
>>
>>124124674
As sceleria I usually put those up front to soak up initial combat anyways, and never care if they die or live. Also sceleria almost always takes a bless, which they can divine bless with, and it's usually a defensive bless (S9 or W9 being the most common I've seen) making eq deaths less likely.
Can twist fate be reapplied with a new casting of bless by the way?
>>
>>124125273
>Also sceleria almost always takes a bless, which they can divine bless with, and it's usually a defensive bless (S9 or W9 being the most common I've seen) making eq deaths less likely.

>Can twist fate be reapplied with a new casting of bless by the way?
No
>>
>>124124674
>spectators with items (206 gems, but fewer are death, though 9 e/s mage turns are required)
Spectators are all always D2. You're thinking of spectral mages, which actually cost more than dusk elders and require research and should basically never be summoned by Ermor.
>>
Apparently, S9 bless works with B9 (it negates the damage, and still damages the attacker). Is there a way to make something good out of it? I'm thinking blood nation of some sort.
>>
>>124125430
Round 1 won't kill the mages as previously stated though, so the buffs will still go up, and if it's twist of fate that's one Earthquake hit down the pooper
>>
>>124125112
Only two casts is more-or-less true (Three is more sure, but two will work sometimes), but this also assumes Sceleria is primarily fielding longdead infantry. I have done this in 0 of my sceleria games, instead opting to primarily field horsemen with a smattering of ghouls, vestals, and soulless.

>>124125273
No, sadly it cannot. (Just as you can't rebless with N9 to cap off your HP).
>>
>>124125676
This whole thing is assuming an EQ trap, which is a defensive round 1 cast.
>>
>>124125594
No, I'm thinking of Spectators. Spectators with items assumes you would summon spectators and given them slave matrices because indy mages would die to your own EQs very quickly and you don't want to use dusk elders for some reason.
>>
>>124125870
Oh, I understand now. The scales have fallen from my eyes.
>>
>>124125676
Turn 1 EQ will still fuck up Sceleria pretty good even if they don't kill all the mages. They're terribly reliant on their communions, and for the good stuff (Fog Warriors) they need 16-men communions. Even a single dead slave could mean not casting it.
>>
>>124126236
>running minimum number of communion slaves
ISHYGDDT
>>
>>124125742
That's not a terrible counter, then, if you manage to intercept the enemy with it, but it doesn't let you go on the offense or cover more than one point (even your cheapest version is 120 gems for one cast, +40 for each additional cast), so once they know about it, it should be easy to go around.

>>124125635
I know damage reflection works like that (what dakinis have works as long as they get a damage roll, even if it is negated), but are you certain blood vengeance does? If it does, it should also work with stuff like mistform, body ethereal, luck, skeletal legion, or regular twist fate.
>>
>>124126745
It works that way with all of that, yes. They all block damage, not the actual hit. B9 is good.
>>
>>124126745
EQ/RoS/whatever traps are really good against communion nations. Sceleria is a communion nation that also has low HP chaff. This is not a uniquely Ermor move and it's not a 'counter' to Sceleria - just a tool in the kit. I have no idea why the tangent on one tactic got this long, but it's cool that people are at least talking about Dominions theorycraft.
>>
>>124127076
Yeah, my main point there was that while Ermor can do EQ traps, it is extremely expensive for them to do so.

Also, on a second tangent: How many EQs does it take for ermor to fatigue explode their own communion slaves, if they only have 4?
>>
>>124127432
One should be enough to put them at 200 fatigue.
>>
>>124127675
Yeah, but how many kills them? Do they take one damage per spell, or do they start taking more damage over a certain amount of fatigue? If it's 20 fatigue/1damage like I've seen suggested, three should reliably kill your own dusk elders.
>>
>>124127893
I'm not sure, but IIRC it's more than 20fat/1dam.
>>
>>124127432
>How many EQs does it take for ermor to fatigue explode their own communion slaves, if they only have 4?
Depends how much hp the communion slaves have and whether or not you're using extra gems in casting.

With no extra gems they should be dead in 5 casts or so (first cast brings them to 200 fatigue, 5 damage per cast thereafter)

If you're using an extra gem per earthquake it increases to a bit more than 10 (2 casts to hit 200, 3 damage per cast thereafter)

>>124128095
50 fatigue per 1 damage was the value I got when I tested it.
>>

Pan is mostly massive buffed chaff armies, Breytos is storm demons, the others I don't know much about.
>>
>>124130496
Agartha's got petrify, which can hurt. You'll probably have better luck gearing them defensively and with boosters and then using them as battle casters than trying to have them kill things by hitting them.
>>
>>124131145
Oh, and Lanka will have leach/life for a life, so a solo SC will die to basically any of their armies as well. Telkhines are way too expensive to use as just raiders (not to mention the fact that you can recruit thugs anyways), so I'd only use them as mage support against Lanka. Remember that they'll be applying a foul vapors effect, and that with the wrong army your opponents can screw you over by poking it with a scout and letting your troops choke on the gas
>>
>>124129227
full gear.
armor of knights, frost brand (assuming no cold resist), vine shield vs pan and demons, gleaming gold vs everything else, horror helm when using gleaming gold, Starshine when not, misc as needed, ( ring of regen and amulet of antimagic are standard). outside of that specific counters for specific armies, and D gems to cast vortex.
you'll lose the weapon/shield if they change shape but it could be worth it (also take a scout to battle with them).
like >>124131145 and >>124131331 said there are counters which wreck SC no matter what, and Telkhine are expensive, so either be careful or use them in an army with serpent's blessing.
>>

Three of those nations have blood which can shut any SC right down. Leech artillery will eat them alive, and there's nothing you can do to gear them against it. You'll get only one good fight out of your Telkhines before that comes out, and if your opponents are decent they'll probably feature it anyways just in case. Agartha can do a number of different things based on a number of other different things, so it's hard to gauge what you're going to need to be able to beat. At the very least you're going to be hit with olms, so you'll need a lot of MR gear, and even then it's not a sure thing. I'd say that using Telkhines as mages is going to do a lot more for you than trying to use them as SCs.
>>
>>124131720
>or use them in an army with serpent's blessing.
That requires a gem trigger to actually go off, so a scout poking his head in to say hi will make you gas your troops.

leech can be semi countered by putting the SC at the very back of the field.

true, I suppose you could sail them in when possible, or not keep them with your main army, but using them honestly seems like a pain in the dick. defensively they can be Cloud Trapezed in at least.

Also don't go for lamia queens. You don't need them.

You can. You don't want to. It will limit how many elephants you can make early on, and with Prod 1-2 you have insanely good expansion with those.

Working on the Global Enchantment page now. Going to list all that I can find, and fill in a page for each when I have the time. Let me know if I miss anything, or if you can help me clear up the wording. Thanks!

>>124151324
Expand with Elephants, take a bless for Se'erim/mages. ALways recommend sloth 2 over sloth 3 since your early game sucks and you need those elephants. Order 3/Growth 3 are a given, as is Heat 3. W9 is good, as is N9, N9E4, or just an E6 Earth Serpent. Beeline to any wastelands on the map, and fort them up ASAP for Se'erim. Even with the debuff they're still pretty decent. You can go down to dom6 or so because of blood sacrificing. Fort up most coasts because of your income bonus/awesome coastal mages. Bloodhunt every fucking where. You don't need lamia queens.

>>124151829
You only need Elephants for expansion. As someone who's played a sloth3 berytos, it's not worth it. Go sloth 1, maybe 2, if you know what you're doing.
>>
>>124152196
>Beeline to any wastelands on the map, and fort them up ASAP for Se'erim
Depending on location, this is not necessarily sound. You do want a waste for summoning and you might will want to fort it so that you can use the lab on it to churn out ever more of your mages, but wastes are unlikely to be a top priority for other nations so beelining for one can be wasteful.

>Go sloth 1, maybe 2, if you know what you're doing.
It's possible to go for sloth and do fine, since you rely on mages and demons over regular troops, but neutral or even production scales gives you a major leg up in the early to mid game where you're still relying on actual troops to do your fighting for you. This is when Berytos is naturally weak, so being able to get a hardier front line and more archers for your flaming arrow spam when they're needed can save your bacon. In the late game, you won't miss the resources much, but once you're there you're likely to be in a pretty good spot anyways just based on your incredible magic.

I'll try this.Great scales, and it from reading it seems like the Se'erim would benefit from reinvig.
>>
>>124152932
That's a solid build, yeah. Se'irrim really don't need the reinvigoration, actually, but it never hurts and it can help out your sacred casters as well.
>>
>>124152519

I disagree. Se'erim, even with the size 3 debuff, deserve a fort as soon as possible. snagging one early has helped me out in more than a couple of games, given that berytos gets a national blood income, scapegoats is pretty low research wise, and you get fairly cheap blood hunters. I strongly suggest insuring you get a place to summon some of them as early as you can.

EA Berytos early game is not so great, but Elephants, done right, can more than make up for this. I am not advocating for sloth 3, but I think a person with a good idea of placement and expansion can go down to sloth 2, and anything above neutral production is a waste of points. In the late game you might not miss those extra resources, but you will miss the extra bless you could've gotten for your sacred mages/se'erim.

>>124152932
I actually don't have too many qualms with this. I'd personally go misf1 for magic3, but berytos has some fantastic heroes, and im a sucker for magic 3 so this is detinitely personal preference. You're going to want to invest in blood research from the get go, however.
>>
>>124153069
>>124153085

Actually I last second dropped magic and luck for a point of prod. With you saying their early game is weak, I decided that strengthening that for a better position in the mid game would be better than either. More provinces means more gems and research too.
>>
>>124153221

Neutral Prod isnt going to get you any more provinces over sloth 1. Their early game can be made up for with Elephants,

Why the fuck aren't you using your scout on <retreat> orders on that throne in your capital ring?
>>
>>124154403
Bakemono literally just means 'monster,' basically. In Dominions, they're more specifically goblins and ogres.
>>
>>124154447
Can't speak for the other stuff, but I used a mage pilot to lead my second expansion party. They have leadership and sailing and can eventually do other stuff, unlike the captains.
>>
>>124152196
I just added the in-game descriptions for all of them and removed the ones which were actually province enchantments.

Each one needs the following information:
>school and level required
>path(s) and skill(s) required
>cost
>quick strategic blurb
>>
>>124154573
As far as I know, Mage Pilots can't sail with elephants or your Collosi.
You also sort of picked a random map, something that is probably never gonna be used in Multiplayer, almost definitely for the reasons that caused your start to be so shitty.
I don't think I have ever recruited Berytian Captain, and I don't think anyone will ever provide a non-contrived reason why i should
>>
>>124154928
I'm not the guy seeking advice for his SP game, I'm just saying that when I was playing Berytos, I recruited a mage pilot turn 3 since I was using my starting army with minimal additional units as expansion army 1 and the standard elephants squad filler/distractions as army 2.
>>
>>124154819

You're a saint and a scholar. This was exactly what I was planing on adding later on. This having been done, I plan on adding individual pages for each one of them that would include, at least, the flavour text sent out to each other player, any special conditions (for instance, the eyes of god can be dispelled by Fate of Oedipus, or how Vengeful Waters spawns ice elementals in cold dominions), cost, and an ingame example of what they do (Vengeful Waters does an assassination attempt depending on dominion, despite what the flavourtext implies)

n9e9 adons barely need gear.

They need, otherwise, significant gear and buffs. With slots filled, though, they're quite good in the midgame.

Talmai elders are probably better though, since you're forging a bunch of stuff anyway (might as well go the whole hog and put armour on them).
>>
>>124160971
I'd rather gear a rephaite commander. High hp, cheap, doesn't compete with actually important commander slots.

Or just send a geared talmai elder into combat. He's more useful outside of combat and giant statline is formidable enough either way, just needs a little bit extra.
>>
>>124161379

rephaite commanders don't self-buff (temper flesh + ironskin or body ethereal + luck are extremely powerful), so you're either aiming at taking out tiny amounts of PD, or putting a lot of gear on him, and he can't stand up to small armies alone the way a geared talmai or adon can

Is there a spell or item that gives a unit innate spellcasting?

They make really good cap defenders.
>>
My turn is in, sorry for the delay.
Armaggedon memed my troops totally. I lost around 200 units, but i have thousands of bats and little birds. After counting my patrolling armies, I think 80% of the dead units were just birds, which is nice, but still armaggedon memes everyone down.
>>
>>124163653
but they can't cast twice a turn, can they? why are they are good cap defenders like every immobile pretender, but what i don't understand is what does innate spellcasting give to them. It's literally nothing, right?
>>
>>124163879

Because innate spellcasting lets them cast even if they're in melee. A caster otherwise has trouble casting while getting swung at.
>>
>>124162605
None in vanilla.

It's not possible to mod a combat spell to give innate spellcaster, it might be possible to mod an item to give it.

>>124163604
I think it prevents them from ever skipping a turn in melee.

Spellcasters which have units attacking in melee sometimes skip a turn to hit things instead, and immobiles likely still have that code despite lacking any actual attacks to use.

Kristoffer Osterman: haha they're not complex at all we just make the interface horrible and cram the game with redundant features

>When I spoke to Toady of Dwarf Fortress fame he mentioned that he developed in that kind of way; having ideas he thought were fun and interesting, implementing them and going from there. It sounds like you do something similar.

KO: Yeah, that’s right, most of the features we add come from our cocaine cruises, people think giant naked jews is 'biblical lore' and not just hilarious shit lol

>How would you describe Conquest of Elysium compared to Dominions?

KO: It's a shameless cashgrab after our latest underwater centered DLC bombed hard and left us with no money to buy new coke, we desperately needed money to pay our debts and get more coke so we just changed the battle background from black to whatever, they keep buying our shit it just works

Johan Karlsson: I agree, we were in desperate times

>It must be difficult to balance such complex games like this, how do you go about that?

JK: Ah yes, we are very generous indeed, we pride ourselves for constantly updating the game.

KO: Just to give you an example, here's the latest update: "2015-11-10 15:07:05 +0100 Remove all key files on failed key check" Some people were having issues registering their license keys to play our games so we went ahead and updated the game to remove their keys and make them buy our games again, not our fault they can't register their keys properly lmao

>It seems like Desura, the digital distribution platform you originally used before Steam, have been having some problems recently. You’ve put the price of Dominions 4 on there up to a point that no-one will buy it [$134.99]. Can you talk a bit about that?

JK: Desura suffered unfortunate consequences that are completely unrelated to us and I will speak no more about it

Concerning the price tag, that's what you think, but in reality people will keep buying our stuff, as I said, it just works. We've actually been raising the price every month like $10, we've been at it for a while now and we still get the same sales so we have no plans to stop raising the price

There's one guy I'm thinking of right now that made me post this, but I wouldn't want to call anyone out since it's more a general observation anyway. It's happened to me in lots of games. It seems some players just think there needs to be some politically correct reason for every war in a fucking wargame. They get all whiney and indignant when you attack them without a 'valid' reason, and some even go so far as to make up all kinds of bullshit for their own wars just so they don't have to feel like the aggressor.

I think many players are concerned about being seen as the bad guy, which is why some make bullshit excuses and outright lies to invade others. In this case, it's still the same, the one who gets invaded is gonna ask for a rightful reason, thus getting some sort of moral ground in the matter.

This whole attitude is silly, but it also goes with the fact that many players don't want to be seen as warmongers, and are also set on a tunnel vision syndrome: once they are at war (and especially if they don't win easily), they get the urge to focus everything on the opponent, without accepting truces, diplomacy, and without considering the game isn't lost for them just because one other guy moved some troops in their lands.

So being the good guy who didn't do nothing wrong becomes a priority to them. This might make more sense in my head than here, but I've found that players who can't get out of this narrow vision of things are usually pretty bad, or tend to make big mistakessince they can't get past it.

That depends. For at least some of them, coastal provinces are at least as valuable as undersea ones. And there's not one UW nation in the game that doesn't want at least a few land-based colonies if they can get them, even if it's just for casting rituals.

But if you withdraw your intimidation forcess before they turn into invassion forcess, I do not mind reducing that army to a more reassonable level ass well.

Unless I'm blind the smiley face doesn't exist there.

The river was a joke, human humour is weird like that, and I mean for that area. I was asking where would be an appropreite distance?

The price is probably not worth it for him, and I don't mean 'I can fight him easily' I mean 'he currently can leave the border unguarded and buy sweet things from me'.

:3-

Thiss iss a ssmiley face. You might not recognisse it ass ssuch becausse it'ss not a human face. Look, he even hass a ssnakey little tongue. Cute little feller, issn't he?

An appropriate disstance would only have to be one province. Sserioussly, ass long ass there aren't 200 sseemingly random troopss (I mean really, Barbarianss? Ichtyidss? Deer Tribe Archerss?) jusst chilling next to my throne I'm cool with whatever.

Thanks admin.

Also, even though I'm glad the only guy who was eating AI Agartha is staling, what are you going to do? Find a sub, set him AI or pray that he gets back?

That'ss what I thought. But then I ssuddenly had 200 troops on my border even though I gave him a free province jusst the turn before.

Didn't you take a throne off him or something? Or am I confusing it with another game?

>>124218737
Shit. Better Agartha than Marignon, though.
>>
>>124218885
>Didn't you take a throne off him or something?
No, I took an indie throne that he thought I sshould give to him.

I politely refussed, after which he decided to attack me.

Hey, the mercs are mercs for a reason!

ALso I can't see the face in the post: "I am ssorry. Uss humble lizardss have not yet masstered the complexitiess of human humor. Too bussy sstudying sskeletonss.

But you can't jusst expect uss to ssit by while you possition your troopss around uss and try to decide whether to attack uss right now or maybe later. If you do not want war, we'll need ssomething a bit more ssubstantial, like a temporary withdrawal of the armiess around 120. Ssuch a dissplay would at leasst remove my urge to make a pre-emptive sstrike in sself-defence.

To further your analogy, I feel a ssmall demilitarissed zone iss called for, in the interesst of peace, even if it hass to be a temporary one."

Ssubtle like a ssnake. Or jusst not very good. We don't know.

>>124220501
We certainly undersstand that Machaka issn't happy about thiss ssituation and we honor hiss right to challenge uss on the field of battle, but we feel no obligation to reward him for hiss failure.

If he wisshess to take our throne by force, that's entirely undersstandable. We will obvioussly fight back and usse our biggesst newsspaperss to sswat hiss sspiderss, but we fully recognisse the right of conquesst. We ssimply find any formal claim on territory he hass never held in the firsst place to be ssilly.

Alsso, I jusst noticed we will need a new thread very ssoon.

Bring plenty of chaff to soak up the lance hits. The initial charge is murder, but after that they're a lot less dangerous.
