you can just teleport to grand exchange and use the magic tree to return to nieve.
the slayer helm allows you to have your offensive and defensive bonus at all times plus all slayer helm slot items in one (nosepeg etc.) which is AMAZING for lower level slayers since they will often get these tasks. on top of that, if you imbue the helm which isn't difficult at all and a lot quicker than getting 75 crafting for the ring, the helm just gets even more powerful
