-If you're pinned and the monster has a weak pinning attack, don't mash out. The monster is a sitting duck, let everyone else whack at it. That'll free you anyway.
-When a monster is asleep, don't just wait for someone to attack it, PING WHEN YOU ARE READY. THEN THE STRONGEST WEAPON ATTACKS.

At worst you just eat one hit,not the end of the world, at best the monster wastes a roar on you and you get in a free hit or two.

that type of coordination doesn't work too well. Especially if there's a focus GS.

I dawdle for a second or two at most to see if someone's running up to place a bomb. If they are I wait then charge3 the monster and bombs at the same time, if they don't I just charge3 the head. If I don't have the highest raw gs, I'll let another do it instead. Simple as that.

Long answer: In 3U you were locked to an invisible table that dictated what charms you got based on the game's clock. They were supposed to cycle every time you loaded your character, but didn't. They work properly in 4U.

So I'm getting the hang of the gunlance again and it's just not fun. Whereas other weapons have a nice "flow" to them, GL just feels too rigid, it feels like you're fighting against the controls to be able to position yourself properly, and even full bursts / wyvernfires aren't as satisfying to land as they should be.

Relic armor can have multiple versions, if you're getting the wrong appearance then just keep trying. There's something else involving some versions not showing up until the quest is at a certain level, but if you've got a high one you should be past that.

there are some quests that have prerequisites to show up on your list that aren't ancient text/crown related (e.g. a couple g3 quests only show up after you've hunted a quota of monsters from a category), but otherwise you can join any mission that's posted by anyone else. i don't think i've seen any non-gold crowns kicked immediately upon joining so it's just up to the host.

How does /mhg/ feel about evasion +1 on Greatsword? I just feel like it gives you so many more openings. Being able to roll through roars, like Tigrex roars, and rev up a level 3 charge on the head, is great. Yet I rarely see people recommending evasion +1, let alone running it with a Greatsword.

I thought Punish Draw was one of the essential skills to have on a GS set similar to Crit Draw? Currently I'm running with a mixed set of Nargacuga and Diablos and have the skills Sharpness+1, Crit Draw, Quick Sheath, Tremor Resist, Evasion+1, and Trap Master. I'm sure there's one more but I can't think off the top of my head what it is.

Made a room do do Fatalis G Rank event quest because I need the parts to make gloves. Also every PUG I've tried it with has bailed almost immediately upon attempting it

Nope, that's a good GS set. It's just, like you said, the E+1 is a bonus. It's not worth it to build towards, but a great skill stacked on top of sharpness/crit draw/focus that every GS should have.

It's absolutely not essential. The timing of GS means if you're doing charge attacks, a lot of the fatigue you build up on the monster dissipates, so you either need to give up charges (no, bad), or you're not fatiguing the monster much more.

You also won't usually get more than one KO, and that's if you're going hard for the head. Which, hitting the head is ideal, but A) as a GS you should spend a lot of your time at the tail, and B) you're opening yourself up to more damage and fewer hits/trips than you normally would.

Punishing Draw is in an obnoxious tweener area, where it's too hard to get to be a bonus, and but not good enough to be a primary skill.
