5 Reasons not to play on Lordaeron
-- a list by Pezado --

1) Molten has a long history of scamming and shady business practices. In the past they would do things like randomly suspend people's accounts and offer for them to be restored for a cash donation. When they weren't making enough money from their cash shop they decided to intentionally break the Shadowmourne quest line so the only way to obtain the weapon would be to pay €70.

2) After five years their other WotLK servers are still horribly broken. The idea that Lordaeron will be any different is a joke. Molten is all about making money and they will only put in just enough effort to achieve that goal and not a bit more.

3) Gross mismanagement. They've had their databases wiped twice due to the owners jewing eachother. It is not advisable to invest time into Lordaeron because its very possible your character will be destroyed some time in the future. You can read all about this here: http://pastebin.com/tktcCEFC

5) Pay to win. They claim you only will be able to donate for gear 1 tier below the current raid, but everyone knows that's a lie. Lordaeron will go full pay2win before the end of T8 raid content.

These posts are intentionally misleading, and kind of sad that people would spam so much misinformation just to try to gain attention on their project.

First of all, Lordaeron operates on an entirely different core than any other warmane realm. While older realms are running mangos core lordaeron is running on trinity core, the same core used by servers like GD and ToD.

Secondly you are claiming entire tiers of content are bugged, but at the same time none of that content is available and ready to be played. You have no way to know what is and is not working on Lordaeron, and posting a long laundry list of bugs from a server running an entirely different core is not only pointless, but it is needless shitposting. You might as well be comparing two entirely different games at this point.

If youre still believing that old youtube video about faked player counts (that was made by the same person who unsuccessfully made the nostalrius bot video, and with both comments and ratings disabled...) here is a more reliable link with data, and the addon you can run yourself. It is worth mentioning that on warmane they count accounts at the character selection screen as online players, leading to some minor stat bloating.

Everyone here has proven they won't play hellground by having multiple guilds doa for the past few years.

The number of buttons is quite inconsequential as veteran players should be capable of executing their rotation/priority queue pretty much perfectly regardless. The differences in individual player skill (for DPS) comes primarily from things like minimizing movement, optimal target-switching and stacking cooldowns, not pressing the buttons in correct order. Of course, there's a difference between pressing the most optimal button 100% of the time rather than 99% of the time (while 1-button spec defaults to a hundred percent), but it tends not a big deal relatively speaking. In addition, what creates the demand for any of those things is tight tuning: WotLK Naxx would be easy even if an average DPS spec has 5 buttons in their core rotation while M'uru is difficult even though some of the top DPS have one.

In some cases additional buttons can even make things easier. Think of how Antimagic Shell interacts with Sindragosa's Blistering Cold, for example: ordinarily you have something along the lines of 1 seconds to react to the pull because running out of AoE range takes time, but with AMS you have to press the button at any point during those 5 seconds, an utterly trivial task.

Of course, with sufficiently tightly tuned bosses it's a different thing on both accounts (rotation being ultimately quite unimportant, the presence of abilities like AMS making things easier) but most encounters aren't pre-nerf Ragnaros-25HC done with progression raiding level of gear. If you don't NEED to push your performance from 98% to 99% in order to down the boss, skill differences from pushing buttons marginally better don't really come into play and instead the success is much more influenced by other things (and not necessarily just the individual performances but how well the guild is run etc.)

Yes, and it's very easy to get 95%+ performance out of a spec with multiple buttons. Hell, while enhancement is widely considered one of the most difficult specs to play in WotLK, I once calculated they get ~90% of their theoretical max DPS with REVERSE priority queue (or pretty much reverse, Magma Totem and Lightning Shield refresh of course had to be kept at the bottom because otherwise they'd be the only abilities being used, but it was prioritizing Fire Nova and Lava Lash over Maelstrom Weapon Lightning Bolt and refreshing an expired Lightning Shield while skipping Flame Shock Entirely in favour of just using ES).

In other words, 90% of theoretical maximum was pretty much the worst possible DPS you could do as long as you pressed a button, ANY button, at each GCD. Yet there are vast differences among enhancement shamans and realistically they all are doing something along the lines of what they should be doing rather than trying to be bad, and that's the influence of all other factors like target switching or minimizing movement.

I actually agree enhancement is one the toughest specs to play in WotLK (rivalled by the likes of feral cats), but that wasn't because of their 15-step single target priority queue, it was because they had to deal with their limited toolkit, the type of challenge most classes face in TBC.

Healers in TBC actually tend to be more involved than they are in WotLK (I'm not really familiar with post-Cata expansions so can't comment on that) with an exception of holy paladins who are largely the same but with a new tool (Beacon of Light) the usage of which has room for finesse. It's most easily demonstrated by an extreme example. On one hand you have a boss that requires 101% of theoretical maximum performance of perfectly min/maxed raid group. In order to beat it, you need an extremely well-run guild that can field this perfect raid composition with every single one of the players playing their class perfectly (because otherwise even outrageously good RNG can't give that extra 1% and push you over the edge). Despite not having a single mechanic, that is a difficult boss.

On the other hand you have a boss that has a dozen fires, except that you can just outheal their damage. That boss is so trivial.

Now, increase the numbers (ie. tuning) and you have an encounter like Firefighter where it actually takes some effort to avoid the abilities because they'll fucking kill you if you don't deal with them. Now, increase the numbers further and you have an encounter like Firefighter for a proper progression raiding guild: in order to beat the enrage, you can't just not stand in fire. You can't play it safe if you want to beat the enrage: For example, if you are in a clean spot surrounded by fire, you can't just move and move again when the fire spreads because that's twice as much DPS time lost than if you wait until the fire spreads and only then move. Besides just knowing how to minimize movement (a major skill in WoW), you have to be much faster with your reactions (if you don't notice fire appearing under you instantly, it has time to tick and then you also have to move through fire to get out and two ticks probably is lethal) and it's psychologically taxing because a lot of people simply don't have the discipline to silence their "I have to move out of fire!" instincts.

The abilities bosses have only matter if they are tuned tightly enough to DEMAND proper action and new tactics you have to execute emerge as you get closer to ~100% theoretical maximum performance required to beat the boss.

Lordaeron has 1x rates but it's Molten rebranded. I haven't played there, can't say much about it, but I know their other WotLK are very buggy.

GD has 7x rates but it's not Molten. Remarkably bug free, but with the rates being so high I can't say it's blizzlike.
