I'd say we're still going to get a lot more from events or patched in from now on, probably as an event.

They need to make as much money off each one they can after all, and the best way to do that is center each one around an event of some sort that's limited time only rate up.

At our best point there was a new event every week or so, but its hard to say when the next one will start now.

If they ever feel the numbers slipping, then suddenly they'll create an event with one of the especially desirable types. Although Gilgamesh, Atlanta, Halloween Liz, Lancelot, Orion, etc definitely counted as new ones even if some were simply locked out until it was time.

They realized people could data mine the game, so now they won't put them in until right when its time.

They werent hidden in the gamr files, they were in the game as enemies and bosses, thats completely different. They were fully prepared for release and only needed to be added to the gacha. The only Servant like that now is Jeanne Alter.

I want to see Kingprotea summoned in a normal war, like its just a normal war outside of her being there.

Like imagine if in Fate/Zero, Kayneth summoned her instead of Diarmund.

You'd suddenly find a lot more interesting situation in some ways as shit goes far too off the rails. Feast of Kings suddenly gets a lot more exciting, Gilles giant monster just gets stepped on, and trying to keep this war a secret is impossible from day one.

You'd have either the church, association, or counter force summoned by day two either way this worked out.

Would be something just to see them trying to keep up the conversation during the Feast of King's and act like there's nothing odd here as they're also passing drinks to a hundred foot tall giant who's known to be a bit temperamental.

Technically due to the rules in place; the throne has to count all of the Alter Egos as legit servants since the Mooncell has to count them, which means technically they can be summoned anywhere. There's already been two joke scenarios and one real scenario about it.

However obtaining a catalyst would basically be impossible unless your summoning was just glitched up to high heaven and something went insanely wrong.

There's actually never been a non-catalyst summon in the history of the Fuyuki war at least.

There are some people that thought they did it without a catalyst, while the data book typically proved that wrong.

Catalyst is necessary, this is an entire conversation in UBW with Archer. If you don't pick one, the world will still find a way for there to have been one. Even if it has to do it backwards.

The book that Uryuu had in Zero was real, his parents did have some actual magus blood, but he thought it was all nonsense of course. Also the blood and bodies counted as a potential catalyst.

She did use a catalyst, she just wasn't trying to use one.

Archer later on in UBW says "No, catalyst is necessary" without question. You can't just pretend you can't have one like Rin did, or else the world will look all around nearby and just pick the closest thing it can figure as counting. This isn't even a question, this is flat out stated, you need a catalyst, because something is still going to have to fill that void whether you're trying or not.

Whether you want a catalyst to count or not, the summoning will still pick something, but it is a crucial part of the ritual. Rin thought it was useless, but it doesn't work like that, Archer pointed out her mistake. Whether she had the pendent or not, the summoning still would have found something else nearby that counted.

Most likely the next closest thing was Gilgamesh's molted snake skin.

Protea isn't just a giant, if it was just any old giant from mythology then it would lose the same to any other person in the contest from Arthur to Gilgamesh. It would be a prime target that they'd take out fairly early on since it can't hide, and its still most likely less than them by either method. Since he's king of heroes and she has super beam sword that beats anything. If they just summoned some frost giant, Gilgamesh would pull something out of his vault, and that would be that.

Same way Gilles summoned beast was trounced by them. A giant that's a hero is still just a hero, they are probably less than some of these other heroes in the contest to the point that none of them would sweat it.

Protea is a thing that even BB sealed away because she realized it had no real limits though, it was bullshit incarnate and must never come into contact with the world at all or else its power will only grow infinitely along with its desired.

Its something that even Gilgamesh can't be his usual self about, he might not even consider that something to fight. Even if it was a situation where he needed help against it, you would see some new value created there at least.

Its something that forces the situation to not be as simple as "Pfft, still not big deal" since Protea isn't just a giant that's a hero, but rather a monster beyond servants typically.

They can't just rush into battle against it, so you'd see some humor there as well as Protea gets into some odd situations.

Aren't we forgetting that Apo mentions a catalyst not being necessary? Just that it's required in order to get a specific servant? Even then, the servant can still just not answer the call.

Honestly, add a side effect to her first skill or just slightly increase the base chance % (or the increase per level) and make the one turn -or- the three turn buff from her second skill party-wide and you'd be set.

I cleared Okeanos with Tamamo, Marie and a support, sometimes Jeanne but other times Altera.
Anything beyond a 1 NP chain Tamamo brings more to the table than any other NP buffer.
Being able to spam NPs every 2-3 turns is great and it also means you don't have to keep saving Jeanne's NP to counter the other NP, if they ever get close to using it (like whenever those big HP sponges get thrown around).
I did try to mix things around and use a maxed Kintoki support, but it just doesn't compare. You're basically rolling the dice, especially with bosses with large HP pools, on how long he, or any other berserker, can actually survive.

Stunning, charming and draining Herc was surprisingly funny, so that's a plus.

Also Zero was used as an example because Feast of King's, and Kingprotea is a questionable enough king that it would either fit or you wouldn't be able to stop her from coming at least. That as well would be a humorous situation. Protea isn't just power, but also some strange or comical situations for her in particular since its too much of an oddity.

Hanuman should be strong, but he's still just a hero, which means his power is far scaled down when summoned so that he's no world breaker for sure. Every servant is within a certain range of power, servants who had legends where they shot down stars or broke planets are surely far less impressive if summoned. And most likely he's gotta be weaker than Gilgamesh by concept since he's always gotta be buffed to be the best since it was his original concept and they don't want to negate that.

Protea is the only thing I can think that can certainly overcome that barrier of not just being fodder to wank the two biggest wankers in the series.

They did once play with the idea of making Hanuman a servant before though in Koha.

It literally is an exception though, and your other thing you said about how there's no way it wouldn't work is also bull; you're not going to have a servant created from the 1900's onward among other notable reasons. Alice was written in 1985 when it was possible for servants to still be born.

However even then its not like the character from the story is really being created here, rather its just the imagination of the readers being given form in reality.

Its nothing but a living reality marble, that takes on whatever form the one watching it sees. Its not literally Alice from the story at all. Alice is just belief given life, but since she's such a haphazard or half-made existence, you can tell how much impact upon her being a being made of belief really is there.

People aren't growing up thinking Galdalf is real in this day and age and woshipping him as a hero. Kids might have thought Alice and that story was real back in the 1800's, but "supposedly" people are in the age of enlightenment now which means fairy tales and strange beliefs like that are shot down before anything can really develop into true belief, and kids are told santa isn't real.

In order for belief to be created, people have to actually think its real, and worship the story in a sense. That's not happening in this day and age for several reasons.

You should realize more what was said in the middle of this post though; "Alice" may have come into existence, but it really is nothing but a reality marble encapsulating the dreams of children and the imagination of the readers.

It will never be the character in itself, its nothing but an idea.

They do note basically a dozen times that Shinji's servant is high tier, but Shinji himself is weighing her down badly due to his own issues and not being able to take the war seriously. So Drake is decidedly a very powerful servant apparently. She says he can't provide for her appropriately, so she's stuck at her current level.
