I never did anything in this game except PvP until now. There were always some bad players in it, but that's understandable because some people just aren't suited to PvP, can't handle the objectives or the pace or they click and keyboard turn so can't even fight properly. But totally understandable.

Having never done PvE before I always thought the majority of PvE players in this game would be good or at least competent because it seems to be where most of the playerbase focuses their attention, there is a ton of theorycrafting and minmaxing and discussion for it, and none of those above PvP issues are problems in PvE.

So imagine my fucking surprise when literally more than half the people I group with are completely fucking brain dead and can't even use their abilities properly. They are even fucking worse than some people in PvP which just boggles my mind, I don't understand how that's possible, they lack basic understanding of not just how to play their class and use their abilities properly but also basic fucking game knowledge.

The last group I was in at level cap content we had a tactics trooper who used pulse cannon and mortar strike against single enemies and would use gut to finish them off instead of opening on enemies with it. I'm pretty sure I also didn't see him stockstrike a single time, he sat way back at range and tried to play it like a commando. Just what the fuck? I have never seen so many shitters in my life, it's absolutely horrific and surprised the hell out of me.

What the hell is wrong with the people who play this game?

Pretty much, I don't mind the general normalization but they should have at least kept one of each companions signature moves to help differentiate them. Even if they functioned exactly the same as the generic ones.

Given the small amount of abilities they all have now I always thought it would be pretty cool if you could swap out different abilities from a big pool into their hotbar to use so you could kinda customize how they play. Take more stuns and CC abilities if you want to open world PvP, aoe damage if you want to clear trash and quest mobs faster, etc. They could even let you unlock new abilities or just new animations/skins for abilities like the Blizz rocket launcher by leveling up your influence with them.

As it stands right now it's a really boring and way too homogeneous system.
