Debating Joining The Awakened because about 10 of the 17 boons are good, and I wanna gamble for things like Cartogripfication, Bank Bribery, and Quest Refresh -even though I'm out of cookies and want to get a Training FC- later.

That said, Wheel boon can be good dosh with Wheel of Mediocrity, maybe Excitement, and patience with Monotony. Extravagance/Extortion is luck, as is Knowledge.

Both Thieves and Brutes offer Scratch Master, and many Scratch cards sell for more than their Kiosk Price.

If you restock, Thieves also gives you Five-Finger Discount, giving you 10% off in NPC shops.

I don't restock, and Scratchcards are too gambly for me, though.

The simple explanation is that you need to do at least 10 Battles to be eligible for Boons.... But how the winners are decided isn't quite known. Maybe it's random, maybe it's hand-picked, maybe it's based on the total "power level" of the foes your faction beat, or just how many enemies.

AFAIK, the win conditions aren't known to the public.


Frankly, I strongly advise doing more than the minimum 10 if you want them boons. At least 100.


As for what the Boons are: If your faction wins, you get your pick of 1 of 5 Boons. The Awakened has random ones, all the others have pre-determined Boons.
You also get the Avatar and Site theme for your faction IF your faction wins.

If you don't win, you get a consolation prize item from a prize pool that you can check out on the guide I linked. So yeah. You probably wanna do lots of fighting.

Anyone else ever picture stuff happening in their Dailies, trying to imagine it?

Picturing this scene in my head, it seems pretty surreal.

So.... The Altador Council Daily was broken for a little bit. Seems like JS might have been fooling around with something, if it wasn't just some strange bug.

Considering that Neopets has its birthday in the middle of November, this seems suspicious.

Remember, last year, for Neopets's birthday they introduced a lot of new changes/mechanics.

Vandagyres, the Trading Post NP max offer was raised to 2,000,000 NP, the Auction House's max offer to 50,000,000 NP, birthday cupcakes, the Ruki became limited edition, and they introduced Shops Clearing, which, annoying as it [Shops Clearing] may be sometimes, is a pretty good thing.

Oh, also for the birthday, JS added new prize pools to some Dailies, and added new Avatars, and new site themes.
They surveyed on the playerbase around that time, too.

They may not be doing things ideally, but they have made SOME improvements.

What do you expect they'll give us and do for the Birthday of Neopets this year, /npg/?

My best guess is they were being cautious. It was new management, they were doing surveys and stuff, and hadn't been in control for long.
They probably weren't sure if the Vandagyre was going to be popular, but they felt, maybe for "balancing things out" and/or making the Vandagyre somehow seem more popular -"Move aside, other pet species, the Vandagyre is coming through! With us around, the choices are too good to leave you freely createable, Rukis!"- by making another pet Limited Edition.

Frankly, I don't like Vandagyres that much, but I'm also the owner of a Ruki -I created it years ago, and keep it because nostalgia- and can see some appeal in Vandagyres.... So I'm not sure if they were "successfully" introduced.

In any case, I'm guessing they picked the Ruki because it's pretty low-middle-ish in popularity, and AFAIK, is consistent in that, so they probably thought it a safe choice to make Limited Edition; If it was a more unpopular pet, people might go "WHY is such an awful pet LE?!" -Even though some of us kinda did do that, or are still doing it to this day.- and if it was a popular one, I'd bet people would be pretty angry at JS. Plus, exclusivity like with Draiks and Krawks and their owners and such.

Daily Puzzle answer today is "Darkness Scarab" as the picture shows, among other info.

Grenegg was last priced at about 1,125 NP on September 26th, 2015. It deals 3 Earth and 3 Light icons and for some reason is apparently a Multiuse weapon. How that works, I don't know.

Every Crafting Faerie Request requires 2 items, both costing 75 NC, buyable in the NC Mall, with no purpose.
What items she requests tells you what item you'll get for completing it.
Every item she can award is not only wearable, and exclusive, but also seem to change seasonally.
There's a good chance some Crafting Faerie Quest wearables are now both nonexistent and unobtainable.


So yeah. If you're looking for new customization options, next time you get Delina, see what she asked you for, see what you get, and then consider if you can afford to spend the 150 NC you'll need for the quest during whatever season it is when you get your quest.

Dubloons have limited use. They can be used for Academy Training... but Dubloon vs Codestone prices and free training on Pet Days and Neopets' upcoming birthday aside, Mystery Island Training School is much faster.

There's Little Nippers, but AFAIK, their value is consistent AND kinda low.

The Smuggler's Cove hadn't anything for ages until the Maractite Bomb was released a while back.... And while it sold for millions of NP each, it still cost 250 Dubloons, and that's IF you could restock one.
The Smuggler's Cove has no items for sale for now; Gotta wait until something new is released, if ever.

Lastly, for the gamblers here, there's the Golden Dubloon. It can be a fun use of Dubloons, and is one of the few ways to get "change" or lower denomination Dubloons from higher ones, since the Dubloon-O-Matic only converts groups of Dubloons into higher ones.

The Golden Dubloon can be profitable with some luck, but you need a little knowledge and luck. Your goal is to go home with leftovers; Your ordered items are eaten by your Neopet(s) and many, if not all of them are highly valuable, and Gourmet Foods, worth Gourmet Points. But "eating" there gets you no Gourmet points, nor do they go to your inventory, "leftovers" aside.
Hence, getting those precious, gourmet foods into your inventory, requires gambling on getting leftovers.

As for WHY Dubloons are so cheap? Anchor Management Daily and the new Battledome; The Maraquan Battledome's prize pool is one of the most "shallow", and has Dubloons in addition to Codestones, Bottled Faeries, and overall, less junk. Hence, it's used a lot, and a lot more Dubloons have entered the economy.
