Why don't you have a real job, anon? Do you really expect to strike it rich making derivative pixel platformers?
>>
Last thread recap: Gamedev in a van, is it possible or an autistic pipe dream?!
>>
>>122430569
Literally all you need is a solar panel and a cheapass laptop, sounds easy to me.
>>
Where's your vulkan
>>
>>122430361

>>
>>122432834
hssss
>>
>>122432386
>cheapass laptop
never again
>>
>>122433037
i only say that because solar panels really don't give that much power, and a dinky laptop is probably the only thing you'll be able to run
>>
>>122432386
>devving on a literal potato
sourcefam detected ahahahahaha
just because you can dev on your mom's compaq laptop doesnt mean you should
some of us have self respect
give up now
or maybe just post another 1024px screenshot for us to laugh at

ahahahahahahahahahahaha
lol
>>
Living in a van and spending all your time on a dinky laptop trying to make a game would be such a sad life to live.
I'm so thankful my parents are cool with my living with them still, I can make some money without needing to work full time and I can still dev on my off days.
>>
>>122433763
It sounds sad, but I don't really think it would be.
What are you going to do when your parents kick you out?
>>
living in a van doesn't seem practical

how would one pay for gas and food? how to deal with no having access to a shower, toilet, or internet?

Also no mailing address can make like difficult. Sure you could have a PO box, but that also means you need to stay near that box to check it from time to time.
>>
>>122432420
Soon hopefully pls ;_;
>>
>>122434178
Maybe it's my minor claustrophobia. I wouldn't want to stay in that van for long periods of time.
Honestly I don't think my parents would kick me out. My family is all fairly close. And when I do leave I'd just get a small apartment and find a roommate or gf to help with rent
>>
>>122434509
there certainly must be places where you can pay to shower. like a gym. for toilet there are public ones and also going somewhere where you pay for, like a gym or something similar. internet you can have wifi its 2015 bro. and the po box you can just do what you said and go there periodically to check it.

its possible but yea its not practical. i wouldnt want to do it
>>
>>122434761
just drive it out into the wilderness and chill under the stars
camp out for the rest o f your days, living off the land
build yourself a devcabin while you sleep in your van
>>
>>122434509
>internet
I've been thinking of shutting off my interenet, it's just too much of a distraction.

As far as mail goes, do you really get anything good in the mail anyways?
Being homeless doesn't mean you can't have a job. You can use that to support you. Even a minimum wage job could probably keep you going permanently.

For laundry, dry cleaners
>>

>people actually advising eachother to live in vans because of shitty aggy daggy memes

also for the record, when I was having a bad time with life, I ran the numbers for van living vs getting an apartment. the van is a worse option by far for living on the cheap

if your parents are tired of your neet ways and are kicking you out, just join the military. they even give you an internet connection and you can shitpost all you want from the comfort of a barracks

I went to a military boarding school for a few years, and it thoroughly convinced me that the military life is not one that I'd ever like to endure.

start-up costs are in the thousands because of all the shit you have to buy, and if you don't already have a van, that's several Gs right there

insurance and gas cost a few hundred each month, more if you have to run the AC/heater a lot. add on gym membership memes and a bit of extra for maintenance and it gets to be a fair amount

there's also difficulties associated with van living that don't have a dollar value but still manage to be prohibitive, like cooking safely, bathing regularly, not being chased away by cops/security and angry homeowners, etc.

meanwhile, my first lease was a cool 250/mo, utilities included. it also came with a fridge and oven
>>
Trying to pick up C# so I can script in Unity. Looking at the tutorials Unity puts up, and some I've seen on Youtube, the default/go-to environment seems to be Monodevelop but mine defaults to Microsoft Visual Studio. Monodevelop seems more handy because there are shortcuts in the Unity tutorials for looking through documentation within Monodevelop. Is there a default I need to change within Unity, or do I need to download Monodevelop and set is as a default for C# or what?
>>
>>122439640
you should move into a van
>>
>>122439376
>$250/mo
Where do you live? The absolute cheapest place I can find here is $800+
>>
>>122439376
When you're done with whatever you lived in you can resell it to return what you spent. You are also forgetting that living in an apartment, you "usually" have to have a vehicle to drive to work. Therefore, you aren't saving on gas or insurance. Also a pool membership for showers is really cheap. You can buy a camp stove for pretty low as well.

Plus the best bonus is you can travel whenever you want and don't have to deal with slumlords charging you double what places are worth.
>>
>>122439376
in the city I live in the only way to get rent cheaper than 1500 a month is to room with multiple people. Most non-shitholes are 2100+ a month for a studio. My mortgage and HOA combined is less than if I were renting a comparable structure.

As for vans, it really depends how nice a vehicles you want, but any vehicle you buy is going to need modification to be comfortable to live in, and even a very large van will really only be big enough for a bed and some storage. Most of your devving will have to actually take place outside the van.

Now if you could buy an old bus on the other hand...
>>
>>122439376
in aus 250 a week for a shithouse in a shit suburb is cheap. thats 1g a month. and a nissan vannette can be had for 500 bucks. why the fuck would u get a gym membership.

no insurance beyond a car rego. and u dont fucking run ac or heating u eat food and rug up unless its below negative 10. i used to live negative 3 no heating all winter. and 38 to 42 in summer no ac. thats in celcius too. its not uncomfortable so long as u got a breeze spray water and dont wear much and stay in the shade.

I live in a big city. I had roommates though to pay that little.
If you're only finding $1500+ apartments with 10 roommates sharing the lease, maybe you're bad at looking?? have you tried craigslist

>>122439936
>I don't understand how auto sales work
very few people want that sort of van with the kinds of modifications you'll have done to it, and it will have depreciated in value a lot just for the van itself, you ruining it aside

alternatively, if living in a van is so nice and so cheap, why aren't you guys already shitposting from an E250?
>>
>>122438190
I had very few freedoms, I had to answer to complete idiots simply because they had higher rank, a few "bad apples" in the platoon always ruined it for everyone (often enjoying it), and contact with my family and the outside world was close to nonexistent. The whole experience was just extremely taxing psychologically.

That's the Source shitposter, anything he says is only part true or is completely out of perspective because he purposefully leaves out a lot of context. Like that $250 is probably his contribution and he had multiple other people contributing more to the rent.

If you see someone mentioning joining the military, shitposting and gym memberships it's better not to reply.

The cloversdev steam was super helpful for me. It made obvious a lot of ways to improve the game. I liked that he thought it was weird and was a little intrigued by it. Many updates are on the way. Also, some bros in the steam chat suggested increasing the screen size, which makes it play a lot better. Feels less cramped.

This; The cheapest apartment I've ever seen was 4k a month. It would have been 1k each with one roommate per bedroom.

A van is how much, like 300 dollars? maybe an extra 20 for all the camping stuff to sleep comfy if you get it at WalMart? After that, you don't have to pay for anything ever again. Not even internet.

Enjoy lining your local slumlord's pockets, wagekeks! I'll be enjoying the great outdoors and unlimited freedom to dev my dream games.

Given how fucked up the housing situation is in some places, it's a pretty ligitimate choice (although not socially acceptable).

You can get so much further in life if you stop worrying about how other people MIGHT percieve you.

Seriously you have people living in silicon valley and whatnot barely getting by because of how much the rent vampires are draining them. Anywhere else and they'd be goddamn rich.

What system are you going for?
If its a simple game, a cooldown is good enough.
If there are long charging times, a cooldown is good enough.

If it's more action oriented, have both.
A cooldown to prevent the user from spamming the same spell over and over.
And stamina to limit how many times the user can cast spells one after another before burning out.
>>
>>122445674
im not going to use both since they are the same. if i want to prevent repeated casts ill just say repeated casts it cost double the previous cast's amount of mana for instance. and yea its more action oriented

It seems like one of the few states that would cause the universe to throw an exception

Every person is born with a particular capacity to learn how to make a game, including all elements of it such as programming, art, and music. Nobody can really agree on how to quantify this ability, but rest assured it does exist and varies from person to person. Just like the same way that some people are taller and faster and stronger, or shorter and slower and weaker, there are people who are good devs and bad devs.

This capacity mostly affects the rate at which you can just like make game, not what kind of games you can make. A 10 year old with mastery of gamedev is impressive only because he managed to do what most people could do in 20 years or more.

Sure, this might tempt you to strive to become the next Phil Fish or Notch or whatever. Well you probably CAN do what they can do given enough time. Depending on how good you are you can maybe prove one of their results given 20 years of hard work. But at that point it isn't even worth it since those guys can do what took you 20 years to realize in 5 weeks or so.

In other words, its possible to be a yesdev if you work hard enough. It's also technically possible to dig the Grand Canyon with a spoon. It only makes sense however, to do it if you have the shovel of God which has been given to only a few select people on the planet. So you might as well just walk away and let the specialists handle it and go play video games or jack off.

If you can't see yourself being a successful gamedev and prop it up to be some mythical achievement you're going to stay a nodev, like a virgin who has convinced himself getting laid is some grand impossible dream. I'm adding modding support to my game and I'm thinking of how to let people import stuff that can't be serialized in text (like sprites). For an animated sprite, what's better:

a) Each frame is a separate image
b) Spritesheets, but you have to download some proprietary program to specify each frame in text format
c) Spritesheets, but you have to specify each frame in some text format I'll make up

guys quick question here for 3d

is it ok to seperate a plane from an obect because you want to give it an edge loop, but doing so would of otherwise put an edge loop on the entire mesh creating more verts. or will that just be an ngon? seems easier to seperate objects a lot to have less verts even if its the same piece

Cave Story came out before the huge influx of indie games, it was also really well made for the time (for an indie game) and it had some new ideas. If Cave Story came out today I doubt it would do as well.

For example go listen to half the Podcasts that were popular 10 years ago, they did really well in a new medium but if they just came out today they wouldn't do very well at all. Everyone has a podcast.

I'm used to the engine, kind of my comfort zone. The camera issues are easily fixed though. And for the movement i tend to add my input in the Update() and physics stuff in the FixedUpdate() to get rid of the "wobbly" collision detection.
>gif related
Yeah. i know it has issues in pixel perfection. but it isn't a big deal once you play it in a build. your screen will have pixels enough for my game.

>but then I need a program to manually create metadata for the sprite sheets (set frames and animations, annotate with collision info such as bounding boxes and circles, etc)
>decide to create one myself in C#/WPF
>haven't used C# for like 2 years
>never used WPF
>get stuck immediately
fuck, where do I even begin.
Is WPF a bad choice if I just want to create a program that
>load batches of sprites and place them together in a single sheet
>allows me to create, resize and rotate rectangles and origin points on top of the sprite sheet
>parent/child shapes together in a tree view (x frames per animation, collision boxes per frame) and let me select them from this view
>play preview of selected animation
?
Is there a better alternative to quickly be able to throw a user interface together?
>>

Holy shit that's why my collision is wobbly. I never thought of it being due to Update rather than FixedUpdate.

What do you think the ideal party/enemy group size is for a turn-based battle game? I'd like to have sizable battles, but not to the point where management becomes of a chore only autists will appreciate.

I'm thinking maybe 4 party members, 6-8 enemies (at one time, at least -- maybe have reinforcement waves like x-com). Opinions?

Do you think that's a bad thing? Four characters, that is.

It's definitely the standard. I'm just worried that more than that will only make things tedious, not more enjoyable.

Should probably mention that this is a fantasy game. Half melee, half ranged classes. Defense/healing is going to be untraditional (healer units/only status healing curatives instead of HP/MP potion guzzling).

The goal right now is to get a mech made, and then the combat screen so I can actually check how this is going to work.

I want to get a basic prototype working asap before doing any sort of worldbuilding stuff because once that's done I'll actually have a game instead of just as simulation program with a bunch of pre-ordained interacting data.

Reversy traps, that make your controls reversed. Darkness traps that reduce what you can see. Turnips/carrots that are secretly booby trapped.
Another bunny that you have to race to get their first. A farmer that instagibs you if you get too close.

A crow that picks up turnips and carries them to another part of the level/that you have to try and intercept.

You play the traps, not the rabbit. The rabbit's trying to steal the carrots and you've got to use a limited budget of contraptions to aim it towards a more traditional rabbit trap, which I haven't implemented yet, that has been poorly placed before the beginning of the level.

Dark Souls was never even difficult to begin with. You literally can't even lose. The only difficult part is not knowing what anything actually does because the game is "cryptic".

It was only perceived as being difficult because the concept of not sucking, and actually learning how to play adapt to the mechanics of a game just blew the minds of the mainstream. Playing easy AAA shovelware for almost a decade essentially lobotomized your average "gamer" faggot.

So to take advantage of this rep with 2, they just setup retarded trap scenarios where you end up dying because you got ganked by four enemies you could have never even predicted were going to be coming, instead of actually just being bad at the game and needing to make real improvement when it comes to tackling it.

So I scrapped the scoring system I had based on feedback from demo day. Instead of a numeric score, you can now get either 1, 2, or 3 exploding nicks, depending on how many bombs you have left at the end of the level. Thoughts on how this looks? The entire game is just groups of enemies clustered up in tight corridors. It's been like a year since I've played it, but I definitely remember this frequently being the case.

One place that sticks out in particular is that one room in that castle area, you open the door and like five fast attacking faggots start mobbing on you. That's not even something you can predict would be happening. You have to know that's going to happen before you can even be prepared for it.

You're right, it's not entirely unfair. I think it's just not an actual challenge.

The difficulty doesn't come from fighting an unfamiliar enemy, having to learn their patterns, when to attack/heal whatever. There is no learning process that comes from overwhelming someone with an unexpected mob of lesser enemies. It's hardly even a test of reflexes. You're just moving backwards and swinging until they're dead, if the initial surprise didn't throw you off to begin with.

instance_create( x, y, obj_name); is what i'll be using, but what do I put the x + y as?

In order to have it then drop onto the nearby surface, should I just apply physics to it? So it's created at the players co-ords and then drops onto the surface and gets on with its life?

If it was juicy and priced at like 2.99 people might buy it. If you're making an indie platformer I'd shoot for 3.99 -> 7.99 depending on graphics quality from supermeatboy -> Trion.

That's just my opinion for platformers anyways other genres have much different specifications.

Having only worked on 2D games, 3D is surprisingly intimidating. I've downloaded Unity and started messing around with it, but as my first foray into the realm of engines, I'm so lost.

Are there any good tutorials that actually give you a good survey of the engine? Not just "do this" and then you have a thing. That's not learning.

I really want to make a 3D game (and not even a complicated one), but I don't know how to start.
>>
>>122473689
Do it in reverse. The Nicks appear when the explosions happen.
>>
>>122473775
Alright, thanks, I'll see what I can do.
>>
>>122473774

>>
>>122473689
The Nicks appear in order and with each one there's a higher note played, then there's a victory tune, then they explode
>>

protip: unity3d is a 3d engine, it's good at 3d stuff. it can do 2d, poorly. if you want a 2(.5)d game, use a suitable engine, which is not unity.

I've looked at them, but they are making very specific things. I kind of don't want to deal with the editor and would rather do things programmatically, I think. That's what I'm used to anyway. But maybe I'm just frustrated with the newness of everything.

>>122474484
Definitely want a 3D engine. Thanks though!
>>
>>122473774
some of the official tutorials are good but many of them are pretty useless
http://catlikecoding.com/unity/tutorials/
try the first two tutorials and then skip to the FPS tutorial to get some basic idea

afterwards you will want to look up some specific video tutorial such as "how to shoot projectiles" on youtube and pray that you will stumble upon a good tutorial from which you will learn some of the workflow
>>

>>
>>122474745
The editor is great and it isn't all about dragging shit into the scene. You can do most things programatically and still use the editor to your advantage.

Do the first 4 or 5 tutorials, they will be a huge help. Then you can do stuff your way from there

>Are there any good tutorials that actually give you a good survey of the engine? Not just "do this" and then you have a thing.

a-anon-kun, i have bad news. unity documentation is trash, most of your knowledge will be gleamed from off topic forum posts and tutorials off offhandedly mentioning some feature and then moving on with their boring and irrelevant train of thought while you're mashing <-, eyes bulging slightly, going 'wait what the fuck since when was that a thing i needed that 5 months ago was it already there yes it was fuuuuuuck'

>>122474745
>I kind of don't want to deal with the editor
you pretty much lose all the interesting features of unity if you do that, turning it into a gimped undergrad project with some neat shaders stapled on
>>
>>122474745

Trying to do things the way you're used to rather than submitting to the new workflow might be counterproductive. When starting out it's a good idea to let Unity do some prostate-tickling and see if you like it.

In practice I do most stuff in Unity programmatically, but the editor is incredibly powerful for debugging and quick prototyping, as well as for asset creation once you start extending it. Dragging stuff into a scene comes up very rarely except when starting out.

How would one handle events triggered by actors but you want the result to be handled by a third party?

Example: I have a physics-simulated body that, when colliding, calculates and deals damage to whatever it collided to. When two of these collide they would both end up running that function and applying damage twice.

How would I handle this? Ideally something would detect all physics collisions between bodies and handle them, but also having the physics actors themselves trigger an event on collision would work too. Problem is I have no idea how to implement this. Listeners maybe? Still need each physics body to trigger the event then though.

progress on the runDiagnostics method. I also refactored most of the chassis class properties for armor into a partsPiece list.

This should make it so each side a specific parts armor can be damaged separately. my design goal is for over penetrating armor to go through in a direction and damage components on the way out or for the projectile to get trapped inside the mech if it can't penetrate out the other side causing internal damage. By aligning internals and part structure via anatomical measurements there should be a pretty complex process of mechs being damaged.

Right now I've only developed a rough diagnostics method but I actually plan on how specific and the layout of diagnostics to be based on the operating system/computer components and the display to be based on the cockpit.

Is there an alternative to alarms in game maker?

It seems like a really complicated and clunky way to do something simple, having to set up alarms seperately to the code etc.

Example, I want there to be a brief period where the character in this webm can't be picked up again so that you can't spam it by accident and drop/place it infinitely like in the webm.

I don't really have any idea how to do that, other than maybe a timer after the mushroom is created and only being able to pick it up again when the timer has run out.

I think the whole "pixelation" effect is called, well, just that. The "star" shape comes from from restricting the shader to affect a specific portion from the center point, and make everything else black.

This is roughly what happens in the (lua) code: http://pastebin.com/bNQ0PEAZ

In the main loop you essentially just have to update the "intensity", "whitening" and "radius" externs up until they reach specific values. Intensity should probably start from 16 and go up to somewhere 20000, whitening starts from 1 and goes down to 0, and the radius starts from 1 and goes somewhere to 50k.

At the start of that gif I drew two rectangles and kept shrinking them up until they formed the initial cross shape.

no and I don't have a triangle or circle key on my keyboard anyway. consider using button icons with some kind of background instead of a character. also I don't think a lot of gamepads use PS3 style buttons, it's usually letters or numbers.

Brackets are a must here, coloring them and their contents wouldn't be a bad idea either.

If it's in any way possible, I'd recommend detecting the type of gamepad and display buttons accordingly. You'd essentially just have to make cases for X360/XBone buttons, PS3/PS4 and then everything else (with either in-game action icons or numbers). Just query what gamepads are connected, check their names against some patterns and go from there.

If that's not possible, make that ^ into a proper triangle.

most gamepads use ABXY or numbers. in any case, I'd make it a colored circle with the icon in it rather than just a normal piece of text to better signify "you are in Gamepad Mode and the game is expecting gamepad inputs" because tbqh I thought the bubble meant Y, B and O and then some weird character on the keyboard rather than Y, B, Circle and Triangle.

Kinda like how XCom EU2012 has the default X to switch weapons, or X on a gamepad to switch weapons. They're not the same input, so if the game thinks you have a gamepad in, pushing the X key doesn't work. Little interface things matter

Trying to piece together a list of shit I need for a new game (simple 3D).
>SDL2 for input, context handling and loads of useful shit
>Bullet for physics
>Assimp for model loading
>Raw OpenGL for graphics (seems like an interesting part to implement myself, instead of going with something like Ogre, which also seems a bit hard to integrate with all the other libs at first sight).
>Recast/Detour for navigation
Would that work together? Anything else that would be useful?

I'm trying to find a balance between doing things myself and not making things too hard on myself. I tried gamedev in C++ a couple of times before but I always stranded really early on when I started to realize the immense scale of even something very simple when doing almost everything yourself.

so I'm working on a chatlog feature right now for an in game ui chatbox. the basic idea is to have the chatbox a set size at a set position and then to display strings from a list with a specified length for each string that fits within the chatbox. I can then use a counter to croll up and down the chatlog whenever the player has the chatbox selected (highlighted) and they can use the arrow keys to navigate it.

The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to cut the substrings short if a word is going to get interrupted. though I just thought of something.

Nah, I'm fine with cartoony and thus not very realistic stuff.
As long as it looks alright. Maybe some shitty low poly art. At least as placeholders. If it ends up being an actual game I might consider finding an artist to redo the models and textures.
I also picked 3D because it seems like an interesting thing to do (I do have a CS degree so I'm probably not a complete programming retard) and would give me much more flexibility in experimenting with viewpoints and other stuff.

>>122491590
Well the same thing can be done with 3D graphics, though the programmer art models there would be a bit more involved. The process of modeling and skinning itself isn't too hard. It's just that it's difficult to make it look good.

Well, if you're using Love2D, these are essentially what I used for reference:

http://www.geeks3d.com/20130705/shader-library-circle-disc-fake-sphere-in-glsl-opengl-glslhacker/

One "gotcha" you need to keep in mind is that Love2d uses a few aliases for a couple of GLSL keywords, which you can find here:

Dicking around with data structures really has very little to do with good quality code.

Writing good software requires way more than being good at 'tricky' programming where you figure out little patterns or whatever ("Hey anon, print out all the permutations of this string!")

I've seen god like programmers that are great at that shit but the code they write is so garbage from a practical point of view its nearly useless

The hard part about writing software is making it robust, stable and easy to work with... not regurgitating first and second year CS course content. What the fuck is the point of a degree if you only need to know that kind of stupid shit to get past an interview screen?

You can memorize most of the problems (or enough of the problem solving methodology) to do okay at interviews... that's why there are entire books dedicated to it.

Try writing an API some time that other people need to use. Or try to figure out why the documented behavior of a function you are calling works perfectly on your platform, kind of works on this other platform, and doesn't work at all on the third platform. Or try to debug some really obscure-happens-once-every-5-hours-randomly problem on software that needs to be up 24/7.

(I suppose) when you go into an interview, you aren't given a paper with a bunch of problems on it and another paper and a pen to write down your answers

you are evaluated on how you approach stuff
throwing your arms up and going all "the fuck man, do you know who I am? I'm the motherfucking writer of homebrew"

in an interview at imperial for undergrad, the guy said "I'm gonna give you a problem you won't be able to solve", the point was not to test how well you can regurgitate math facts, the point was to test how you approach things

likewise, your train of thought might be "what the fuck does inverting a tree mean", but you work through it and communicate

It's called selective memory. By having a dev publicly deride them for shitposting their minds snapped and now he's all they can talk about. They even repainted their memory to believe agdg was some kind of paradise before the anti-anime shitposters came.
>>
>>122430361
any unityfage use photon? this is driving me fucking crazy i cant for the life of me get any of the animations to work when viewing from another console, ive tried different methods and pretty much copied shit word for word

its written like this right?

public void OnPhotonSerializeView(PhotonStream stream, PhotonMessageInfo info) {
if(stream.isWriting)
{
stream.SendNext(animator.GetBool("grounded"));
stream.SendNext(animator.GetBool("isRespawn"));
}
else
{
animator.SetBool("grounded", (bool)stream.ReceiveNext());
animator.SetBool("isRespawn", (bool)stream.ReceiveNext());
}
}

why the fuck isnt it workimng, ive been messing with this all day and i cant even get the player to look like its running or jumping, are there any other methods i can use to make other players animate, tried using RPC's but its lagging to hell and just generally being shit and Photon Animator View does absolutely nothing

>>122497983
Hate and obsession are two different things. Something about him causes them to obsess over him and as has already been shown follow him into other boards and follow his youtube videos intended for other boards. That's called obsession, not hate. Obsession over others is usually caused by psychological insecurity. It's complex.
>>
>>122498214
I saw the same thing happen to googs to a lesser extent. Rotate tried literally forcing people to care about him which was funny and backfired.
>>
>>122498214

>>
>>122497628
No this post right here is the subtle saboteur himself, and yet he still claims that mothdan 'caused it all'. Mothdan isnt REAL you sheep. they are effectively all the same guy. Its like in first Harry Potter, when they think the evil guy is that turban wearing weirdo, but really it was Voldemorts face on the back of his head. Mothdan and the all the other "shitposters" are the same guy/belong to the same organization. Back in the older days of 4chan people understood this and could call out the subtle saboteur at a moments glance. Now you have a lot of redditors coming here that dont remember what it was like, so they think guys like "mothdan" are new developments in the world of shitposting. Your boards are being subverted, trust no one. not even yourself

>>
>>122497551
>the point was to test how you approach things
I hear this thrown out a lot but there are plenty of interviews that will fail you if you fail to reach a certain conclusion.

Also saying "oh we just want to see how you think!" like they can splay your brain open and assess how you solve a problem in the span of like 30 minutes is fucking absurd. Its either super arrogant for interviewers to believe they can get a grasp of how someone's problem solving methodology and ability in a short amount of time or just sheer ignorance for them to think they will gain something useful from observing the process

Unless the candidate spergs out and throws a tantrum you aren't going to get a lot of usable information. The interview process is a joke when your interviewers act as psychologists

It is the easiest way. But no one here is dumb enough to make a multiplayer game because it's too much work.

And make sure your animator isn't getting its state set anywhere else. Try some debug lines to make sure everything is firing and data is being replicated.

Your code looks fine from the small snippet.

You are more or less onto how it works.
Its not practical, but its cheaper.

>>122430569
You are talking about living in a camping wagon.
The upsides is that you will have about the same space as a regular apartment.
The downside is that you need to buy it, pay car license if its part car, part car is more practical, and you still need to stay at a camping site in most cases.
You will most likely commute to the store via a bike, and carry wares via a backpack.
Even if you have a shower inside of it, and refilling the water is easy, getting a gym membership will most likely be more practical in the long run.

Washing clothes is a big issue since it won't be big enough to dry the clothes inside of it. So drying is the biggest issue.

Internet will be a huge issue unless mobile broadband has unlimited plans.
