It's a crossover game anon, what were you expecting? The game is designed to be fun, not an amazingly well written masterpiece of a story that's going to stand the test of time.
I reckon P4's cast is truer to the source material because they were originally gag based whereas P3 was obviously a bit more serious, and not because they were better written in PQ then P3's cast.

Good choices of games, though Devil Survivor are probably the worst games in SMT series.

Did you play Souls Hackers? That one is pretty good and doesn't seems to be talked much about it.

Else I was hype for BD when it was announces, never finished the game, but it is pretty good, classic RPG with a good job system.

I bought Overclocked myself but I left it factory sealed for my collection and I played it undubbed on my hacked 3ds.
Devil Survivor 2 is also good, bravely default is not, dunno about persona q.
