I'm on Asura. It's very populated. I regularly run into people leveling in areas. Lots of people running around. There's been a recent big migration to Asura due to the sale on server transfers.

Also, we have the /ffg/ LS on Asura now. It's really great having people to chat with and joke around. Soloing is much easier and people are still grouping up. Not exactly the 6 person parties they used to be. But still having that group experience is nice.

That's a good question. I know of 1 person who has stated they aren't resubbing (due to XIV). But I can ask others tonight. We had 9 people total online last night. (Not a ton but pretty good for just setting up the LS a few days ago)

I disagree. They added a Records of Eminence quest where new players can get like 4 Trusts just for Summoning a trust for the first time. Endgame may be unbalanced at the top end, but to have fun, its in a good spot to come back and enjoy.

I'm struggling with this boss rush, for some reason. Help? I was planning to advantilate the 3rd and 4th. My initial thoughts are to ditch cloud (using gilg + some more eggs to get him to 50), or just ditch gilg since he is only needed for 1 set of medals.

The cannon (the third boss) literally can't kill you unless you don't kill it before the laser goes off. Missiles only do 1/2 your HP. Thus, don't bother with mitigation and go ham on it. You can use Gilgamesh as your retaliator instead of Cloud to save a slot.

For the worm, I (although I had plenty of charges of Waterja, each doing 9999 damage) just had my entire party defend and throw out a waterja once the worm popped up or attacked. This way you'll never accidentally hit a hole and take minimum damage/actions used.

Loser child joins army to hopefully get into the elite magic-injected forces, gets magic-injected, but is deemed a failure instead of getting to be like Sephiroth, winds up on the street with nothing. For some reason he and his magic-fuelled delusion take on the memories of someone he hung out with who did get into the elite magic forces (and died).

Joins up with rebels as a mercenary (game start), find out Sephiroth is alive and trying to do bad shit. Turns out he and lots of other magic-injected have Jenova cells, which Sephiroth is using to control them, so he behaves like a betrayer sometimes. Sephiroth manipulates him into giving up the doomsday spell and questioning his life, then falls into the lifestream, a river of bullshit flowing under the earth. Comes out somewhere somehow, is braindead. Falls back in but Tifa helps him find his own personality, and they get out again somehow. Then they go beat up Sephiroth and everything's fine except for the mako reactors hurtling the planet faster and faster toward death in a very short time in the future, happily ever after.

Cloud has regular attacks and a bunch of special attacks: they're shown as his special moves in the Smash trailer. Mostly sword stuff but that blade beam and meteorain are also in his list. Omnislash, his most important and iconic ability that is also the key to truly defeating Sephiroth, was literally just some prize won at an amusement park with no prior significance. Other abilities are purely modular via the materia system which grants spells and commands individually (often growing into related spells and abilities). Cloud starts with Lightning and that's the only materia he could be said to canonically have since the rest is player choice.

Optimally you do whatever, Cloud's good at everything offensive. If covering all party roles is important to you, Cloud is the best endgame magic-user by a much greater margin than he is at physical attacks.

I would start by reading the Trust and Record of Eminence pages a little. You'll want to get Trust magic ASAP and also activate Records of Eminence. You should also join a unity. Just read the page and it will explain it. Apururu is a good one to join.

As for a Blu, spell hunting is never a bad thing.

I haven't found a cheat sheet. But completing the Records of Eminence objectives for completing story missions gives a permanent 10% bonus per mission completed. Completing Reive content in Seekers also gives between 1-3% permanent bonus.
Also, the final chapter in Seekers gives you 3 KI with 30% bonus each so completing that gives you 90% right off the bat. In fact, you get all 3 KI before the final boss fight.

I had completely forgotten I never got my Adventuring Fellow in my entire time playing this game. Unlike Trusts, you can actually have conversations with them and go over battle tactics and be summoned like a trust but once every 6 hours. They can even level up too starting at 30 and all the way to 99.

Then floor 6, kill armored chariot in under 3 minutes, fight rampart in bottom of room to spawn Khimara. After killing Khimara, I go to the final room and kill the bigger Khimara for a guaranteed linen purse

I'd recommend FFCC Ring of Fates awesome story that's slow in the beginning.

FFCC Echoes of Time is okay.

Tactics A2 is a better TA but fairly forgettable.

Revenant Wings is babby's first RTS.

III DS Remake is pretty great but done better on it's own remake on psp/smartphones

IV DS about the same as III DS but with new storylines that was added in.

4 Heroes of Light is a pretty good Prequel to Bravely Default.

In XI, under View House how do you access Mog Safe 2 and gain slots for Mog Locker? I know Mog Satchel is if you have that secondary password device thing, and my understanding for Storage is its slots depend on the amount of furniture in my Mog House? I have three pieces and my Storage is at 3.

Mog safe 2 is something to do with the second floor of your mog house. Which I don't know how to unlock yet. Look it up I guess?

And yes, storage is tied to furniture. Look in the bottom right (?) of items to see how much they add. You can get big urns and stuff that give 8 or so slots for cheap.

Mog locker is tied to Aht Urghan, so if you go there you should be able to unlock it. It requires an upkeep of imperial currency.

Hey all. Week 1 player. Been lurking here for months. And, while I might be risking lots of judgement/downvotes, I wanted to share something with you.

I'm a male thirty-something with a decent job, living in a big city in a small apartment with a girlfriend and a dog. I've not always been great with money, but I've usually had enough earning potential to keep myself from completely tanking my bank account. Oh...and I have a seriously addictive personality.

It started small with FFRK. A Chocobo Gem Pouch for a couple extra stamina refreshes. A Tonberry Gem Pouch for a pull on a decent banner. Soon, I was spending a lot. Enough that I intentionally didn't look at my bank statement to see how much I was actually spending.

But, unfortunately (fortunately), I have a girlfriend. She opened up my computer to check something and my email popped up with an Apple Store receipt...for $84.99. She asked me what it was for and I froze. I muttered something about a game on my phone. She paused and then gently asked, "That's a lot for an iPhone game, isn't it?"

She asked how often I spend money on the game and this is where it gets scary: I had no idea. So we looked. And it wasn't pretty. I had bought three Leviathan Gem pouches that month. Plus a few Ifrit Gem Pouches and a handful of Tonberry Gem pouches. I officially had a problem.

Now, this wasn't going to put me into crippling debt, but it was a really shocking discovery for me. The truly scary thing is that I didn't remember buying half of those pouches. I had just gotten into the habit of putting my thumbprint on the phone, saying a prayer to RNGesus, and then hoping desperately for a rainbow-spangled orb to fly out of Professor Mog's robes. I was so fixated on the "high" of the pull that I would spend without thinking and then hide it from my girlfriend and bury it in the back of my mind.

What's a good way to figure out what gear to use in XI? My reforged empy head is apparently pretty good, I see the i109 version being suggested. But it's also 10 ilevels below my Taeon hat. Is there any reason why a i109 thing would be better than i119? How are the stats weighted?

But dex give you crit rate, or mind gives your slow more potency. Then Magic Attack Bonus and INT interact in weird ways.

Basically, the only way a 109 piece is better than a 119 piece is if the 109 piece has outstanding stats. For example, the Corsair empy hat has amazing ranged accuracy. You could technically get the same ranged accuracy on a taeon piece, but it would cost a lot of gil for augments.

Only if the Taeon isn't augmented. He can augment the Taeon with +20 attk/acc, 5 dw, and 3 crit dmg. That puts them pretty close on even level mobs. On higher, Taeon will will due to the accuracy.

The other thing to consider is empy can't be upgraded to 119 without having the specifc Vagary zone clear

The empy 109 is fine for content up to around 119. Anything above that, you'll want the upgraded Taeon. You can also hang on to the unaugmented Taeon on case you need to swap it for that extra accuracy.
