5h xx p dandy bunker mashers with no footsies

confirm in to sweep for left right mix ups (ex. c.s f.s c.s 2d, ch mappa 5k2d, etc)

mappa is negative even on hit, but pretend like it isn't until they prove they can out mash you. after that, p mappa into 2h/p dandy bunker/blitz/bdc mappa/whatever counter hit read you make to make them stop mashing

6p is upper body invincible, so you can go through some things like ky fireball, riot stomp, or leo 6h on reads.

get your iad's down, both in neutral and after pokes like 5k, shits a life saver for getting out of pressure and to continue your own.

2h is an important poke in neutral because of the disjointed hitbox on the batwings. sol mashing his low profile 2d on your mappa's? ky dippering you like a spastic? zato summoning in neutral and you read it? not the fastest, not considered airborne, and hops lows inconsistently, but the pros outweigh the cons

and most importantly, always laugh maniacally when you land k dandy bunker in corner when they have no burst. this is mandatory.

or you can go to dust loop and learn actually useful information or go watch match vids of taka or hase and model your play after them instead of listening to a 4ch scrub who does neither of these things.

I think choosing between V-System loadouts would be neat. A new V-Skill, V-Reversal, and V-Trigger that changes how the character works to be better in one aspect but not as good in another.

In Xrd, how are you supposed to oki Ky or Sol when they can just throw out wake-up VV or Vapor and potentially stuff your oki? Sure, you can bait them into doing it if they do it too much, but they'll still just completely stuff my oki sometimes.

Also, as Faust, how do you get out of the corner? Once again, I find myself stuff in endless Ky and Sol offense, and any attempt to attack after their blocked attacks leaves me getting counter hit and killed. What attacks are safe to attack after? I feel like all my normals just come out so slowly that no amount of frame advantage will let me do anything. It's probably just me being shit, but getting stuck in the corner against these two as Faust just feels like an instant loss.

well, you're faust, your normals do some out slowly. that's the character. you have to use your tricky air movement, dead angles, and burst if you have it to reliably get out of the corner. also jump air throw is a decent option vs fireball yrc pressure if you see they airdash instead of run.

as for wake up uppercuts, sometimes you have to take them so you can bait them later. but there are safejumps, so try those instead of grounded setups.

I play Faust, and my 2D always loses to DP without fail. Maybe it's just bad timing on my part, but I've tried it several times, and it loses. 2K is 50/50 because it'll sometimes work but sometimes won't. My problem is I can't figure out what's making it work and what isn't.

The Ky I was fighting had 1000 wins and whatnot. I had no expectation of winning or even doing well, but I at least want to figure out how to get around basic stuff.

Bait and punish if you notice consistent reversal timing, 2k oki if not consistent reversal timing. and what >>122043003 said. Sometimes i'll air dash oki into fd if i feel it coming. Can't low profile sol's and you got to respect it, but ky's isn't that hard to fuck up.

Faust has slower than average buttons that tend to lead to no damage in most practical situations. 5p, 2p, 5k, and 6p are your get off me buttons, 5p being the best option usually. Dead angle, burst, invincible super, blitz, air throw, super jump, other universal mechanics are usually better/safer than getting ch mashing slow normals. Faust specific shit can be done too like drilling over fireballs, low profiling with offensive crouch walk under shit like bandit bringer/revolver, door yrc if you have the time. Honestly you should be saving your meter for these situations, what else are you consistently using it for besides 5s yrc/rc and fdc's?

Honestly, if I'm playing against a really good Ky or Sol, I just never have Tension because I'm put into the corner within the first 5 seconds of the fight and can never get out. You have to remember that I'm somewhat of a beginner.

If you're getting mauled, you can take the top player approach of having a mix of psychic powers, extreme reactions, and just defending the important pokes, or you can take the mere human approach of normal reactions and tap faultless. just defend gives meter and reduces block stun, while faultless adds slight block stun, but it pushes out and stops chip, so you have to use a mix depending on your comfort level. Once you have space/appropriate frames, you can poke or escape, but it takes knowledge of when to do either and the reactions to know how to defend safely. Not going to lie, shits hard, especially with faust.

What's a more important question is "why are you getting put in the corner?" Everyone slips up, but if it's happening consistently then there's a problem in your neutral. You didn't stop that air dash, you did a bad poke vs dipper/fafnir at range, you messed up your pressure and got mashed out, etc.

If I can survive the first 5 seconds of the round, I usually do fine and have a decent neutral. If I lose the initial exchange against a Ky or Sol, it's all over because they stuff me in a corner and just slaughter me.

All of it is just me being inexperienced, but I want to practice and get better. What I want to do is find somebody to practice against and just practice blocking their pressure while I'm in the corner so I can find when I can attack, what attacks give me frame advantage, etc.
