Jesus Fuck, the reason why HW was so good is because everyone was unique. There's, what, Link's sword, zelda's rapier, ganondorf's twin swords, girahim, zant's scimitars, young link, Impa's giant blade and toon link who ALL play extremely different.

Meanwhile, the game with a ton of potential of this gets squandered with clone after clone after clone. It's extremely disappointing to say the least.

My favorite part of this shitshow is how they fucked it up so hard everyone is disappointed with it. Even the people they were trying to pander to. Yet they still think they have a blockbuster title on their hands that will be successful enough to get a sequel.

Hyrule Warriors managed to work with a much smaller roster and a small array of weapons because they were able to imagine all sorts of different movesets for them. That in addition with nostalgia for the characters gave it the charm and hype it needed.

FE Warriors has to work with the preestablished "realistic" weapons compared to HW, and so they play it safe by dumping all the royals and everyone else in the game. The movesets aren't as inspired as the ones in HW, and there's no real excitement as you're playing characters you've already played as before.

Whereas HW had hype growing as its released neared (along with criticism about its roster), FE's has diminished and soured. It was such a simple concept for KT, and they fucked it up so badly that we're probably not going to see a sequel.

I love the historical revisionism with Hyrule Warriors. Everybody here expected it to be shit and it absolutely was, up until they started going apeshit with the DLC. People were beyond pissed off that they went out of their way to make a Great Fairy moveset instead of including more fan-favorite characters or at least a different weapon. People were annoyed that Lana summoned the Moon and Skull Kid was nowhere to be found. People were enraged that Cia and her cronies weren't even playable.

The small roster sucked and having no WW or MM reps sucked harder, but you're exaggerating how pissed people were. At most it was the normal irritation, but for the most part everyone ranged from pleasantly surprised to just okay with it. It took them too long to get the koei trio out and even longer for the other characters to be introduced through DLC.

The only thing people really hated about the initial roster was Lana and her KIRAKIRAKIRAINNN shit. Everyone else was cool for the most part, except for maybe Agitha.

If this leak is real it makes everything they've said completely retarded and full of lies. They initially said the game was Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates and that it wasn't a gathering of heroes. Yet here's Lyn and Celica. So this actually is a gathering of Heroes. And it also begs the question of why they would specify Shadow Dragon as a focus point when it only has three (3) characters. That's only one more than the number of OC donut steels and the same number of extra characters from other series when you include Anna. What's even more baffling is why they would wait less than two weeks before release to reveal Lyn and Celica (possibly less than a week if they wait until TGS). It's been months. People who don't like or have any strong attachment to the newer games have written this off months ago because it offered nothing they care about. Yet if Lyn and Celica are in it means the developers seem think adding two characters the week of release will instantly bring their attention back.
