Catapult is nice, but nothing beats Bane 3 for hilarity. The original Bane is fun too, even if it's not missile based. Bane is such a fun mech. Stupid but fun.

Much slower placed. Less customization in many ways but still generally full custom loadouts. Massively better designs, at least when it comes to the actual versions used in games. Generally far more simulationist games. A far more unique setting all-round.

Of course you have to keep in mind the last main mechwarrior release came out the same year as fucking Armoured Core 2.
