Last ranked game I'll have played this season is me feeding three kills top to a player I should've been able to beat easily. This is while getting carried by a Master smurf Kalista who took down the enemy nexus at 20 minutes while I did nothing but push while tilted. He gave me a dose of the bantz too. the only real objective thing that Riot did wrong was remove the entire premise originally crafted behind their game because it was "too hard to give champions a reason to join the league" which is an awful, stupid, and lazy cop-out to retcon everything and start anew

however the new world by itself, if you ignore everything that came before it, is not bad. It offers insight into the kind of grittier aspects of the League, expands on what the old lore writes off as mysterious and unknown as something more tangible (Shadow Isles), and does some pretty neat champion interaction that isn't TOO forced.

You could say that the JoJ was bad because a lot of the writing was self-insert garbage, remember that article some fag wrote about how janna and nidalee were fighting over the summoner self-insert of him? That was cringey and awful.

This is my greatest pet peeve. "Gold" rating has been the cutoffs for rewards, but it has been pushed further and further down (and thus more attainable) as new upper ranks have been added and new systems put in place.

Season 1 gold was the top 3% of the playerbase according to Riot.
Season 2 was also top 3% (pic related). But I think Riot commented at it really being closer to 10%.
Season 3 was a whopping 26% because of the new league/division system
Season 2014 was nearing 30%

And continuing on that trend, season 2015 gold players are in the top 31% right now.
At least according to lolsummoners. Other sites are reporting it as high as 40%.

Gold ranking is basically a participation trophy now.
