Videogames cost an extortionate amount to make and are a gamble, if noone likes it for whatever reason then its enough to sink an entire company, on one product alone. Why take the risk when you can release something that you KNOW people will like, while applying minimal effort and almost no legwork coming up with a concept and execution. The soloution is to make cheap games, I dont mean shit games and indie shit, I mean limit your fucking budget, AAA has set a standard that people expect of games now, and those standards are not actually that beneficial to making a good game, things like graphics and advertising are where at least 70% of the entire budget goes, and they do not at all make the game a good game. We need to go back to being limited, and working around a budget creatively rather than just pushing it upwards when a problem is encountered, which in turn makes errors into critical failure, which means everyone is stepping lightly and not taking risks and innovating.

I don't understand what's wrong with people letting a company know they want a game on a certain system. This isn't the same situation as people begging for P5 or another exclusive. This game is already a multiplat.

The biggest problem is that they pick the most popular old game that is easy to emulate and already had tons of re releases instead of picking a game that people want and is only available on a single platform which you cannot emulate.
PS2 is not that old, it's dirt cheap, easy to soft mod and if not then I can always play the PS3 version or emulate.
Okami on PS4 is just shitty cash grab instead of giving an actual "new" old release rather then picking the most overrated game that you can get.
