I was thinking about the voice that speaks to you whenever you get a Game Over--the one that tells you to "Stay Determined" and talks about how "our fate is in your hands..." And after completing a Genocide Run....I think the answer is that it's definitely Chara .

Now, what got me thinking is the dialogue Asriel has when you go to the very beginning of the game on the completion of a successful True Pacifist run. He says something along the lines of "Be nice....and don't die." .

I wonder if that's a clue to anything? Is the reason why he says that is because he knows that Chara is possessing you? Is that an indication that your deaths are somehow intrinsically linked to it?

He then says your guidance helped him realize the purpose of his reincarnation. Perhaps on a pacifism run, he's still in a similar position, and believes he's been brought back to seek out the perfect ending.

Reminder that Toriel is not sinless. When she became queen of the monsters, she accepted a certain responsibility to lead and guide her people on the best path for them.

She abandoned that responsibility when she ditched Asgore and left the entire monster world to fend for itself.

Toriel has Asgore wrapped around her little finger. She could have talked him into doing whatever she wanted. But no, she abandoned her responsibility as queen, and to the man she married because she disagreed with the one bad choice (and possibly first real decision as king he ever made by himself) and couldn't be bothered to help him see the light. Because of this childish stubbornness, she would have doomed the entire race of monsters.

She plants the idea that Asgore is a villain in your head as you leave the ruins, and does not bother explaining the motivations behind any of his actions.Why? What motivation could she possibly have to not inform a child she apparently cares about so much about the situation monsters are faced with?

She wanted Asgore to die. Then, as she does in many of the neutral endings, she would swoop in and take the reins once more now that her petty disagreement with her ex-husband is no longer a factor. She couldn't be bothered to care until Asgore wasn't around anymore. That's how much of a bitch she is.

She even scolds Asgore for not being proactive enough about killing humans, because he could have left at any time and actively sought out people to kill! Would she really have been alright if he did this? If so... WHY DID SHE TRY TO STOP FRISK FROM LEAVING THE RUINS IN THE FIRST PLACE? She has no respect for the sacrifices that were made, only for what she sees as right. After all, "she knows what's best for you". Says it in her description

My take on it is that Chara wasn't evil or a sociopath. He probably cared quite a bit about his monster family, and monsters in general. once again there seems to be confusion over "Chara"/<NAME> so i am reposting this:

<NAME> is the player character that YOU habitually roleplay in other RPGs:
