Tfw everyones ok with them releasing the CORE aspects of halo nowadays more then a month later,lying about shit they were doing to the game. Aim down sights was suppose to have an option to be like original zoom(which makes no fucking reason not to have for blue team since they are still spartan II's and hud aim is best.) Story was massive bullshit that was a big fat lie that came out of nowhere and 343 takes away every thing they hyped up/promised. Splitscreen wasn't even going to be taken away fully, they even said it would be just campaign with no splitscreen yet there's no splitscreen whatsoever now.

Even Reach was an improvement over that assault on the visual senses.

Not trying to get defenseful but I can post up multiple pictures on how colorful the Halo trilogy looked. Also in terms of aesthetics Reach looked the worst. Bungie decided Halo should look like some ugly ass generic looking shooter by adding noise, filter grain, motion blur & bloom effects which made the game look washed out. After looking at the simple design of the Halo Trilogy & looking at Reach, Reach looked terrible as a Halo game.

Not that guy, but both games are literally from the original Xbox. Their art styles are still great for the stories they were trying to tell, especially CE. People like to heap how it had colors just as bright as Halo 3 but completely forget about the Flood, which set up a deliberate contrast with the Covenant aesthetic. Halo 3's Flood aesthetic is so ridiculously generic in comparison to the uneasy distortion of CE or the sterile creepiness of Halo 2.

Still never got why people compared Reach visuals to any other shooter on the market. Dust and grime was present, but was overshadowed heavily by extensive color from both the Covenant art style and the settings. Consider New Alexandria, which is shaded purple and pink from the setting sun and red from the burning city; or Long Night of Solace, where the black of space was replaced by a brilliant mix of green and blue.

I suppose compared to the previous games it's a bit lacking, but not at all anything near a CoD or Battlefield level.

The problem with Halo 3's Elites is that, while a "graphical" improvement, it doesn't address designs which were acceptable for games with lesser visual prowess. Thus, the jaws look somewhat frail, the gaping hole between is all the more ridiculous, and for some reason, they replaced the detailed undersuit with a rubbery latex-looking thing. Plus they got rid of hooves and gave them those odd looking toes.

Unfortunately, until H2A at least, Halo 4-5 Elites were some of the best designed, anatomically speaking.
