On a scale of 1 to 10, how good was this Legendary drop?

I found this on a raider, but it had basically no mods at all. Tested it a bit, and it was okay, but nothing special.

Then I remembered that bleed stacks per bullet, so I turned it into a highly accurate SMG. Now it outdamages the minigun you find at the start of the game.

Bleed is possibly more dps without perks, but explosive you can upgrade with perks and also does aoe and limb damage, so pretty much explosive is best.

Is there anyway in-game to change your SPECIAL after you leave the Vault? I don't know if I fucked up exactly, but I'm not happy anymore with my choice to go with an balanced spread throughout the stats. Where did this meme come from? Why is it spewed? These are the questions we ponder as we grow older.
Radiation gets more base damage than the others. It just doesn't affect ghouls, supermutants and a few other things. It absolutely destroys most enemies, and human enemies, who usually use stims if they get a chance, can't heal radiation damage.

It depends on the weapon, the same as explosive and bleed. Rapid, low-damage-per-hit weapons like the minigun, 10mm and assault rifle do the most damage with explosive, bleed and radiation, while high damage-per-hit weapons like the .50, plasma sniper, gauss rifle and fatman will benefit more from instigating or assassin's. Pretty sure the former are the best weapons in the game as well, unless you're going stealth.

I'm doing Call to Arms, and it's bugged the fuck out. I suspect what fucked it up was me finding and exploring (couldn't go further but did clean out the lobby) arcjet before I met Danse.

Basically as soon as I got the quest the two objectives given were "Talk to Danse" and "Provide Fire Support". Danse is unspeakable. He simply does not respond, but he DID walk his way all the way to arcjet and holed up in the CEO's office where he refuses to talk. The quest marker is on him.

I've looked up the console commands in hopes of resetting this crap, and discovered

I have no idea what door but I certainly can't get in any further.
Attempting setstage 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 have done nothing,

How do you guys roleplay your characters in FO4?

Do you pretend Shaun doesn't exist?
Do you write in "AMNESIA" as an excuse for your character leaving the vault and not caring about finding him?
Do you pretend your character secretly hated their family the whole time and is glad to be free of them?

The MQ in this game is incredibly personal. Losing your family isn't something you just look past. In the MC's eyes, no time has passed so the emotional connection to them is as fresh as it could be.

What sort of mental gymnastics do you do to work around that?

Or do you just say fuck it and play the game?

Found an legendary automatic laser pistol. Does 25% more damage on all hits, can't remember the name of the modifier.

I don't normally use automatic pistols, but maybe with some upgrades this thing would be useful? Biggest drawback would be finding enough fusion cells, I think.

As far as I'm concerned my character was a field mechanic that worked in a PA unit up in anchorage/other hellhole.

I ignored the mainquest for a while and justified it as him believing that his wife being murdered and his son being stolen could have happened 50 years ago for all he knows and had pretty much given up on ever seeing him again. When he found out about WheetBix and the kid he was with he was in denial about it possibly being his own and basically just set out for revenge. Even after seeing Wheeties memories (great character btw) he is still pretty firmly in denial.

He doesn't want to die because because staying alive, doing your job, looking out for your brothers and following orders was pretty hard-coded into him during his service, but walking into the great irradiated shit storm and maybe just not coming back out might not be a bad way to end things.

Only now heading out into the Irradiated Sea.

This was a big problem I have with the plot. It's obvious some indeterminate amount of time has passed since you saw Shaun taken and got refrozen, but everyone you talk to it's always "I'm looking for my infant, baby son! He's a baby, he's a year old!"

It really damages role playing when there's such a disconnect between what the player and the player character knows.

As a commando character who is avoiding using magically enchanted guns and loves explosives with 3 cha, cap collector 2, fortune finder 2 and scrounger 2.. caps are still useful.

After a radiant/quest/random exploration I always visit the nearest settlement to reap the rewards of my 8 large shack with 15 beds in it with radios packed everywhere and take all the water or whatever I planted there for needed caps.

There's three ways to change SPECIAL in the console: setav, modav, and forceav. At least one of those (maybe all of them, I can't remember), fucks with perks in the sense that your Pip-Boy will tell you you have X amount of INT or CHA, but the perks chart won't recognize it, it'll only recognize what you originally had.

So let's say you start with 3 CHA, and you console command it up to like 6. The status screen on the Pip-Boy will show 6 (plus any modifiers from drugs and clothing), and you'll be able to pass speech checks that require 6, but you won't be able to choose perks that require 6.
