So how did the monster world develop to what it is today anyway? I mean, almost all the monsters hate humanity, even if only out of obligation, and are well aware that it's because of them that they're stuck in the Underground. And yet it's obvious that the monsters over time have adapted pretty much every single element of human culture and technology they know of into their own society. They build homes using human architectural designs and aesthetics, their entertainment either is or is based on what humans make, they have an interest in eating human food despite having no need for it, they have their own internet, etc.

Now maybe you can claim that it was necessary for them to do this because the underground is cut off from the rest of the world and the human garbage dump is their only means of acquiring anything new to progress their own society. But still, monsters can use magic and yet they end up using human technology that, given their abilities, would be redundant or even outright obsolete? Why do Toriel and Asgore even OWN a stove if they just prefer using fire magic anyway, just to name one example? This isn't just a case of doing what they need to survive, the monsters are willingly appropriating human culture and technology as an integral part of their lifestyles for what seems like no reason at all. Despite ostensibly resenting humanity (understandably so) for attempting to wipe them out and locking them underground forever.
