And if you really, really want to set a skillbar for entry, you can just make a sinister Ihyll because A) defiled chalice roadblock, and B) most people aren't even capable of entering sinister glyph dungeons because they never picked up a sinister chalice.

You're right that I do judge them by the fight. I like to think that while it is by no means reliable, I can gain some insight. For example, a person just trying to use the same axe spin2win move and who gets desperate into R1's when all else fails is showing me a lack of depth of moveset understanding, and the mastery of an easier technique.

You're definitely right, games today seem to be built around completion. I mean if you set a simple pattern of consuming souls, trying areas, repeating, it isn't a challenge but inevitability that someone could beat any souls game to date. They would just have to level into success.

I guess, I've not run into this before, but Scrubmeta is a pretty damned accurate term for what I'm bemoaning.

traditionally, it's not a problem that needs to be solved, especially if you've already surpassed them.
If they are weak, you'll beat them, scrub tactics or no. isolating yourself from them can extend the problem, since the great teacher is failure. once the scrubs get bodied by good players, they have to get good, and that takes one player out of the scrubmeta and into the "realmeta"
it's slow osmosis, but it's present in most games. if you want them to stop being a scrub, crush them and they'll have to stop eventually.

I agree with you, it's actually impossible to teach anyone anything, so I wouldnt bother spoonfeeding. To learn something requires consent. The best way to "teach" in these sorts of situations i've found is to just beat them and move on, and they'll either learn from it or not.

Even moderately coordinated coop squads are really hard to deal with, especially at high levels where even they will have maximum strength gems fairly often. That's when that health loss becomes deadly.

So I've always wanted a mid-level twinked out character for helping people with bosses and invading, but I'm pretty scrubby at chalice dungeons and also while I'm good at amygdala the level leading up to him is like pure death to me.

Get enough stamina through END or a rune to use the tricked L2 three times.
It's the best way to build beast meter with the claws. Then you can do whatever.
Gets you about 1/3rd of the bar, depending on beasthood.

You are suited to using SKL weapons. Blades of Mercy, Burial Blade, Threaded Cane-- those are a few examples of SKL-based weapons. LHB also counts since it scales highly with both STR and SKL, but it's more of a quality weapon.

Skill-weighted quality. LHB is the best option for sheer damage, Saw Spear is also a good one, but your Burial Blade will strangely get the most out of it because it benefits from all of the offensive stats you've raised; it gets the full bonus of that skill, then also gets that strength and that arc. LHB won't get that 23 arc.

Also, if you level any more, for kosm's sake get your vit to 45.

It's ideal because you will get the same AR with 37/38 or 38/37 for Ludwig's/Stake that you would with 25/50 or 50/25. Softcaps work differently in Bloodborne.

The difference between the two? 25/50 or 50/25 maximizes damage with quality and skill(or strength) weapons, while the former only maximizes damage with quality. You are missing out on a bunch of damage for other weapons that have better STR/SKL scaling.

Each Souls game changes how scaling works slightly, so you always want slightly different builds. The way scaling works in BB, you get 0.5% of your scaling bonus per point 1-10, 3% scaling per point 11-25, 1.4% scaling per point 26-50, then ~0.306% per point from 51-99.

Important numbers: 3% per point 11-25, 1.4% per point 26-50. What this means is that a lot of weapons end up wanting 25 points in their secondary scaling stat BEFORE investing past 25 in their primary scaling stat. E.G., Hunter's Axe has 0.65 Strength scaling coefficient and 0.35 Skill scaling coefficient. So it's a STR weapon, right? Not quite. For a weapon to favor 26-50 Strength over 11-25 Skill, it needs to have more than twice as much Strength scaling as it has Skill scaling. The exact ratio is the same as the difference between the 26-50 scaling compared to the 11-25 scaling, which is 3.0:1.4, or ~2.14. 65/35 = ~1.86. Which means that it will get more damage per point investing in Skill 11-25 than it will investing in Strength 26-50. So you end up with 25 Strength and 25 Skill. At this point, you'll probably still have points left over in your build, so you'll bring Strength up to 50 at most.

For Ludwig's, which has identical Strength and Skill scaling, which one you invest in past 25 doesn't matter for AR. One point in Strength 26-50 is equivalent to one point in Skill 26-50. However, going with a 50/25 build means you can use Strength weapons as back-ups, and going 25/50 means you can use Skill weapons as back-ups, as well as giving you extra visceral damage.

With a STR-focused weapon, it's pretty much always better to do 50 STR, if you are around level 100 you decide between more END or gauging SKL so you have the max AR. Burrito is getting a normal hit in before the visceral. Pic related.

You can clear it at any level, but it comes down to stats. With an arcane character, you need to chain-visceral Martyr since your attacks will hardly do any damage. But if you GIT GUD, you can beat it as early as lvl 4 (Waste of Skin)
