/swgg/ is dispersed through virtually every server in the game. I started the community index this morning to help people on /swgg/ group up for content or to form guilds as it seemed difficult to really get a handle on how, when and where to organize people.

And I hate when bioware does it. Someone in a writers meeting were like "we need a character who can represent the average Zakuulan so the PC can empathize with the Zakuul against Arcann and be a LS foil for Lana's DS pragmatism."

His character doesn't feel like it grew organically from events, it feels like they put him in because they need to fit certain requirements for the plot like having LS/DS foils, someone for the PC to empathize with about Zakuulans,etc etc.

Bioware always does this lately, they put in these characters who don't develop organically through gameplay, they're just kind of inserted because they fill some kind of management/executive/marketing mandate instead of being grown organically through adventures with the player character like classic bioware companions are know for.

I mean look at that Lt. Vega guy from ME3. Someone from Bioware actually said "huh well ME3 is going to bring in a lot of new players who are just going to skip to the end of the series, so we better put in a character so they don't feel out of place about being new to the story". Like it's so fucking stupid .

Beyond finishing any previous expansions and other questlines you haven't done before, you should be fine. I wouldn't even worry about gear until you get to chapter 9, you'll have more than enough ways to get it then. Nothing wrong with running flashpoints to break things up though.

Most emu servers are either bots are cliques, and it's hard to avoid regardless of where you go. It just depends on how much you want to play. Basilisk is still probably the best choice out there community wise, even then it's not great.
I've heard ok things about Awakening and Reckoning, no experience with them though.

As far as I know Operative is really fun. I think it's considered slightly less 'gud' than Sniper but it's still solid and it has the added advantage of letting you use stealth and stuff to avoid trash encounters and complete missions way faster which is just a godsend.

How is Focus/Rage spec in PvP compared to Vigilance/Vengeance? Seems like the latter gets a bunch of passive PvP utility stuff that is quite helpful but I'm not a fan of the DoT and channeled ability focus, it doesn't really feel right when I'm not using instants or hitting hard with all my attacks since half their damage is dots. Also seems pretty shit for leveling because everything just dies before I can even finish my blade dance/ravage or get all my dots up.. Granted I'm pretty low level so no idea what it's like at cap.

Fuck, I'm still enjoying the JK story but it's painful how hard they missed their opportunity to have the JK genuinely fall and remember everything they did rather than just go right back to work like nothing happened. Even if it was just short scenes between the montage it would've been great.
