I've seen a lot of reviewers going crazy about it and calling it "10/10 best game ever", which itself is a bit intriguing but suspicious as well. But just get me straight, I haven't played it so I can't fairly judge it, but from the outside it looks like some another indy "retro" nostalgia bait shit made by some homecuck kid with the only selling point being "lel you can use diplomacy and not kill everyone, not like in any other game" and some jokes and funny arts.

Eh the most nostalgia filled thing it has is that the overall atmosphere is a lot like MOTHER. Doesn't really directly reference it, just feels like it sometimes.
The main neato gamplay gimmick is the fact that combat is a light bullet hell mixed with an rpg and you don't have to kill anyone, or you can kill literally everyone. The issue is that the story is really heavily based on subverting expectations, so telling you about it is a disservice. Hell me telling you it is about subverting expectations is a spoiler.

Most people like it because the combat is fun, the characters are pretty nice, and the way that the choices you make actually matter in the story makes it interesting to play. I say it is worth it.

The pixel art is used for a simplistic style as well as making a certain twist hit way harder, and not for retrobait.
The humor is well done outside of the 3rd zone, which has one funny character and one character who's either funny or fucking awful depending on who you are.
The diplomacy mechanic is actually the 2nd easiest path, with the neutral being easiest and pure genocide being a major grind due to the theme of the whole thing as well and containing two of the most difficult bosses in the game.
It's a good game nigga, go pirate it and try it out for yourself instead of getying spoiled or being a faggot who forms opinions based off /v/ buzzwords.
