LIZARD IN ERMOR edition

Dominions is a fantasy turn-based strategy game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.

The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.

It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.

Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a strategy game.

Eunuchs I've got good news
Your cap was actually an amazon recruit site and give access to new magical paths.
Of course you could never get those, even if you took back you cap, but I wanted to let you know. Also, why do you have no lab there?

Sceleria, was that a bump or is there going to be hot ghostbird on skelly action?
>>
>>121156964
It's not elemental damage, but it can get blocked by heavy armor. Good thing there's an earth spell that removes armor
>>

Take d9, dump sloth and cold, take full money scales is the gist of it i've been told. But it would be pretty cool if TornVale DedBurds/pythium/agartha/etc would do a write up after the whole thing plays out, kinda curious myself.

ALso, does apostasy work on shrouded units? They're technically sacred, aren't they?
>>
>>121159197
>oceania
I have the information that he stopped his initial "actions". Can you confirm this?
>>
>>121159561
it means nazca. I'm a sub, so I'm learning as I go.

Some advice. They are rather slow to start up, they have a lot of power in the mid late game, but you have several things slowing you down in the early game as you want to get you Supaya factory started.

Your supayas are good, but not insane, so supporting them will be a big things.
O3C3G3 is a must, and you want at least 1 high bless, and probably can't afford a true dualbless with the scales you need.

One small thing, Do not profit either of your two starting commanders, get a flying commander and prophet him, if/when he dies he becomes a H3 mummy, so he can call supaya, and at 0 upkeep.

while you want to get a supaya factory started, don't delay forts ect too much, buy coyas and inca, after you get 6 ish Royal mummies you should only buy more when don't need to buy an important structure. (my opinion here).

I've found that your starting research kinda sucks, as your royal mummies take most of your gold and cap turns and aren't researching, you need to use a fair number of your priests to move your supayas, and your main labrats are decent but not great. Again, slow start.
>>
I see that at least some players are online. Good.

NOW BUY MY BLOOD SLAVES.

Seriously, I'm offering you 5 per turn for a meagre 2 gems. Just a reminder: blood magic is unaffected by Arcane Nexus.
>>
>>121159793

My good friend, have you thought about my request for those items I require?
>>
>>121159951
not sure what you mean, my scouts and reports seem to indicate the pitched battles have become less of a thing, but there borders are still shaped like they are at war and golems and armies are positioned agressively.

>>121159906
d9 is good, but i've tried them f9 and that works too.
People hate on F9 a bit, but D9 on supayas means all of their damage is MR negates, which was a thing when I tried to kill the Eunuchs pretender.

>dump sloth
testing found that S2 worked good, but hits your already weak expansion. I'd worry about S3.
You could probably afford the misfortune 1 with your good order and growth.

>>121160469
oh, another thing that's just started coming up, but your national flying commanders all come back as mummies when killed and this is not limited to your dominion. Their upkeep goes up, you do get them back and all the holy ones can reanimate.
The biggest loss there is they aren't flying and the flying mobility advantage is huge.

Late game. well I'm just getting there and I'm still pretty new. That said, you've got kick ass diversity. But the slow research is a thing, if sceleria puts up the graphs you'll see the difference between my research position and my everything else.
And I've been max maging and forging lanterns and whatnot.

Oh, and this is important. the info on the Huaca Headress is wrong, it increases the number of Supayas/Huaca's by 2 now. which means it doubles the effectiveness of your royal mummies.
>>
>>121160745
I'm interested now. can I use water gems to buy?

mean exactly? If the unit I want to give the boots to has natural res to cold (15) does that mean 7.5 will be taken away?
>>
>>121165783
That's often how elemental royalty are used - super tanky, two shields, and dropping niefel flames / flame storm / shimmering fields
>>
>>121165783
Caster SCs usually spam Living X
But it's a lot easier to throw a bunch of resistance gear, a brand, vine shield, and bone armor onto a golem

>>
>>121166726
The first suggestion. Such kind of ignorance barely forgivable.
>>
>>121166517
It's true that it's possible to beat golems with mages. All of the paths have answers. SCs can't really solo suitably supported armies, and the specific weakness of the SC build isn't really the question. However, a golem set in the back corner to huddle and tank forever will go to turn limit against an army that isn't scripted to answer it, which means that it can rout an otherwise large army on its own. That's one of the best things you can get an SC to do.
>>
>>121166224
Well, I don't think he has that either. Llamaserver shows his research is at like 8000. It's not a 1:1 relation to RP as well as I know but IIRC that's not enough to hit multiple 8s.
>>
>>121166726
It's the combination of the two. It's fine to be ignorant about a generally useless topic, but why bother advertising that fact?

Hot to beat MA Ermor every time easily - the easy fucking guide for losers:
1. magic duel his elders and all other S mages,
2. soul slay his commanders,
3. laugh as the chaff dissipates without leadership
>>
>>121171368
Like I mentioned, you actually won in some of my tests. Take from that what you will.

I also gave my army enough gems for 3 battles, since I was assuming that both you and Sceleria would teleport in. The forest dome did save me a bunch of valuable gems, though, for which I am thankful.

Also, of course I'm on the defensive - I'm fighting off two nations that should both be able to beat me on their own. The fact that I beat you here doesn't mean that I'm going to start invading you. The best I'll be able to do is retake the pass and block it off so that I can focus on Sceleria.

1. Phoenix pyre on communion slaves in the front. He'd need like 12 magic duel wins to start targeting my dusk elders, and the one that cast phoenix pyre is in the front, so he'd need another 3 before he can start killing them for real.
2. Soul slay prioritizes HP / MR, so it will hit censors and lictors before it hits mages and he'd need to kill literally all of them.
3. See 2. Even a single golem with a skull talisman is enough to prevent the undead from melting

Reminder that this is the single very best mage akin to Invoker from DotA 2
>>
This past turn, Wuulholt alchemized all their gems to nature to overcast Astral Corruption with a pretender that they had designed for that purpose. However, we are using a spell-randomizer that makes AC a nature/fire spell costing 100 gems.

Astral corruption went live, and the 100+ nature gem cast attracted Agon, the Eater of Dreams, who promptly shat on Wuulholt's pretender.

Taking bets on AI.

Ulm has bonkers diversity if your pretender has A4E4

E3 (Smith)->E4 (Earth Boots)->E5 (Staff of Elemental Mastery)->E6 (King of Elemental Earth+Staff)

W2 (Smith)->W3 (Water Bracelet)->W4 (Sea King+Bracelet)->W5 (Robe of the Sea)->W8 (Queen of Elemental Water+Bracelet+Robe+Staff)

F2 (Smith)->F3 (Staff of Elemental Mastery)->F4 (Flame Spirit+Staff)->F5 (Flame Helmet)->F7 (King of Elemental Fire+Staff+Helmet)

A4 (Pretender)->A5 (Winged Helmet)->A8 (Queen of Elemental Air+Helmet+Bag+Staff)

D2 (Shaman)->D3 (Skull Staff)->D4 (Mound Fiend+Skull Staff). An empower can send you up to D5 for liches all the way up to 7 but this is iffy.

Now in a normal game you will do maybe one of these things but having all of these different options open to you is really nice.

There's nobody else to enter the fray against you, and even if you can't push into all of us at the same time, your position can only get better: you're winning the economic, diversity and probably research war, and we clearly cannot beat you in the field. >>
>>121248072
Supporting the decision to declare Ermor as the victor. I do understand that it's kinda cheap, easy move to solve everything, but I don't want to perform this chore of a game 50-70 turns to see how my allies got wiped one by one and then I'll perish myself.
All the future resistance will be just a meaningless struggle against opponent who is gonna win either way.

>>121248671
>being able to kill 3*blessed Ermor early in the game, but decided to sit still and after that ally yourself with him

Players like you harming my sanity.
>>
>>121249820
I don't think it's cheap if the game is definitely decided. Depending on random throne placement and other factors (like some thrones being owned by Pangaea with 2000 maenads protecting each fort), the actual victory condition can be incredibly difficult to reach even when there can be only one victor. I think thrones were added to allow victories before someone becomes untouchable and if for whatever reason the game lasts beyond that point, I think it's good form to default to victory by concession (as endgame on large maps isn't really fun for anyone involved).

You know nothing. You can bring up with the plans and think about how to fuck up things for someone IF YOU ARE ENJOYING the game, despite your position. But if there are no openings and you are not salty enough just to mess with him out of the ill will then what is the point? Where is the fun?

Fun only resides if the hope is still alive and if there is no hope it's just a chore.
>>
>>121253452
>>121253059
Fun is subjective, here it very much depends on what the overall feeling is from those left standing against Ermor.

Some feel that it's not fun to be fighting seemingly impossible odds, some love it even though nigh all the time they eventually lose.

What's important is for there to be agreement, fighting impossible odds only for every other nation to roll over like a bitch sucks.

'hur I can't easily win so i'ma quit'

You're not just robbing yourself and all the other players in the game, you're robbing Ermor. He's become the Evil Empire, against all odds. He's rising in the skeleton revolution, bones against the world.

And you're all like 'good game, later'. He's marshalled his fucking skeleton hordes, mate. He's raised that which should NOT have been raised, he's drawn back the curtains of reality - he has planned, and schemed, and now he faces the world, united against him.

And they're just like 'well victory might be hard now so I give up'.

'New game, hopefully with more noobs I can easily crush!'.

I'd be fucking pissed.
>>
>>121254374
I've always been on the receiving end, off the top of my head I can't remember them using horror marks.
Doesn't it then have the same problem call horror does, that distance is more important than marks?
Also that doesn't stop your own troops deciding they need to kill them, especially those defending the casters.
>>
>>121254575
SUBJECTIVE.

It's entirely possible that Ermor and at very least some of the other players 100% agree with you, and people going AI would suck for them all.

However, as I said, the important thing is for all of them to talk to each other.
>>
>>121254645
I've tried using lammashtas a LOT.
Horror marking is relatively effective, they always sit on their ass for one turn next to whoever summoned them no matter what, but the next turn they'll home in (about 95% of the time) on something that's horror marked. They're not technically horrors, the spell just 'horror spawns' them, which I guess tells them to target horror marked stuff.

I want a nation with native mages powerful enough to cast the queen of air spell and fire/earth king. D-do i need a specific pretender to get that?
>>

Trading 400 skeletons for 2 lammashta per turn in an extremely dangerous manner, eh

INTERESTING
>>
>>121257168
It actually works with one sauromancer casting summon lammashtas, and two to four casting eagle eyes THEN control the dead. Since CTD has horrible accuracy.
But then you run into the issue of the lammashtas routing all the sauromancers turn 1, before they get CTD'd.

>I'd be fucking pissed.

>>
>>121256623
You'll need either a pretender or some empowers to get multiple elemental royalty in a single faction. Vanheim can get A4 and E3 on their mages without a 10% random, and so can get to A6 and E5 if you empower a dwarven smith in blood for bloodstones. Some nations like Caelum could use their national summons to get elemental royalty, but that's a pretty big investment already.

It's probably better not to be picking up a million afflictions by dying as phoenix pyre in the first place.

Especially with your giant, super duper, many paths, giant SCs. They have a lot of armykilling strategies. Phoenix pyre is not one of them, because they'll get a big pile of afflictions and suck. A proper mageball will shoot them stuff that makes them die eventually regardless, too.

I don't think that the game's over. Bandar Log has been amassing mages and has yet to fight anyone since C'tis was finished. They could put up an undispellable Arcane Nexus and then get a wish engine going with their astral pretender. I think it's possible to beat that, but it's definitely not certain and telling BL that he's just irrelevant doesn't seem very fair.

Agartha has some elemental royalty that he hasn't used in combat at all. I saw this massive doomstack of elementals led by a fire king just kinda chilling away from our border. Again, I think that I'll be able to beat that army eventually, but it's uncertain when I don't know what's inside of it. Our border has become a stalemate thanks to his ability to chain-cast earthquake making me able to use pretty much nothing but Lictors and ethereal units if I want to attack, and since I've focused on fighting Marignon and Sceleria, I haven't managed to get the critical mass of units needed to mount an offensive. He could realistically hold the border against me indefinitely, then take over Marignon's lands if Marignon really has given up and goes AI, giving him a large gold & gem advantage until he's built up his forces enough to beat both me & BL. I don't think that he will since his play has been extremely conservative, but again - unless you know that Agartha thinks it's hopeless and is only doing his turns by rote, it's not fair to tell him that he's lost.

Even Marignon theoretically still has the juice to win. He has pretty much everything research and has broken into blood. He can put up Purgatory which singlehandedly prevents me from invading him EVER unless BL dispels it since his fire income is pretty much guaranteed to be higher than my astral income. With a literally uninvadable dominion, he can go full blood magic (fitting with the lore pretty well, actually) at which point he has the better end game by far.

>>
>>121267684
Well, blood magic in dominions tries to have a price or double edged sword aspect. Given the deal was to incorporate demons into their worship, I thought it was a potential way of having a cost related to that.

Could always cut their preaching efficiency and temple spread rates, and/or decrease the number of candles in their provinces, but that feels too easy to mitigate.

There's probably going to be like 50 turns of play left, I'd say, and unless everyone else really does feel like it's over and would just be doing their turns to get them done, I think that it's worth continuing. I don't own half the map, and I only just got my end game magic.

Also, I haven't been saying that I've been at a disadvantage just to whine about how hard the multifront war was or be smug about scripting my armies correctly. When the score graphs are revealed, I think that the research chart will be pretty telling. Marignon had angels and artifacts long before I had any magic path researched to 8. The game has been a series of 'just in time' research for me, with my needing to go to great lengths to avoid fighting literally unwinnable battles. Marignon had firestorm well before I had fire fend, and at one point I needed to gateway out an army to prevent a fat stack of sacreds from being wiped out when they were cornered.

Marignon's recent loss in the field marks the first time that he has a military disadvantage, assuming that he can't just replace that army right away. I'll admit that Sceleria is pretty much toast at this point, but if I were in Marignon's position there's no way I'd be considering surrender. If you really think there's absolutely no hope of beating me, do a throne check since it's possible for you to win without engaging me head on. Even if your odds of winning are slim, forfeiting before the game's decided is pretty unimpressive.

>>121267630
I just don't think that the game is anywhere close to as one sided as they're saying. I feel like I've been fighting an uphill battle for around half the game, and the second I crest that hill, they want to give up rather than play on from a difficult position

Yomi as a whole is a meme nation. Dai oni do okay with meme strats until somebody actually prepares for your SC drop and then it's over.

I'd say using dai oni as a mage support is an overall better and more reliable way, but yomi has no army to field outside of turmoil (unless you managed to massproduce shikome)

I consider yomi's main army to be their mages honestly. With 20 oni generals spamming Horde of skeletons and support from death summons you can do okay. Odds are this is the same person posting over and over.

I am good. I've won multiple games. I just think that if you commit to a strategy and then go off and test it, you're effectively cheating. And in fact I enjoy playing in a way, that while not optimally effective, keeps parts of my hand concealed well enough that 'endless testers' get mad because I didn't let them just grind their way to victory.

I want to be defeated by smart play, not by some guy spending 10 hours until his face smashing finally results in something that isn't shite. It's like saying that it's okay to just keep trying until you win. Instead of having your best go at it, and the other person doing the same. Why not just edit the .trn file so you get free gold or whatever. Seems roughly the same.
>>
>>121278778
Hiding part of your army and changing your scripts isn't suboptimal, imo, even if it marginally reduces your chances at any given point. It's not just testers that are beaten by that kind of thing - an experienced player can know how to counter what you're fielding just as well as a new player that needs to run a test to know what those units do, so having a surprise up your sleeve will foil both of them just as well.

I also don't think that there's anything wrong with testing if you're new, though. An experienced player can know what will happen when two armies fight and can prepare a counter to the enemy's script upon seeing it. A newer player needs to actually run a test to know what will happen since they don't know how effective a given set of battlefield spells will actually be.
>>
>>121278778
How can you even compare testing to cheating? This is not some roguelike or stuff. You might as well play against an experienced player who will know a potential counter for your every move.
>>
I'm buying another 10 lightless lanterns if anyone got any to sell.
>>
>>121279832
Because even experienced players are limited by their toolsets and prediction
>>
>>121281286
And testers, somehow, aren't limited by that?
>>
>>121281286
Please, tell me what's the difference between the scripting of super experienced player and a new guy who tests shit.

I'd surely bet on the experienced player. He knows what's good against different army compositions, and he probably prepared his shit in advance while the new guy will probably have a shitty start and shitty army. Why do you think that testing shit is cheating again?
>>
>>121281632
No, but it kills the game mood
>>
There's literally no viable argument against putting effort into your turns. More effort is always better.
>>
>>121281736
Because you don't need any skill if you obsessively test stuff over and over to get perfect expansion.
>>
>>121282032
How can testing even help you with expansion? That's some silly shit, m8. Scouting info is not accurate at all. You can get 20 heavy cavs out of nowhere and get buttblasted.
>>
>>121282228
Scout reports aren't super inaccurate, although you have to have basic knowledge of province types. Slinger provinces often have elephants for example
>>
>>121282032
And you can get the same advantage by having played 1000 games and knowing exactly what you need to expand by experience. Testing is just putting in a lot of effort at once to get the same knowledge.
>>
>>121283098
It creates a false dichotomy in skill. A new player who constantly tests everything isn't the same as a new player who doesn't

It depends on the era, but birds usually want to cast storm at the start of their fights anyways for their main armies, so it helps them out by saving them the gem and the mage turn. It still hurts their mobility, though, especially for their raiding parties that were't going to use storm anyways. It also prevents them from using tactics involving turn 2 or turn 4 storm to get their fliers on the enemy backline, but that's relatively less common.

>>
>get a SC

GG
>>
>>121304291
Is this a throne? One answer, if you can make it is a lightning resistant wraith lord - copper plate + storm spool / ring work. The bonuses stack. To make sure that you also have high prot, stone boots will help too. Then you just need to clear out the regular units, so something like a brand and vine shield will work great. Have him cast Rigor Mortis and Soul Vortex. If you don't have stone boots, add Invulnerability. The Rigor Mortis will prevent the pretender from spamming illusions until the turn timer, and the wraith lord will clear out everything eventually as they throw themselves at him.
>>
>>121304840
an alternate method is a Charcoal Shield. Assuming you're tough enough to not die without a vineshield (and a wraithlord should be) Fire Shield will instagib phantasmal warriors and do a number on anything else that attacks you as well.

>>
>>121306115
well, if it's literally just springhawks and a titan you can probably kill it with literally any lightning-immune thug, provided they can 1v1 the titan if it comes into melee

If you put on Copper Plate spring hawks literally can't hurt you (barring RNGmiracles) so hell, even a Commander with Copper Plate and a Frost Brand could clear out the hawks, after which you can just bring in 40 dudes to kill the titan

>>
>>121327421
Maybe, but fomoria also is extremely potent in game. They've got firbolg infantry, which are very respectable, fomorians for the cheapest meat this side of Agartha, sailing (!!!) amphibious sacred giants (!), and out of the box SCs that can cloud trapeze.

Unmarked are almost never worth recruiting. Expansion maybe, but outside of it they are a really mediocre with any kind of bless. With typical N9 they are just a fat meatshield, but fomoria could buy meatshield giants for half the price of unmarked.
The main issue with recruitment of unmarked though is that they cut into your nemedian supply. And those guys have far more value.

>>121354549
>Nemedians are good units,
>depends on a lot of things
Nemedians are your best units statwise and they blend perfectly with national magic paths. They are always worth using, the only time they lose in efficiency is when they are facing a horde of demons with magic weapons, and even then they do better than unmarked and firbolg combined forces.
>>
>>121355634

They are pretty fucking awful considering their price, hp and general stats. Whats your reasoning for ever using them? Magic weapons? Surely not their hp, def, str, prot etc.
>>
>>121356661
Magic weapons, dark vision on elite troop statline.
Fomoria has no issues casting darkness and stygian rains and gets those spells in research paths they want anyway.
Nemedians only falter against the units that happen to have dark vision and magic weapons which are fairly limited in numbers. And even then they maintain their elite status.

>considering their price, hp and general stats
If you are using combined force of unmarked + firbolg, you are paying 68 gold + bless price per square.
I'd argue that using a combined force of fomorian warriors + nemedians would give you pretty much the same or even better statline per square for 60 gold and no need for bless. (That's if i actually considered combined arms strategy to be efficient.)

Yeah, it was. It went in favor of Bogarus. Now is the second round.

>>121377413
At least I have attacked his most valuable Throne after he captured it near my border. So I tried to stop him.

And what others done? You was sitting still, yeah you were under my pressure, but that is not an excuse, because I have at least TRIED to resist him and you haven't even attacked his Throne near you. Moreover Bogarus even told me that he sold him some E gems so he can protect his Throne with Wizard Tower.
You have let him win, not me.

The same may be said towards Man and Ulm. Man haven't even attacked Bogarusian Throne in HIS FUCKING CAP CIRCLE. And Ulm haven't do anything about Throne NEAR his cap circle. What a loosers.

>>121378012
At least I have done something to kill Lemuria. I almost captured his cap. Yet, I fight him almost alone. Bogarusian input was very scarce. Our efforts at best may be counted in 1/5 ratio in my favor.

Bogarus was really good. I have fough only strong rivals (Caelum, Lemuria). And he just took advantage of incompetent players and easily grabbed their (territorially) Thrones.

SOOO, Shut the fuck up, loosers. It's me who was the runner up, so I know what's up.
>>
>>121376953

Just to make sure everyone knows I'm a different Bogarus.
I was Bogarus is a different game, but not Fashionably late.

And this map is really cozy. I feel like we'll all be great friends. no one would want to spoil that friendship right?

Also, WTF Midgard.
>>
>>121378746
No, Pythium. You actively teamed up with Bogarus and this allowed him to win. You even told me so through messages.

M8, it doesn't matter that you were runner up or whatever. You lost like the rest of us because of your hubris. I even wanted to give you gems for a truce. What did you say about that?

"It took me so much hard work to capture that one fort from you, so I reject your offer"

Truth is, you wasted your troops on me and let him win. Simple as that.

Is Midgard sitting on like double everyone else's provinces? Because Midgard can do that. An expansion party every turn ain't no joke.
>>
>>121378895
Midgard is apparently bullying people as he stales so...that's probably why he is attacking you jomon and gath. or some combination I'm in my own world of friendship right now.
>>
>>121378952
And so what that I was friends with him? Yes, we have cooperated a lot. So as with Man and Abysia until it went AI. And so what? I have assaulted his Throne when I have understood that he is probably got enough VP. And what have YOU done?
Cooperation is the matter of diplomacy. And protecting Throne IN YOUR CAP CIRCLE or near it is the matter of sanity.

I wanted to win too, so I hoped to take VP from dead Lemuria. But I was in need of 20-30 more turns for that. Bogarus was much faster.

>>121378967
What do you mean? I killed Caelum and have done a lot of harm to Lemuria, being far behind him in research at some point. It was matter of time until I could finish him off (yet if Ulm won't ivaded me). But there was no time.

>>121379204
Only your Thrones could allow me to win. Why I have to fight Bogarus, my ally, while my enemies still alive and well?

>>121379228
I was the fucking king. Runner up was in fact Bogarus itself. And without proper resistance he have stole enough VP and won. I have prised him for that. GG, really.

It was the previous player who attacked him, not other way around.
You could have stopped the war, but instead you just have lost soundly and went AI. And your Thrones helped him to win.
Yes, part of the blame lies on the previous Abysia. But you fucked up your fair share yourself.

>>
>>121379769
>Only your Thrones could allow me to win. Why I have to fight Bogarus, my ally, while my enemies still alive and well?
So, not the thrones of Abysia that went AI? Not the throne that Ulm took from you? Not Man's throne (who was arguably the weakest and newest player)?

Maybe because I couldn't access any more thrones and win in the short term? Maybe because everybody clearly told you that Bogarus is going to win and should be stopped? I mean, our war crippled us both, but you still had more resources than me (being able to actually recruit mages). You could've stopped him easily, especially with my help or at least without my interference.

Your tactical prowess is undisputed, but your strategic decisions were careless.
>>
>>121380282
Ghost really need to be killed fast. In Miles Gloriousus now Ermor riding atop of everyone just because he wasn't under heavy pressure when it was needed. Lemuria basically is the same. It's an Iron rule. And so what? Bogarus tried to do something, but seeing that others are easy prey you both just eventually get along and even started some trade (btw, how can you explain the fact that you helped Bogarus to build Wizard Tower over all his Thrones). And Ulm was turtling ALL THE FUCKING game, he haven't removed you, he haven't stoped Bogarus, he 'did nuffin wrong'.

At least I tried to perform something. I killed Caelum, I have assaulted Lemuria. But everyone just let Bogarus take their clay and win the game. And you, Lemuria, too. You was so shitlessly scared of me so you even forgot about Bogarus at all.

Well, everyone got what they deserved.

>>
>>121381025
>You was so shitlessly scared
Where did you get that impression? I killed everything that Bogarus sent against me, and I didn't have enough resources for scouts (basically, I had 0 in every province where I could've potentially recruited them), and I didn't want to waste death gems for black servants. And it was you who told me "I'm monitoring some thrones in case Bogarus tries something". I guess you're just not very good at monitoring.

And it's "you were". I was, he was, she was, you were, they were.
>>
>>121380879
Well, I may have been wrong strategically, I am not arguing about that. But I had my own reasoning.

I decided to part world between me and Bogarus, and start to act separately. So it was a race: who can faster gain enough VP from others without actual support to each other.
That was a failure since you and Caelum gave me far more headache than Man, Ulm and Abysia to Bogarus. Well, yep, it was mistake.

BUT, if I have attacked Bogarus all of a sudden then I've got exposed to all my alive rivals like Ulm and Lemuria. I can not start a new war without finishing previous one. And moreover I gave some resistance, I have tried to take some VP from him. But it was also a failure, his Research was skyhigh.
>>
>>121381650

But I have decide to actually take your Thrones from you (they all gave D income too). I hoped that Ulm and Man will protect thir closest Thrones. Oh, that was a huge mistake, they both appeared to be incompetent at all at that. As I said, I put my fair share in preventing him from winning without actually invading him. But since others contribute nothing everything was futile.

I can't but say it is an awkward sight
To see one's native land receding through,
The growing waters; it unmans one quite,
Especially when life is rather new:
I recollect Great Britain's coast looks white,
But almost every other's country's blue,
When gazing on them, mystified by distance,
We enter our nautical existence.

--

Spirits of ocean's daring kings! who sleep
In hidden realms, beneath the pathless wave :
Come from the coral mansions of the deep,
Where the waters, round the chieftain's grave,
Unconscious hide the remnants of the brave:
Arouse ! ye phantoms of the seas! and tell
The secrets of your home, whose breakers lave
Proud Albion's shore, and 'gainst her cliffs rebel,
Yet guard the favoured isle, where once their warriors fell.

Wow, even your images suck. Confirmed worthless person.

Don't use etymology or linguistics improperly to try to prove your worthless points. English has general conventions with many exceptions to those rules, especially with loan-words, which plebeian is. Technically, it's not even english - it's fucking Latin. It's like someone saying 'pardonnez-moi', they're dipping into an understandable part of another language to either sound fancy or subtly convey something (like sarcasm) to the listener.

The study of language is hard enough without shitters like you trying to co-opt it to make your failed points.
>>
>>121387821
>about half the time
That half is when you're preserving the integrity of an individual morpheme. When joining morphemes, especially a general English morpheme to a loaned one, the English rules for the joining is used.

I think you seriously overestimate the amount of time it takes to test something in this game. It takes around 5 minutes to replicate the armies on a custom map, and another 5 to set up the scripts and run the simulation. It takes much more time figuring out what script to use, which is time that would be spent without the testing anyways.

I've also never had to test more than two scripts for a battle, so I don't know where the brute force meme is coming from. You still need to figure everything out ahead of time, the testing just lets someone that isn't sure how effective a given setup will be have the same knowledge that someone who has played the game longer already has. If you've already played a game using similar armies, testing does literally nothing for you.

More like a good half hour if isn't just national troops.

Time hath forgotten in his ceaseless toil, -

Too long of dull forgetfulness the spoil:
Avaunt, Oblivion! on Britannia's soil

Mid crimson slaughter spurned "this mortal coil;"
Or, near her shores, below the boiling foam
Of ocean's maddening waves, sought their eternal home.

Let's talk about Thunderstriking. What sort of armies would you field against, say, Caelum with a bunch of thunderstrikers behind corpse constructs with some archers and other living units thrown in? I'm not actually going up against it in any of my games, so I don't have a particular nation in mind for what the 'counter' army should comprise of, but thunderstrike spam always struck me as a very versatile tactic.

I've made so many stupid mistakes, but I seem to still be alive because my neighbors leave me alone for some reason. So many wasted gems on pointless spells and fragile experimental thugs.

Well, looks like this is picking up a little interest. I'll throw something up in a few. Any other mods to go with, or is just Cataclysm mod alone good?
>>
>>121397551
I had an Idea to make a Master of Magic game (basically, add one custom spellcaster and a hero to every nation and limit dominion to 5, and paths to 8 to enforce "spellcaster" pretenders or something), but I didn't have much time to do that AND change Faerun map to be compatible with thrones.

Let's go with basic shit, I guess.
>>
>>121397551
The main mods that people like to always use aren't really cataclysm-compatible. Chocolate Thrones might be fun though, since the game is random as fuck anyway.

>>121398362
You got very lucky. A stack of 20 werewolfs is going to eat through most non superstacked pd
>>
>>121398436
There's no "good" Faerun map. Only the remake of the one from Dom3. It doesn't have rivers, mountain passes (which is super critical when you can basically be trapped from turn one), and thrones. It has hardcoded heavily-defended VP locations.
>>
>>121398609
You lost thirty provinces and all your sitesearchers are dead.
>>
>>121398610
It's not meant to stop werewolves (although it stopped one stack, and 15 PD sometimes stops them too, depending on the PD type), only dogs and shit. I prepared to retake most of my provinces with my armies too, but it wasn't necessary.

>>121398668

No, just the few specific ones trigger attacks like that. Gaia, beasts, war (barbarian attacks), bones (skeletor attacks) are the ones I rememeber. Might be a few others, but rare.
