He does that because the time when it was profitable to advertise oneself as "angry nerd who is mad about games" is long gone. All reviewers who got big with the whole "IM GONNA TAKE SOMETHING I HATE AND SHIT ON IT FOR EVERYONE TO SEE" have these days mellowed out and shifted focus to doing actual normal reviewing, see RedLetterMedia, AVGN and the like.

I agree but with the case of AVGN the transition was pretty quiet and was mostly replaced by slower quality content made by Rolfe (I like most of his videos when he talks about something he's passionate about) , the rest of the videos made by Mike and other fatso are pure trash and basically are circlejerks about Nintendo blind fanboysm and shitty/uninteresting gameplay/commentary on things that have already been talked a gazillion times.
Those two retards can be really boring and if the AVGN channel eventually dies we already know who will be the culprit.

Red Letter Media was more awkward but they couldn't survive on Plinkett alone.
What I disliked is the fact that they nearly completely dropped Plinkett in favor of easier content with hundreds of submissions of "more of the same thing" about two guys talking about a movie.
Trash in the Bag is still pretty bad in my opinion but since they survived thank to that format I might be wrong.
