Additionally, almost every character has a skill that negates all positional mistakes. For example: caught on the ground as the rocketess Pharah? No problem, just press this easy button and you're instantly in the sky, where you're most effective.
Ran yourself into a bad spot as the fragile but swift Tracer? No problem, just press this easy button and you're instantly back where you were before.
Got caught in the open as the close-range slugger Reaper? Just press your invulnerability button and float over to a healthkit. You get this and many other movement tools completely free, there's nothing you give up for them, like sacrificing health with a rocket-jump.
The tools Overwatch gives you to solve problems are contained in a single, brainless button rather than a complex and difficult set of movements and/or offensive measures. The entire game revolves around identifying the correct rock-paper-scissors situation to press your button, then pressing it. There is no serious skill of any kind involved. You're going through the motions of what you think a video game entails.
The miniscule difference between a week-old Overwatch player and a year-old Overwatch player will be lost in the cloud of instakill ultimates, teleports and AOE abilities. This game is transcendentally shit, and there is no escape from it. This is the very profitable future of FPS. Hell. Population: you.

You must have been playing on OB server source servers with bhop plugin then. See, I hate this. Bunny hopping in Source is not easy. You can feel lucky if you can be constant for about 4-5 hops without server plugins. >Overwatch may be boring and shallow as an FPS game on account of all of the 'canned skill' abilities eliminating the impact of mechanical skill, but as a strategy game it's good! Just look at how many characters there are, and how many abilities! Surely that leads to good strategy gameplay.
Makes sense until you consider that Overwatch is trying to pretend it's an FPS game, not a strategy game. All of the ways in which Overwatch is different from other real time strategy games (the camera, the pace, the lack of resources to fight over) are flaws.
Let's consider Overwatch's strategy merit compared to another the-player-controls-one-unit strategy game like DOTA. Each player has ~3 skills and an ultimate, so there's parity there.
The camera perspective isn't top-down, it's first person. This makes zero sense for a strategy game and inhibits the player's ability to get an overall picture of what's going on. The controls also make it impossible for the player to ever control more than one unit, like they can in DOTA.
There are no map resources to fight over - as a strategy game, the only strategic element is the win condition.
Overwatch is shit as either an FPS game or a strategy game.
So it won't sell by its quality.

Some characters do have good mobility, Pharah, Lucio, Genji, Tracer, etc.
People will always complain about snipers, especially ones like Widowmaker who have so many advantages.

The issue is that Hanzo and Widowmaker cannibalize each other.
Hanzo is obviously meant to be a short-ranged and spammier sniper but Widowmaker's better at doing that while being the long-ranged sniper as well. Holy shit, they even both have wallhack abilities. They need to do something to differentiate the two of them.

But that's going to happen, especially as more and more heroes are added. Not everyone is going to be "competitively viable." And roles will overlap.
What's more important is keeping the characters fresh and Hanzo plays quite a bit differently than Widowmaker so I think it's fine.
And again, I'm 90% sure she's going to get another nerf.

If this game actually gave a shit about having complex, interesting gameplay the mobility wouldn't be a single prepackaged skill that just takes you from point A to point B, it would be a set of things. Surfing, bunnyhopping, projectile jumping, grappling hooking, skiing (tribes-esque), walljumping, etc.

So D.va sucks unless the enemy team really just LOVES running directly into her. She can be strong against turrets, but after that she is kinda useless. Ult is alright, it won't kill smart people most of the time, just scare them around corners, so it needs competent team coordination to get anything off of it. Maybe she'll be better in a comp setting down the road. She feels pretty shitty in pugs atm though.
Mei is only good on defense on maps with a ton of tight corners, so like the first objective on hanumura, and the first objective on the new hollywood map. All she does is walk out behind corners and annoy Tracer trying to merk your bastion. If you get a freeze you have time to m2->cancel into melee for max damage as they break from it. Ult is ok, good for getting dudes off points.
Genji's best part of his kit is his wall climb and double jump. Gets him all over the place, letting him get in even where Tracer/Reaper can't sometimes and he deals with turrets better than them because of his E. Shuriken do a lot of damage, if you triple head shot with them they one shot softies. His melee sadly doesn't seem to do any more damage than any other melee, which is shitty since he is a goddamn ninja with a sword. His dash is hitscan I think? His ult is ok right now because he's new and people aren't use to dealing with him, but it and him in general will probably end up being shitty. Because he often has to get in on team with his E, but once it's down he's just a 200hp gremlin waiting to get buttfucked.
Overall none of the new characters are all that great or really do much that wasn't covered by other characters.

I don't have the game but from what I've seen, here are some tricks; Use Icewall to block off paths, use Ice wall behind the opponent to block their escape. Use Ice wall to jump in the middile of combat and escepe or use Ice block on control points/panic buttons.
Alt-fire is good for sniping, primary fire can freeze people for a sec. Frozen characters are vulerable to melee, might even one-shot light characters. If not, a headshot from alt-fire would do the trick.
Finally blizzard is a great tool to force a retreat. It's freeze is exponential so the longer they stay inside, the faster it freezes. Usually you can't kill all of them if they thaw but coordinating with McCrees or other high dps class can cause a team wipe.
They really need to lower her health or make her Iceblock heal less. She's actually tankier than most tanks if you alternate between Ice Walls to block attacks and Ice Block to no-sell ults.
