Status is better in groups, Element is decent all round.
It usually depends on the monster you're hunting and who you're hunting with;
A poison SnS will generally always be appreciated for Daora hunts, as will a para one for Monoblos.

Relics are entirely optional gear you obtain by defeating the hardest monsters in the game. It offers tons of replayability. There is no downside you idiots, especially when crafted weapons can be honed and are the only weapons for TA.

The drop rates are so damn low that hame basically becomes the only viable way of obtaining more than one.
Solo players are shafted entirely.

Not to mention there simply isn't enough diversity in the monsters you can hunt and still get decent amounts of relics.

Hunting Rajang and 3 other monsters thousands of times for months is not my idea of fun.

Woah, the Nerscylla Gunlance is something else. I like how different it is. Can't really understand how it could even remotely work (telescopic stick, probably hollow with the external axe part sliding, but still the inner part should be hollow to let the gun shell fire). How hard are nerscylla part so that this thing doesn't even budge when hitting or firing. Some of this weapon design are far too cool.
