Between good secret rooms, pots, trinkets, golden poops, shopkeepers, natural nickels and dimes, and natural shop sales, the odds of you being able to make a 7-15 cent purchase in the first floor shop aren't that unlikely, and you would know that if you actually played the game for any decent length of time. I had a run recently where I managed to upgrade Bumbo straight to Level 4 on the first floor thanks to special shopkeepers bunched together in a secret room and a lucky dime drop.

Why is The Keeper so fucking worthless? Who the hell play-tested this shit and thought: "Yeah this is perfectly fine and worth playing!" And this is what we get for a whole ARG and hours of greed machine grinding. This guy is weaker than the fucking Lost.

At least the Lost has good unlocks that make him worth playing, while this fucker has nothing. Can't even go into Curse Rooms or take Double-heart devil deals. Did they even put any thought into him?

I've only played about 250 hours total of vanilla and rebirth/afterbirth together myself.
I think afterbirth is worth buying, but a lot of people here would disagree and it's certainly the worst addition so far. The base game was the base game, and WotL and Rebirth added a wealth of content. compared to that Afterbirth is pretty tiny especially for its pricetag.

I got it 40% off during halloween which was like ~7 bucks CAD so it was worth it for me.

Absolutely not. Do all the unlocks in Rebirth and then consider if you want to add a shitty character like Keeper after grinding a few hours in Greed Mode.

Apart from the grinding, Greed Mode is fun, Lilith is fun, and some of the items have nice synergies, but it certainly isnt worth.

Half the shit wasn't in the game because of bugs , held back for amusement values "oh we thought it would be cool to hold it back 109 hours", did shitty elusive imgurs which lead almost nowhere, and concluded with a very limited field of a few people in Eggmund's town.

I use a shitty beat up XBOX 360 controller which lists in the direction you last aimed the joysticks in.

That'd be pretty OP unless the character had a significant detriment. Isaac is already pretty great, and having both of those would almost be like having D6 in every treasure room and boss room, except that you know what it would reroll into.

You'd have to have a real detriment like not being able to take devil deals, or a locked hit point system like the keeper to make anyone else worth playing.
