People, I'm kinda lost.

My character want the best for the Wasteland. He's your standard neutral-good vet you use for a first play-through. Roaming the Wastelands with Curie, helping people and the Minutemens whenever he can.

But the Institute really did nothing wrong, and is the best hope for the Commonwealth. No one can say otherwise.

So on one hand, I want to play as your standard pro-Synths player character, helping the Wastelands and whatnot, but on the other hand, I want to side with the Institute because it's the best hope for humanity.

Will siding with the Institute make Curie or my followers angry ? Are there any reason to not join the Institute ? Is it even an important choice, or is it like Skyrim where you can side with everyone and get out of it just fine ?

I saw someone's screenshot and the lighting was really warm, but the amber coloured hanging lamps are kinda bulky and don't emit much light.

I've made my main base in the Red Rocket station, fixed it up real nice and all.

I tried to put in a water pump because free healing, but ever since I put it and a turret in it's been getting attacked whenever I fast travel to it.

Poorly. You have to wire each block manually. It is done that way so that you can wire them individually and make pictures or whatever by wiring certain ones to a terminal and picking a color, wiring others to a different terminal and picking another color. Massive pain in the ass, and I'm not creative enough to actually make a picture.

Being able to auto-connect all of them and have some pre-set pictures or modes like Tetris or something on there would have been nice. Also, I went so far over my build limit I basically dismantled the entire settlement just to do that. ALSO, they need one power EACH. I built FIFTY FUCKING FOUR GIANT GENERATORS to make that shit work.

The locations are all varied and so interesting, its really fucking good.
I already explored a metro station , then found this one, Andrew's station I think, goes deep undreground, had a unique named enemy ( maybe was part of a quest I dont know ) pic related. There was lockers next to the ring with boxing gloves, knuckle and buffout.

Also just finished the drug deal quest, got tons of drugs, disappointed with the ending of the quest though, but it was very fun.

If the next TES has dungeons on this level its going to be amazing. Skyrim had rehashed forts with the same bandits / necro every single time, the locations in FO4 all tell a different story.
Maximum immersion for me.

Fuck the melee Super Mutants that throw a molotov in a split second and cripple my legs every single time though, but I guess thats survival for me.

Best part of 4 was they made it easier than ever for modders and gave them a higher foundation to work from.
I'm sure as long as modders aren't lazy fucks and kids who do nothing but release terrible as fuck retextures for years to come the game may surpass New Vegas with the right mods. I fear for the worst, however :
Instead of unique mods building off the already in-place weapon modding system and power armor system the most we'll get from content-wise mods will likely be just rips from previous NV mods that look terrible and out of place in the new engine, and rips from other games that also look terrible and out of place. This is basically what the grand majority of all content mods for Skyrim were after all, and Fallout's modding community is only slightly better.

The power resource will be red. You only have to wire them to the terminal, with the way power works, they will also be powered by the terminal (Because you have to wire the terminal to a power source to get it to work).

In hindsight, if you want a picture, it might be best to just put a bunch of blocks down separately and color them, then move them onto the picture as needed. Trying to wire them when they are already joined together would suck.

The doctor claims you can't tell a synth from a human physiologically, despite most synths' bodies being clearly robotic in nature, which made me think the Compound was basically a witch hunt, paranoia fueling more or less random murders of people the Compound convinced themselves were synths. She says you can't tell them apart any way but psychologically so they made the SAFE test as an experimental way of telling synths from humans, and since they decided that the test had a margin of error that means they're using some arbitrary control variable (probably their gut feeling) to decide when the test is right and wrong.

It Bethesda actually gave a shit about Fallout and put any effort into making its world consistent in their games, I'd say my suspicion is that the Compound has yet to catch an actual synth or they'd know they were androids physiologically, and has exclusively caught, tortured and killed actual humans, but it could also just be a Bethesda oversight that synths are obviously synthetic except when the Compound finds them when they're totally humans with blood and guts and shit.

What could be causing these bizarre spawns that cause, say, deathclaws, cazadores, powder gangers and coyotes to spawn in the middle of goodsprings? Why does my bed count, water, power, defense drop by 70-100% every time I leave?

Lack of actual content and reliance on modding and slight changes to what little content there is to create the illusion of more content. The same gun with a longer barrel and a scope isn't new content.

I don't want to sound like someone who is just out to find something to hate, but I have a hunch that if Obsidian was managing Fallout 4 then power armor would have model variants, all mods having some aesthetic including inclusion into the HUD, many more base weapons and power armor models, and a great deal more competent building system.


I do have to hand it to Bethesda though, the majority of available companions are very good- some of which surpass NV's companions entirely.
