Besides, I don't know, I feel maybe people are overanalyzing it. I don't think what we have seen is enough to say it contradicts Dr. Light's status as good father and scientist, and even so these are his very first years so it can be justified. And I think there have been some other stuff showing him being a bit clumsy, which is what I'm getting from this sample translations (and in his japanese CD Data his bad point is being gullible, although I don't know how much it can apply to these entries). But maybe I'm overanalyzing too, we will have to wait until we get more information.

The trailers were so neat but I wasn't exactly drawn in by the gameplay. I did however, like some of the concepts and design. I would love to play a Mega Man MMO, but as stated in an earlier thread, it should have factions that aren't split up in such black and white definitions of good and evil that you could play in and it should have some character creation (although you could play as canon characters too)

Shitty graphics. Now that I got that out of the way...

What did you enjoy about it? The only thing I felt they got right was the basic movement. One of the big problems with Sonic throwbacks is that they fuck up physics on how Sonic moves like 80% of the damn time. Beck controls fine and that's about all the good I have to say.

The levels were really meh. It's like they designed it with a character that controls like Megaman X in mind, but then they decided to give Beck the ability to dash infinite times in the air which completely removes any challenge on multiple segments.

The military base was an okay stage I guess, just kinda bland. The bombs really should blow up faster than they do, and they should've had a section where they combined the bombs and the conveyor belts.

The power plant was sloppy as hell. If they bothered to actually have a prompt come up on that sawblade maybe they should've considered how counterintuitive it was to low dash there at all. The low dash in general just feels really superfluous anyway (alongside the action trigger). Even in the power plant level itself it's not like they designed the whole stage around the low dash, that actually would've been kind of a cool idea. Instead they just stuck an instant death trap where you use the low dash once.

The fire stage is probably the most "cohesive" in that it introduces two platforming gimmicks and then combines them at the end (flame throwing enemies and the falling pillars). It's also the only stage that seems like it was designed with Beck being able to dash multiple times in mind.It'd work a lot better if you couldn't just goad the pillars in falling way before you reach them, then you'd actually have to get good at the game. To be fair, you could do this kind of shit with falling ceilings in a lot of the X games too so I guess I'll give them that. Just seems like a waste.

The odd thing about how Nintendo and Namco approached making Mega Man is that they emphasizes his robot-ness more than Capcom ever has. His expressions are more subdued than everyone else, his eyes are LED screens, and he fidgets around when neutral less than ROB even.

Speaking from personal experience, the achievement system was a reasonable benchmark for personal skill, but also an absolute slog to do 1-3 at a time if you want crafting items to finish the endgame accessories.
