So I've been playing this game for a few days now, and it seems more and more like the world is really small for an MMO.
I mean it's gorgeous for an MMO too, but not very vast.
I've only been around black shroud and la noscea, and those seem to be some of the bigger areas in the game just judging by the maps you can look at.
Are there lots of hidden areas or is the world just that small?

i finally decided to switch grand companies and now i can't do my relic books because i didn't know company leves had a rank requirement, gear delivery has a rank requirement too so i can't rank up fast

So looking at the design of the last boss in VA, the boss uses this mini tank buster every so often, do you think that's SE's new boss design to make tanks actually tank? More frequent, lower potency tank busters?

PLD will never replace DRK, even if PLD brings slightly better mitigation they still don't bring enough DPS to be worthwhile.

Not saying that PLD is not viable, but there's no reason to take one over a DRK and will look that way for the foreseeable future.

None of it has a point. Resistances are equivalent to a flat percentage and can only be modified in PvP duties. Morale used to be at the bottom of that page, but it's been relegated to a phantom statistic that does absolutely nothing.

Yeah, PLD can still be useful but the current content doesn't seem to favor mitigation checks. They seemed to be more DPS check focused.

That's still inaccurate considering no tank truly "excels" at mitigating damage. You can argue that Holmgang on a shorter CD can be used to greater effect, but content is designed with all three tanks' limitations in mind.

I feel so dumb. How do you get over tank phobia /vg/? I've tanked some low level runs and I didn't have any problems but the idea of being in the spotlight and leadership position for a group is paralyzing to me. I've run as dps and heals with dumb as fuck tanks before and I doubt they had any of this anxiety about running, and they were godsdammed awful.

Tank jobs in this game are literally DPS jobs with defensive cooldowns and higher enmity generation.

Just run into a pack of mobs, throw out a flash/unleash/overpower 2 times, and then spam your dps rotation. If you feel like you're going to lose aggro, use your enmity combo or more flash/unleash/overpower.

Do you have any idea what cooldowns WAR has? IB is up for everything. Thrill and Vengeance are only on a 2m cooldown. Raw Intuition is 90s. Holmgang is 3m. No matter what fight you're in, WAR can consistently mitigate more often and for more damage than PLD/DRK.

If it's a DPS tearing something off it's usually their fault for not focusing on what you're prioritizing. If you want to completely baby your dps you can always mark what you want killed first and most dps are content enough to focus on what you mark as it saves them the trouble of a few clicks to see what you're targetting.

Even then at 50+ it's almost expected to happen because of the amount of sheer burst dps classes have by then. It's not like tearing it back isn't that hard either and most dps are smart enough to fucking stop and figure out that they should be hitting what you're hitting.

My first time reaching Garuda was awful, I was a DPS so my queues were long and half the parties would vote to abandon after 5-6 wipes.

I don't know what it is about those two fights that people have such trouble with, there's much more complicated things around that level or not long after.
