Well it's lung cancer, he's been smoking like a chimney for close to 20 years now, ever since high school. So probably bad, doc's gotta run tests to see how far along it is. It wasn't my first choice, I've been a total NEET for close to a year with no job prospects, but I've done my research and have a good idea of what mos's I would like to get and what to fight for. My friend is totally being forced into it, it's either that, or bum on couches/the street when they're parents finally boot them out. No skills, no future, but certainly doesn't want to go. I don't know him, it's very hard to give just general tips. I can say for myself, though, that I would never be okay into going to the military. I'm not into military stuff serving country, "protecting" people, learning military stuff is just a lot of useless crap for me, I don't think discipline has much value outside controlling your own will better (which means that when enforced by others just makes me pissed) and I don't think I would adjust to doing legwork all day and wake up at 5 AM every day, never was a physical guy, also always too thin.

You can say to him to keep his mind open, that it can be better than what he thinks, that at least he's doing something and when he starts he'll enjoy it more, that a lot of people start as he's doing and after some time in, start to like it more, I don't know.

Good for you. It's a shame Fallout 4 turned out the way it did. There's still some fun exploration and the story does improve later on, but 80% of the fun in Fallout games has always been the dialogue trees where you unlock unique options based on your skills and perks. Watering that down was an enormous loss.

I think you have to kind of forget it's a Fallout game in order to enjoy it. I think it's good for a Bioware game. I'd say better than Dragon Age. Sadly it's not a Bioware game, it's supposed to be a Fallout sequel.

There's something I remember reading in a Plato dialogue I'm trying to remember, I think it was attributed to Socrates but I'm not sure. But it was, that young people tend to worry a lot about death because they aren't old enough to realize how long life actually is, and by the time you are old enough to die, you have already realized how long your life was, and no longer feel it to be too short.

I can't remember exactly where I read it though, I should look it up, but I think about it a lot. As a young person I don't feel like I'm qualified to talk about whether or not life is long enough. I know that the older I get though, the more comfortable I am with the idea that I won't live forever.

As far as being significant goes, and the desire to leave a legacy, it's not going to actually add years to your life.

As long as someone is unsure of the humanity of the one they are interacting with, they'll be prejudiced. As long as someone's identity is fully revealed, they can't be as honest as they would have been able to be otherwise. It's a catch-22 that will be made worse if artificial intelligence improves.

You could probably find it if you poke around a little.

Whether or not author statements outside the context of a work are "canon" is a matter of opinion. Consider that the finished product KS was subject to editorial scrutiny and some executive choices, so the writers themselves didn't always have the last word on what their stories ended up looking like.

Keep in mind this game was made by a bunch of teenagers from 4chan. Hivemind in particular likes to start shit.

The writer is just one of the people involved in the story though. Consider, for instance, that Aura wrote all of Act One. Suriko wrote Hanako's Act 4. And most routes had lines of dialogue from other writers' routes in them. Have you heard of the whole "Hanako A / Hanako B" thing?

It's not as simple as a writer being the God of the character whose route he was responsible for. There's more to it than that.

Emi's was right up there too. I actually thought about that before posting. Especially the high amount of sex and the fights which is exactly how high school relationships are.

Hanako's actually felt more like an adult relationship, with the dates and the sleepovers and the booze. I am pretty sure cpl_crud is one of the oldest people on the dev team so that would make sense.
