and i'll start right away.

i've played FFX when i was very, very young. have good memories of it but never really played x-2. thinking about picking up the remastered version (x + x-2) for my ps4, heard that the RNG and sound bugs have been fixed. is there anything else wrong with this version?

Not that I know of. The new parts in FFX-2 had a sketchy localization in the version I played (Google-tier), but otherwise it's good. Unless you REALLY dislike the new faces I guess.

I think they may have fixed it but the 'remastered' soundtrack was absolute garbage. I bought them on Vita, X-2 is still sealed and I only made it to the first sinspawn in X.

I've only played for a few hours, but so far it's fun. Not very fast-paced, but each character feels significantly different which makes it fun to play as each of them, and try out new abilities when they're unlocked.

Oh, I should mention, I didn't play it in English. English might be fine, but it was clear that at least Europe had no additional localization budget, while having all of FFX fully localized in Multi 5 already, and missing only a few parts.

I haven't played my copy yet. Still have to finish zestiria and alpha sapphire. Zestiria is pretty good IMO. The characters are likable and the music is amazing and I'm glad it has a battle system similar to graces as it was the first tales game I played. The camera is wonky, I will admit that.

It's pretty hard to unlock and IIRC no enemies in the game have it. While the class has horrid stats, it has EASILY the most OP skills in the game. I think in WoTL they outright ban them from the trials battles. It lets you instantly cast any magic you known by setting a numerical condition to the targeting, basically. By giving it to say, a Priest, you can win a battle on the first turn by say, doing a CT 3 holy and hitting everyone on the map for 999 damage.

The Last Story is a weird game because I kept thinking it would end at some point but it just kept going on and on.

I eventually got fed up.

It's like the game had too many climaxes or something, I don't know. I've never played a game with such confusing pacing.

It had nice customization and great characters/music but I just hated the combat I couldn't continue with it unfortunately.

One thing that didn't help TLS is that you could only play as characters other than Elza in the tacked-on coop mode.

All of the PC Ys games (Origin, Chronicles, Oath/III, and VI) are in Steam's summer sale. Are they all worth picking up? I've heard some ambivalence on Chronicles.

I absolutely loved Origin and liked Oath in Felghana as well (although I never finished the latter somehow).

I also tried out Ys 1 but it just felt too antiquated for me. The bosses were sometimes too much of trial & error or straight unfair and just not fun. Dropped it halfway through.

So I'd definitely start with Origin if you want to try one out, loved the boss battles and the OST. Just don't expect many RPG elements.

Story, characters, writing are all forgettable.

Ok so I feel empty after finishind DoD 3. This was my first game of the series (not counting NieR), and a lot of questions went unanswered.

My question is: Would I be enlightened if I played DoD1 and 2, or should I play the Intoner's DLCs in 3, or should I just google my questions (which are mainly why did she want to kill the intoners, what are the intoners, and what are they protecting the world from?

Also is the ending, where One's brother says he'll become the real One and form a new religion a reference to something from other games? Same question regarding the qt who says she should've picked another branch

Is playing a different branch enough to understand the story to the fullest? Is it worth playing / reading through the other game's stories?

I know these games are barely JRPGs, but I figured this might be the best place to ask in. Thanks if you even bother reading through this
