To be fair, it's kind of arbritrary that he's in the 'main group' at all.

Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne and Alphys are all seen for some time and have some history with the player. Asgore just sits in his throne-room watering flowers until the kid shows up, whereupon he immediately tries to kill them unless stopped by everyone else.

You don't get the chance to get to know Asgore, sadly, he just happens to be there when shit happens at the end.

I teared up at some points of the game, but after defeating Asriel and realising all I had left to do was to talk to everyone and leave the game, I felt huge, uncontrollable ghibli tears run down my face. They wouldn't stop. The game wasn't long enough and I'll never have more adventures with my monster friends and they aren't even real and fuck my life, just fuck everything it still hurts.

This paired with the fact that Toby's just a year older than me has actually made me feel more depressed than inspired. I have my own characters and stories I want to tell but I already feel like because I'm not in any popular artist cliques no-one will care.

I just realized something from mined content.

Gaster has a sprite called spr_gb_npc_0. GB meaning gaster blaster, like what sans uses in his fight. NPC, of course, meaning this is a character you intereract with.

These faceless sprites of Sans and Papyrus, which would appear in the dialogue box when you interact with someone in the overworld. They look similar to the Gaster sprite. We might be getting Gaster in a future update, and this would be what he'd look like. The mystery man is probably not Gaster.

I have characters that I was doodling since childhood. I love monsters and friendship and characters who are fucking losers and all that shit.

The mc is the bird monster, he's a peaceful fella with a knack for fixing things but he discovers he has powers that are destructive. He lives on a continent that is constantly getting destroyed due to a neverending war between two god brothers, but doesn't realise it because his village/race is isolationist.

Then he gets framed for murder and our heroine (who in general is more mc-ish than the mc), a holy warrior who works for the Big Good "kidnaps" him (he's really just recruited as a freedom fighter).

But the tone is a lot like Undertale, humourous with it's occasional dark and sad moments.

the mcs' friendship is a bit like Papyrus and Undyne, so I'm gonna get compared a lot even though I made this pair years ago. And no, there's no romance between them ever. Just a budding bros-for-life kind bond.

I want to make a comic out of them but a game might be better to test the waters, I don't know. Either way I want to use these guys because when I make new characters from scratch the love and passion isn't there.
