Okay, I figured it out. I basically said fuck it and started stabbing the fuck out of him when he was still going on about his shit at his stall in Bizarro Riften. He ran back to the rock and vanished again, and I followed, and arrived back in Normal Riften, at which point he ran to the stall he was supposed to be at, everyone gathered around him, and everything proceeded normally.

I've wanted to learn more about the games lore for a while, and take more notice of the different characters and groups etc.

I was thinking of playing through and trying to read all the books in the game. And taking more notice of different characters, as I haven't been too attentive in the past.

But I don't know. It could end up being boring I'm not sure how to make it fun? Also I know I'd probably not remember what I read, not unless I took notes or something.

Whether I play skyrim again with that in mind, or not, I would like to learn a bit more anyway, at least before TES VI comes out.

If it's lore you're looking for, uesp.net is a good place. It has all the books in the game, plus a lot of other stuff.

Download a journal mod. Think about how your character would think of situations, then write it down. Try to think of how your character conducts himself or herself in different situations, and how they talk/write.

I breathed new life into one of my characters by making a generic paladin-type into a haughty Meridia worshiper and a bit of an Ayleidaboo. While I made a lot of choices that lined up with what my previous characters did, the motivations behind those actions & how my character reacted to the outcomes made all the difference.

Open Cities uses those rocks as a way of storing a route to the original worldspaces in case a mod needs to use them for whatever reason

Looks like something is overwriting Open Cities' version of that quest so Brynjolf is pathfinding to his original position in original Riften instead of the Riften duplicate they built outside.

Open Cities is a mod that has a lot of these conflict issues.

I don't get the complaints about glitches. I'm almost 40 hours in my playthrough and I've had a few, but nothing more than all the other Bethesda games.

Its a "good" fallout game but has no replayability. All the fun "perks" you had in previous Fallouts are gone and replaced by Vanilla-Skyrim style perks (Increase damage by X%)

Its worth playing through once, but you get all the factions shoven into your face barely 2 hours into the game and the world is really tiny. Its worth a pirate, but not the full price.

Yeah, that's the other concern. For all I know, the stuff I'm referencing from old Frostfall is stuff that's now part of Campfire and works totally differently.

The new additions are definitely nice and interesting, but I'm just not willing to put in the grind to completely rebuild my patches and settings to accommodate the new version, so I think I'll stick with 2.6 for now.

Just took a look at Frostfall3's description and changelog etc. I never really liked the campfire and camping aspect of Frostfall 2.x, so that a whole mod around that is now required kinda sours the taste. Not sure how well the simplification of exposure translates into gameplay, though the promise of it running faster does seem tempting. The perk-trees look more retarded than vanilla skyrim with useless pre-requisite and idealess "more X" perks. Gonna wait until he releases 3.1 with the gear-inspection tool before i download and test it anyway.

Hey uh, I had a question about damage/armor rating
I feel like I'm doing too much damage/taking too much damage. I know that you're likely to be beaten to a pulp in Skyrim unless you're wearing heavy armor, but I feel like someone with a greatsword can oneshot me while my time to kill is far, far too fast on average enemies such as Dwemer guards and bandits. Thing is I don't want the game to get to the point where I can kill everything too easily, but I dont want to have to be reloading a save every 10 seconds because I die before I can kill something.
I have ~200 mods installed but off the top of my head the ones that could affect this are ASIS and SPERG.
Would changing the game's difficulty (Vanilla option in the menu) be a reasonable solution?

Changing the difficulty is basically a damage modifier on both sides, either in favor of you (you do more damage, they do less damage) or vice-versa.

SPERG and ASIS definitely could be contributing to damage right now.

Could consider a death alternative mod so at least you're not reloading quite so much. As to actually tweaking the settings to slow down combat a bit, that's a bit trickier - most people aim for faster, rather than slower, from the mods I've seen.

You could also look at mods like Ultimate Combat or the like, which tend to add more decisions to combat (if not actually lowering the damage) to at least make things more interesting. I know there's one that adds a parrying and poise system that looks alright.
