You see, I don't know why people don't think that Source is a valid game engine, when in fact, it is an engine for games.
It's made a shitton of good games, both big and indie.

how do I get inspired to finish my game?

I'm a beginner to coding and I heard I should start with Python, because it's easier to learn. But it seems there isn't many games, or famous software that use it, so i'm not really sure if I should dedicate my time to learn a language I won't use

I wanted to learn C++, but that definitely isn't for begginers

you heard right. If you're learning, go to Python, you can even use PyGame if you wanna start and experiment with something simple. Then you can move on to C/C++

You'll be a better dev if you start at assembly and work your way up. A deeper understanding of how everything works will allow you to optimize better, even in more modern languages
