If you're playing HoD just conquer and release your small neighbors for easy RP, you can westernize by 1850 or earlier if you get good infamy rolls.

In HPM just put the speed to 5x, reject "winds of westernization" events every time (you'll never see a rebel if you keep "isolation", which "winds of westernization" removes), give Russia and UK what they want in their events to prevent wars, and prepare for the Taiping rebellion. You can westernize by the 1880s without having done anything besides win the Taiping rebellion in ~1850.

Check the files. It's fairly simple, you just have to stick to the same demand figures and split them (or merge them) where goods are meant to fit. Also add production techniques, and calculate input and output costs based on an existing factory. If you can't figure it out yourself, I wouldn't try it though. I got halfway through an overhaul and just ran out of spare time

It absolutely does know how to handle new goods. Balancing is this only issue, although Vanilla is unbalanced enough. Even Iron is a real issue in HPM. As well as coal miners being absurdly wealthy and earning 5 times more than grain farmers.

Ah, right. Well, when you feudalize you should focus on castle infrastructure because it gives castle tax and unlocks the next tiers of castle towns so you can get them ducats rolling in.

Why are you afraid to convert to feudal? Your levy size is going to shrink by a lot but that's about it, if you already have all of Ireland and improved the infrastructure to the point where your vassals will feudalize with you then you should be in the green. Any empty holdings will also get one free city and church, so you might want to feudalize as a new, young ruler so you can benefit from all those +granted fief bonuses you'll get.

The thing is, the longer you wait to feudalize the more of a pain in the ass it's going to get. Tribals are strong and can be for a long, long time. You're eventually going to hit a cap that you won't be able to overcome as a tribal and that's where you'll be better off as a feudal lord. For now, you either settle down with just Ireland for a very safe and easy transition or you use your use army advantage to conquer all of the British Isles and crown yourself emperor before settling down - Scotland, Wales and England are already feudal so you don't have to mass-upgrade holdings there.

Severly nerfed. Since you live so close to the Scots you might want to consider converting to the Scottish culture for their Pikemen bonus, the Schiltron formation. It's absurdly powerful, arguable the strongest retinue and bonus in the game.

Spread tech from whichever borders the most relevant provinces, aka your heartland that has the most counties you want to develop early on. I'd say, go with Connacht for now and then switch to Dublin once it's caught up since they more of less border the same shit anyway.

The Irish has no special tactics AFAIK but heavy infantry is always a solid choice since they tend to be the backbone of your army. A mix of HI and archers should work, it's just that pure archer glass cannon armies don't really work anymore.
