you guys told me i couldnt judge this game at level 10, then again at level 20, and 30

and now i just went level 40, and i can say after playing the living shit out of this game, that it is like ive been saying from the beginning not even half as good as guild wars 2 which went full free to play at the same exact time!

the whole time from level 0-40 and all my level 10 alts, one of each race and class, this just felt like a hardcore wow wannabe and kept falling short at every turn, pvp is alright though, and dungeons are ok, expeditions are tedious and boring though

my main is an engineer, which is like the warlock class in wow, summoning robots instead of demons, but this is where the game falls short trying to be like wow

why cant you like go around hacking into robots and recruiting them to you summon pool

much like as a warlock in wow you can go around and dominate demons and add them to your summoning pool, that alone would of made wildstar a 10/10 game

my biggest problem with this game is that the story/gameplay its self trys to be like wow in the exclamation over the head, get quest, kill/collect 20 things turn in wash rinse repeat is a fucking relic of the past and garbage

guild wars 2 kills all that, the world in guild wars 2 is alive and active and you can run through shit hapening or make shit happen instead of get quest, do quest, turn in quest bullshit

Level 20 so far. Cleared the first third of Galeras.
Chuas continue to be dicks.
Doms continue to be enablers of their bad behavior.
Exile military have a habit of dying right as they are about to do the thing so you can step in and take the glory.
Noticing a distinct lack of hug-related conversations ever since I left my beginning areas of Everstar Grove and Celestion.

Whatever this thing is, they did a good job of the scale of it to make you appreciate it. Elders may have been a bunch of egomaniacs, but their tech is neat.

Old challenge system:

The old system made it so there was no reason aside from fun to do a challenge after you got the reward you wanted. The new system makes all the rewards shit, but means you can just do the ones you like.

I picked up the quantum harvester once I had enough omnibits. I'm sure it'll come in handy when I decide to change professions, but I probably should have kept saving for the freelancer costume instead.

I'm still new to the game, so I don't quite follow the market yet, but do you think it would have been too OP for it to allow you to harvest non-job materials? Is there any sort of competition for harvesting in areas? I'm in the beginner areas and I'm the only one I see ever gathering anything.

Also, the revolver costume I have now seems more interesting than any gun I've seen so far.
Do they get more interesting later?

Lastly, I am shocked that I haven't run into an Aurin guild called Free Shrugs.

You know, it's odd. I never got into the tree hugger hippy crowd, and I didn't even care that much for Ferngully, but I'm kind of envious of Aurin culture.

It could be that the Aurins actually make an effort to fight for what they believe in, that I've spent enough time in the field to gain an appreciation for nature, or just that I've been hugged maybe once as a kid.

Chances are that I'm just reading into it too much.

Is there an inherent difference between the various mob types (standard, champion, prime, etc.) other than health pools and general difficulty? Do they have better loot tables, or are they just there to help with the monotony of killing weaker enemies?

I haven't noticed anything like that lootwise as I've been leveling, but I'm only around level 30. They do count for more than normal in kill challenges though, I've noticed. Probably to account for how much longer it takes to kill them.
