The thing is, Griffon spits are really well suited for the kind of combat you see in War Thunder. That's not to say other aircraft of the era had nothing on it, you just don't see the strengths of those aircraft in this game.

Not even comparing their high alt vs low alt performance, think about how close airfields are to each other in this game. That gives a huge advantage to the plane with the higher climb rate, they might find their opponent and kill them before they reach the altitude they want to fight at.

I've mostly flown the T-bolt since the patch hit.

You'd think a plane that dives that fast would be at extreme risk of blackouts. But I haven't. All the spitfires on my team were dying to zeroes due to blackouts and I was mopping up the mess.

I'm not sure if I have my play style to thank for that, or the fact that my crew skill for G-tolerance is 3 and I get +3 from expert P-47D qualification. Might be both.

DCS's difficulty is a meme, you can learn everything important from the tutorial, and everything else as it comes up while you're actually playing.

They're more balanced.

The penetration mechanics are very different. Shatter exists, so T-34s don't just autopenetrate Pz IV F2s every time. All of the tanks are fairly survivable and have to rely on hitting weakpoints.

There's no nuke filler in Russian shells either. If anything, the damage is too low on all shells. The first hit is unlikely to do much, but subsequent hits have more an increased chance to do damage.

Interior views so differences in visibility exist, and even crew size plays some role. T-34s are limited by their commander/gunner, and the T-70 has the commander loading too, so he has to look away from the optics when doing so.

That said, they're under utilized and somewhat clunky, so it's not as great as it sounds.

So did anyone actually get v& for the bomber crashing?
