Damn those cruisers. Also, with the torp mechanism, it's better to have lesser torps but more damage and speed because then you wouldn't finish torps in 10 minutes while still dishing out damage.

Subs are also fun to kill. Just don't get shot when you do it because I saw a ton of people try to do it and got sniped by invisible BBs.

That's the only bad thing. Staying still and firing is better than moving due to how the aiming circle works.

Also, a BB can stay invisible when firing if no one is there to spot. It gets pretty irritating when you can't spot them because there is a sub close by.

Tier 1, Situational awareness is useful for Cruisers and DD, Basic firing training as well for DDs and Cruisers with 155mm or less guns. Basics of Survivability is debatable for how useful it is for BBs. Rear gunner for CVs
Tier 2, Expert Marksman is universal to everything but CVs

That should get you started on that, by the time you get another 4 points you should know enough to make good judgement yourself.

Side note, the risk of fire/flooding is multiplicative, not additive. So if an upgrade says "Risk of fire -5%" that means if you have a 20% chance of being on fire normally, it only goes down to 19%, not 15%.

are there any videos giving advanced tips on how to play T10 BBs (Montana) well? I keep getting screwed over by torp bombers and Shimas without me being able to do much about it. I'm doing all the basic stuff like angling my ship towards the enemy, turning into torps, aiming at the waterline when someones broadside is exposed, staying near other ships for extra AA support, etc...

When I had Myogi, I generally didn't take long range shots, and tried to stay around other ships.

In that game, I sailed right into the center on big race, my secondaries were possessed and lit up two DD's without issue, and I spent the rest of the game doing massive damage to Cruisers. I decided to brawl, and luckily didn't get focused by everyone and everything

The Kongo is not treating me well at all despite it apparently having better accuracy than the NY. I had much more success with my NY and getting citcrits. I get no citcrits with the Kongo ever.

I just scored 12 citadel hits in my Konigsberg against other cruisers. took me only 3 volleys to kill a phoenix in the matter of seconds, shaving off a little over 1/3 his HP from 2-3 citadels each. Why do so many cruisers HE spam when you can get that kind of potential damage from AP? AP against BBs even do a fair amount of damage and penetrate their armor almost every volley vs their broadside.

On another note, just got the T4 U.S. Catchalot SS. Kind of garbo compared to fully upgraded Type-S but the additional torps are welcome. I think my favorite things to hunt so far are the BBs too busy jerking off in arty mode and other subs. Why do I have so much fun sending other subs to the bottom?

Weirdest thing to happen to me so far is that I went to 'ram' another sub in a shallow dive and I started to surface right as he disappeared off of sonar.

Turns out the guy had the same idea and surfaced a half second before me, so I got stuck beneath him without losing air. My conning tower was half out of the water and that was it. He got gat by an enemy trying to shoot me, got a good laugh out of that.

While his sub sank, I couldn't surface or dive on my own and had to wait for the corpse to slide off of my own sub. Was kind of funky
