Has anyone heard of this new "super maint" idea? I for one think it's pretty ingenious.

After all, what maintains maint? That's where super maint comes in. It would be a z-level situated "below" the normal station (Think hyperia) and only accessible from certain hatches in normal maint. And it's like maint but so much maintier: dark, inaccessible and dangerous. Hidden catches scattered around. Lost mechanical rooms. Secret passages.

Sup nerds.

Finally stopped procrastinating from the combat system and set up a dynamic encounter generator that gets fed a list of enemies. The whole thing is a mess of passing variables between a meta level object, to the combat system, back to the meta level object to the enemy database, then fed into the combat system.

This was ultimately unnessecary, but I was using objects to store meta information in global variables anyways for a multitude of reasons.

The result is this. That was one of the hard parts. Now I need to implement the health bar, then I'm going to implement the very beginnings of the damage formulas.

This is big progress and one of the bigger hurdles.

There's actually a reason his name is weird. That's not his actual name. Everything I have stored in the enemy database is placeholders until I get the real development rolling. By then I should have come to a conclusion on whether or not I want to do this for free, and I wouldn't feel right using names of jobs straight out of SS13 up to a point. Quartermaster is something I could live with using if I go full jew mode, but Supply Chief is just as valid.

So that round was an experiment on seeing how annoying I could be and fuck shit up atmos wise while still being ultra safe. I have to say I am not impressed by my handiwork, because I probably could have found more fuel tanks to asplode and fireball doesn't actually do as much as I thought it would. I was, however, pleased with my ability to evade capture and termination until the end, when everyone figured out I would head to the engi pods. Lesson learned, and I had fun overall.

It's just there has never been a big push for size-capped containers vs number-of-items-contained. Every two or three months someone stops by and asks for it and there's never some rally around it. There would be some balance things to look at (like exactly how much size a backpack would get - right now its limit is 21 because it can hold up to size three and seven items) but if we're going muh immersions muh realism they might decide to lower that to 16 or something so you can only carry 4 eguns with you (but 16 pills).

Incidentally nothing works with carry "weight" and even if it was size-based it would still "magically increase your carry ''''''weight''''' by carrying boxes to carry smaller items". You will always always always juggle your inventory to carry a sheet of paper, that's life.
