Yeah, Knuckles was much better off as a supermutant who dates his cousin while all his old relatives spy on him and do his job for him, fans of the Sonic series must really look forward to that when they play the games and want to see more content. The thing is, that episode is an exception. It's got the least amount of romance/romantic subtext of any of the shows besides Underground. Even then, the show's got the most consistently high quality out of any of them. Give it a shot, a link to all the episodes is in the OP, and you can find them all on Youtube. As for Shattered Crystal, it's completely different than Rise of Lyric. It's more of a metroidvania than anything

Hello /sthg/, Today i wanted to try out something to liven up the threads a bit, if it doesn't go well, you won't hear from me again, i can promise you that.

I Can only describe this as being a "roll and decide" game. Something similar to "Lego Quest" if you've every heard of it.

Your character is a freedom fighter, their mission has sent them to the outskirts of Holoska, where their objective is to shut down what remains of an Empire Operation, however, The task will not be an easy one, as one of the few remaining capsules is under guard by a trio of Egg-Fighter models, one with a sword, one with a shield, and one with a hover unit.

Your objective is to take out what remains of the Egg-Fighters, and release the capsule before an Empire dropship arrives to collect it.

In the games, I'm fine with him having blue eyes. The red and black thing is a western invention, and has no precedent in the games.

In the cross-continuity amalgamation of the comics though, I love the Western eyes. It's a fun little touch that ties to the comics' roots and make Eggman particularly creepy when he needs to be.

When i applied to paul told me that if i wanted to work on sonic i should be submitting portfolio pages on sonic possibly redrawing old issues (which i had done, i was concerned with not having enough variety) he said that 5-6 continous pages of one story was enough and to focus on what you want to be,penciler, colorist, inker and dont multitask. This worked for me. Happy to answer in more detail if need be. No one should be left out in the dark when it comes to this sort of thing. I intend to change that whenever i get a chance.

Bunnie appears sporadically and functions almost exclusively as a sounding board for Sonic/Sally. Her character lacks agency and she doesn't even do anything Antoine and Rotor couldn't very often when she does anything other than stand and talk.

How retarded are you? SatAM is jam-packed with one note characters that add fucking nothing to the story who are supposed to be taken seriously. AoStH is a mediocre comedy show and it STILL understood the basics of character building better than SatAM. Because of the cast's small size, their relations with each other are more pronounced and there are more opportunities for them to get focus. Tails has a handful of good episodes in AoStH BECAUSE it's just him and Sonic.

Having the same basic plot rehashed for the high majority of episodes is not that. And Tails getting a handful of episodes out of 60+ when he's one of 6 or so characters in the show is not something to be impressed with. If you're actually using AoStH as an example of understanding character building better than Satam, then you're braindead. AoStH was about as one-note and cliche as a cartoon could get barring certain multi-part episodes.

I noticed archie have a tendency sometimes to use a layout artist and then someone else to finish up, so for example if I was weak at page layouts theoretically I could use someone else's until I got the archie feel, which seems like a really cool thing of them to do if that's the case. How does that situation work, is there someone who basically handles the action and pacing of the series and pass the thumbs onto a penciler? Or if you're experienced enough they let you do your own layouts?

I'll make sure to focus on something, at this point I can't decide if penciler or inker, but I'm leaning towards pencils. How is the artwork generally submitted, ie could I be a penciler if I submitted all my work digitally and used something like photoshop? I assume the inker is going to be using a digital platform anyway? Or does it depend on teams/setups?

When it came to your page redraws did you literally redo the pages in your own style to show what a finished pencils would look like using someone elses layouts or did you restructure the page layouts too?

I'm really serious about doing something with my art and I'm getting to the point where I'm actually considering submitting to places, and I've always been a big fan of the archie action line, sonic especially/obviously (initially I was hoping to a page of off panels with my portfolio just for fun). While I'm training on Bristol boards and Cintiqs I wanna have a goal so I think a submission to archie would be a good thing to aim for (my big thing last year was getting a self owned story pitch into the big Oni Press submissions window)

I'm assuming that there were multiple bibles about Sonic character general traits and to the addition that there were multiple writers on AoStH, maybe a few understood that Tails was supposed to be a tech genius.
