I just played the Lost for the first time since the Holy Mantle addition.

The D4 is absolutely fucking pointless on Lost now. Who would give the Mantle up?

Fuck me. I didn't update until today, and I got every achievement I could in offline mode. Now steam says I didn't get any achievement post second-to-last update, i.e., everything keeper related.

I just beat Hush on the first try with The Lost. With Mom's Knife, no gnawed leaf, and only one orbital.

I really wish I had recorded that just to be able to prove I did it. Though I think Edmund might have really ramped down the damage scaling, because he went down quick.

The game has always been kinda broken but it is in its own stupidity that the game is fun, let's be honest the point of the game is too get as broken as possible given how the item pool is polluted by shit items. I liked Isaac Eternal better than Afterbirth, it has been a grindy adventure.

The point being that patching the game is okay but they still got to balance the game, I also beat Mega Satan on Hard Mode with the Lost without using continues and Afterbirth did not take that into account, so yeah the deal here is that Edmund and Tyrone break shit up and people find a way to exploit and have fun, this is was literally how Wrath of the Lamb worked.

Now there is some pretentiousness about the game where Edmund and Tyronne truly believe that the game is well balanced when both have admitted to ever have played it all that much.

The frames for the keeper are super weird, you can get killed instantly at full health.

Would you guys play the coop if the modders actually put their minds together to make it online?

i did hush and the chest first, i got a death's touch in the first room which helped me and then i got some tears up items which helped me immensely when i got lost contact and sagittarius in the two rooms in blue womb which basically meant hush (or anyone else) couldnt get a single bullet off because the lost contact would nullify it and since the scythes are so big and fired so fast it was a snooze

next room was dark room and i got moms knife early and some other stuff that i cant quite remember.

for the final run which was mega satan i found dad's key in the first room which was lucky because i could take moms knife from a devil deal. i had some damage ups too and an algiz rune which i popped as soon as i took a hit of damage once i almost killed the ultra greed/sloth/gluttony/pride combo. it took like 2-3 seconds to get mega satan through each phase and kill the angel minibosses so the rune lasted the remainder of the fight.

Yeah, the coin hearts count as red hearts so you'll basically never get angel/devil rooms, and 2 heart devil deals will always kill you unless you have some way to cheat it like a strength card or judas' tongue.
Also all of the unlocks suck so unless you really want the 1001% achievement and mega b last just don't fucking bother.

So I was just doing some testing and if you hit the D4 while you're holding an item above your head it'll reroll your entire inventory except for that item. This is basically useless except when you have curse of the blind.

Is The Battery bugged? I'm doing a shitty Blue Baby run where I have The Bible (due to lack of damage - my only damage up so far is fucking SMB Super Fan) and a kinda high tear rate, but the battery won't fill up past two notches on the 2nd charge.

Lilith is fun as fuck, especially in greed mode where you can just keep using it by clearing waves. Buy some battery items and get more familiars. Using her special item literally doubles your damage output so that it's like you're playing two of the same character in comparison to anyone else.

Mr. Boom isn't an offensive item, though. It's a free bomb use every 2 rooms so you can hit up more tinted rocks, search for secret rooms on bigger floors, or actually get those single pennies surrounded by rocks.

Rotten Head by contrast is harder to get to explode where you want it to in passive situations. It's really for killing off that one annoying champion, bunches of enemies stuck together, or dealing a little more damage on a boss.

Compared to both Candles which do higher damage and recharge on a timer, Rotten Head is garbage.

Mr. Boom is not an outstanding item either though. IMO only good for early game if you're somehow getting no fucking bomb drops. BRH could actually be a FUN offensive item possibly lasting a whole run if you give it a single-room charge, and it wouldn't even be particularily broken.
Also, Mr. Boom comes with a built-in Mr. Mega, so just upgrading BRH's charge time not wouldn't be too unfair.

Make it scale off tear and bomb (glitter bombs, bomber boy, etc) buffs as well, with a +25*(actual tear damage-base tear damage), and possibly gain effects like godhead or ludovico's if you really wanna make it that much better. Like an explosive glass cannon that won't ALWAYS near-kill you. Two to three charges per use.

The thing is, there's a huge divide between active items. They're either complete garbage, or extremely powerful. Very few fall in the middle.

It's not a particularily valid comparison imo. Passive items cost you nothing to take them, unless they are super bad in the first place. Spacebar items, on the other hand, should be at least remotely competitive, because you can only take one. At least that's what I think. Also, both those items are good anyway, and belong in different pools, and you are not guaranteed to get either of them or other analogies, while BRH shows, like, every fucking run.
Even for Shoop, I've had a few times when I stuck with it and enjoyed it. I've literally never kept BRH longer than two minutes, and I believe the only way to fix it would be to ask yourself a question: "How can this item make me pause and ponder my choice when I run across another spacebar item". I don't really see myself pondering that with BRHs chargetime being longer than a single room. Shoop's okay with two rooms since it can murder a lot of annoying trash in one shot, BRH can't do quite the same.
