I have no idea why people like this game.
What's suppose to set a game apart is what is special about it in other words what it has that you won't find in other games. And for halo 5 it's zero.
There's nothing that it has that you won't find on many other games I've seen free games on steam more exiting than this. Halo has gathered popularity and it's standing because of a brand being known but not because of a revolutionary or even evolutionary content packed game.
It's just trying to keep up with the generation in order to keep making money of a pretty much brainwashed audience. It's almost like the apple of video game.

It's time to stay on fact. I'm not a fan of even the games I like reason being I only give tributes to what deserves it. Let's say that someone never heard of halo or it didn't have millions of people to have already played it and they simply released it as a brand new game. It would have struggled just to get at the level of a free game like blacklight retribution.
Halo is a game all about the hype. More like a modern smart rip off. Halo is basically the shooting version of forza. Microsoft needs an FPS to keep the xbox one from crashing. If Microsoft didn't announce Halo 5 the xbox one would have already failed. In order to get money out of the hundred of millions of dollars of development cost they have to advertise the game as greater than it actually is.
The story in halo 5 sounds like 90's remake. There are high school kids who could have produce better than that. In the end people are buying it mostly because of its name and because of high hopes they're putting in it. Take the last of us for example. That's the actual meaning of revolutionary. A brand new title which made it to the top the shooting system was clearly not the best even less the list of weapon available. But the gameplay the story delivered. Naughty dog said if there isn't a story to be told there shouldn't be a game made either.
Halo is like these action movies were they show u a bunch of scenes just to try to attract audiences and when these people walk out they have no idea what they just saw 3 days later already forgotten. in 10 years many people will look back just like they're doing now for game released back in 2000 and will wonder why did they even bother playing that game. You're in the time now stuck with low sight.

The problem with Halo 5 is that the gameplay is pretty exceptional, with the Campaign and multiplayer being very fun to play in the barest sense, while nearly everything else is handled "okay" at best.

It just looks so generic it's disgusting. Everything from the art style, the music, and the villain with a cliche British accent. I mean, what the fuck? I thought this was Halo not some generic Sci Fi story with no substance. Halo used to have a gritty atmosphere, a unique and interesting story, an amazing soundtrack, top notch multiplayer that was just as strong as the story, and amazing gunplay that evolved first person shooters to top it all off. Halo really was something special. It just looks like it's trying to be something that Halo is already ten times better than. I have lost hope that the game will be good.

I just want Reach back, man. The weapons, the vehicles, the gametypes, the customization, the ranking system, elites, and the campaign is so much better than the new Halos. The game even looks better even though Halo 5 has better textures and a better lighting system, although that's probably because all of the new maps are made with forge. Not that I don't have fun, it's just that Halo 5 could've been so much better.

My guess is they'll take the same direction Games Workshop took with their Space Marines and the Centurion Warsuits.

They ran out of ideas for new Marine models, so some bright spark said "Why don't we put Space Marines...INSIDE of Space Marines?"

I'd honestly be really down for a portion of a campaign - or a REQ card - that calls down either one of these types of things, or like a set of Terminator armour that could be used.

Small arms? Fuck you. Plasma Caster? Not today, Jack. Rocket launchers or Spartan Lasers? Get the fuck out of here. Scorpion tanks and Wraiths? Now you're getting somewhere.

You know what pisses me off about Halo 4? The way Requiem was handled.

Like, they hype up this massive, mysterious world, and nothing happens that couldn't have happened in any random installation. Imagine all the things we could have discovered and explored: living quarters filled with audio logs describing life as a Warrior-Servant; centers of justice and punishment with records detailing Forerunner society and caste systems; massive monuments dedicated to wars fought by Warrior-Servants throughout the millennia.

Especially the latter. Imagine wandering into one, and Cortana absent-mindedly reads off some of the dedications, only to express shock and confusion that, wait, this refers to Forerunners felled by HUMANS soldiers. How could that be? A few more hints along the way, and then you have some precedent when the Librarian drops the "humans used to be interstellar conquerors" bomb.
