It's still a bit confusing to mod most of the weapons considering how they're now forced to specific roles like the AR with huge ammo pool and poor accuracy and you can't really change their fate except for ruining other important stats in the process.

A lot of weapons are now viable and silencers are more interesting to use for loud jobs but some shotguns and other weapons like the Pratchett really bitted the dust.

Game is not that much P2W, just a bit more casual.

Completed achievement for 25 dozer kills with G3 thanks to anons help telling me about Meltdown. Get my DMR all modded up with the parts I like, end result is a primary that's just barely more accurate than a Deagle, has a smaller magazine, does considerably less damage, has a longer reload time and worse ammo pickup. This is a primary weapon. A full length .308 battle rifle. I'll still use it because I like it, but god damn.

Well, unless you're too low of level for the M308 or you want a goofy Dozer Buster, then you can put the DMR Kit on the AMR-16 (highest rate of fire).

What would you recommend for a battle rifle anyway? I know there's quite a few options. So far the DMR kit 7.62 AK seems like the best bet. I'm just a big fan of the G3 and kinda let down by what Overkill did to it.

I wanted to love it so very, very much. I have an enduring fondness for the AS VAL and VSS from loads of STALKER, but this is just not viable. How this thing literally built for stealth is so objectively inferior to a CAR-4 for the same purpose, I do not know.

According to pd2skills, the M308 gets 100 damage and 16 accuracy. While the AK762 gets 85 damage and 18 accuracy.
But, you know, the balance changes everything.

That's more of a Overkill weapon considering how it can't reach the 121 damage breakpoint for DW needed to kill the grey units in one headshot. Although it can easily get superior damage with crits hits from a sb/lb build, it's hard to put it on the same level as a M308 or a dmr AK 7.62

Why use a low rate of fire high damage weapon with critical hits? You're already killing cops in one or two shots, so why waste the skill points and all the other stats you'll miss out on modding for concealment just to have a chance to do extra damage to a dead body?

And I was talking specifically about the DMR Kit mods, the G3, both AKs, CAR and AMR all have the same shitty ammo pickup rate, making them inferior to an M308 when built with no regards to concealment.

DMR kits don't reduce rate of fire. DMR kits improves accuracy and damage at the cost of ammo. That's why I use them for my SBLB build. At least, until I got the WA2000.
But I didn't know they had shit ammo pick up. I'll keep that in mind if I make another build, something with less concealment.

Muscle is already the best deck for armor, giving it a minor buff doesn't make much sense.
Blanket changes like -15 damage will do jack shit for the worst offenders and make many of the average pistols just plain shit. +4-8 accuracy is a laughably tiny change, I'm not sure what Overkill is trying to do.

Playing PD:TH feels just right, cops destroy you easily so you can do stupid shit like running everywhere killing everything and snipers were goddamn annoying, not just useless. Also, definitely better perks, there is no point on not using Muscle basically, and Crook, Armorer, Crew Chief and all that stuff are pretty much useless.
