She's only safe with proper spacing. Ftilt on shield is never safe, and fair has to be basically max range or retreating to not get grabbed. A failed bouncing fish is a hard punish also. And, as annoying as her fair is, it only leads into kills on a few characters, everyone else can escape fair > BF at kill percents. She has to rely on rising needles or frame trapping to get KOs.

ZSS's flip kick isn't safe on stage at all and anyone who's spamming that has no idea what they're doing. Protip, if you see a flip kick coming at you, jump and air dodge, it'll send her bouncing up higher and give you more time to punish. A whiffed flip kick attack is a free punish too.

Won't argue about the endless hitboxes, but getting spikes through the ledge is always satisfying.

Flip Kick is safer than Sheik's Bouncing Fish, there is a horrendous amount of endlag if you miss it. If you hit shield, a good bit of the cast can still punish you.

If you spot dodge or roll the BF, you are free to do basically whatever you want. However, no good Sheik is just gonna throw it out raw like that. It's used for combo finishers in which case you can't do anything about it (if the combo is guaranteed at least).

That's just a gimmicky getup option (which you don't see Sheiks going for ever, really.) Doesn't do any damage or anything.

It's usually a mistake when it happens, too. It means you were slightly too low when going for a BF back on stage, which is a good option if your opponent is not expecting it, and if they shield then you get to try again since it sends you back off.

Mr. R does it. Sheik mains have theory crafted about it for a while. The entire point is that you're supposed to hit the ground before the hitbox comes out so shielding won't do anything and it cancels most of the lag. Basically retrieve stage control without having the grab the ledge, wait 20 frames, and then pick a get up option.
A few characters have something similar but not many as good as Sheik's

I've watched all the games from top Sheiks since basically the start of Sm4sh. I almost never see them doing that. Maybe 1 in 50 games or something. It's really not that great of an option. I've done it myself, she just tumbles back on stage. They have plenty of time to grab you, you can't act out of it immediately. The only thing it has going for it is that it is unexpected.

The technique only gives you 2 frames of intangibility. Unless your opponent is planning on a trump, it's not going to avoid an edgeguard. The use is if you and your opponent are offstage, such as in the webm, it avoids the situation of one or both of you grabbing the ledge, buffering get up options, and continuing to fight on stage. Sheik can land from just under ledge height, at a about roll distance, faster than any other option. Gives Sheik the stage positioning required to react and punish any of your opponents ledge options.
It is not something you do while recovering to the stage where the opponent is waiting for you.

Horizontal knockback in smash 4 you DI horizontally, vertical you also DI horizontally. Diagonal is based on the angle but it's usually just slightly down from horizontal unless you don't want to die off the top and the side isn't a problem.
PM and Melee, it's always perpendicular to the knockback angle. Horizontally is vertical DI, vertical is horizontal DI etc etc.

So that's not really a great way to learn, in my opinion. Sheik is tough, but she's also aggressive. Smash 4 is not an aggressive game, and most any other character will get BTFO with that kind of playstyle.

By that logic, any character with a semi decent kit should be considered the hardest. The thing that makes people say that she's easy is the fact that all these options you keep talking about, are insanely safe and online(which most people here play on), it's much more difficult to punish low frame moves such as her 4-8 frame punishable attacks and all of her options are geared towards getting off chains that if you spend at least 30 minutes to an hour, you can reliably do. Plus if you know what you're doing and bait out an air dodge(most of the time, done with a Dthrow into a stalled up b), you can decimate any fool at 100%+ with a up b. If anything Ryu takes the cake of being the highest skill cap.

I dual main pikachu and sheik. Pikachu is really not all that different from Sheik, however his combos are more set in stone (utilt > utilt > utilt > uair> nair) etc whereas Sheik often improves on the fly, making it difficult to decide the optimal combos during the heat of battle. It's not just fair > fair > fair anymore. Sheik has too many combos to even list. And pikachu doesn't have instant tilt buffering and doesn't rely so much on b-reverse canceling.
