The Switch is doing well enough on its own. I don't have one yet but i may get one at some point. Honestly though I've really been into handhelds lately. I know the Switch is a middle ground but I've just been using my 3DS and Vita lately since I'm always on the go. It was fine. Pretty disappointing to see literally no new first party Switch reveals though. Honestly I'm happy that Smash Deluxe probably isn't coming. Mario Odyssey, Kirby, and Octopath all look great. Xenoblade worries me. Bethesda seems to really be pushing with third party support which is odd but fine I guess. I got exactly what I expected. I would've liked to see Prime and Zelda's DLC, but it's okay that I didn't.
Mario looks sick. Octopath looks rather good, as well.

I'm thrilled Xenoblade 2 got it's date and a tasty special edition, but I'm almost as happy with Octopath progressing along well enough to put out a demo.

DOOM and Wolfwenstein are surprises, and we finally learn about that Kirby game.

Don't really get this argument, thing is selling out most non European locations and is one of the cheapest consoles after inflation that has ever been made.

The 3DS is literally 6 years old and has like a 480p resolution, I'm not a graffix fag but this is a tough thing to make robust games for. It has a huge install base but so did the Wii 6 years after it came out.

I don't think its weird for them to keep things going on 3DS for a bit though. They really lowered the price ($99 for reg. 2DS, $150 for nu xl 2ds since no one really care for 3DS anymore) for one and its a decent budget machine. Sure people can pirate but I really don't think 3DS piracy is as rampant as DS piracy. I'm a collectfag and even I have a DS flash cart that I used back in the day. Hardly anyone I know, even friends who also had DS flash carts, has pirated games on 3DS. Same here. Just don't really care and would rather just support what I want to. But even then I think they are doing ok without it. The hardware is old though so who knows how long they'll really keep it. As much as I love the 3DS library, the minute I turn on my Vita I'm always reminded of the 3DS's age

The Wii U was already a failure in its first year. The Switch is a more capable, versatile, and appealing console with a brighter future. The 3DS is going to be 7 years old soon and the hardware is shitty as fuck. It also doesn't support local multiplayer off the one system like the Switch can.

Yeah, I see people begging for Smash 4 and I get it, a "Deluxe" version would make sense because it had a fair ammount of DLC but I think Nintendo may just wait it out with Smash. Regardless of everyones opinion on the more recent smash game. Each Smash game has been a system seller for its respective console. I think they'd want to really go all out for Smash 5. what ever it ends up being. Mario Kart 8 makes sense to have a Deluxe version because you really can't do much to change up Mario Kart.
