No, the confirmation was actually an old statement from one of the devs from 2011, where he repeated for the millionth time why the Hero of Ferelden couldn't come back. Considering how DAI/Trespasser ended, a new character is the last thing the series need: the Inquisitor's story didn't feel finished at all and he/she is the only one who can logically hope to stop or redeem Solas. Bioware already worked on prosthetic animations, back when Bull was supposed to have a special cannon arm. That would actually improve the gameplay and add more customization options. They already said they didn't remove the Inquisitor's arm to stop them from fighting, but just to show that the Anchor can no longer be used.

How are they even gonna characterize them? Hawke had only three distinct personalities, while the Inquisitor is a blank sheet like the Hero. No way they can characterize the Inquisitor well without making a mess, it didn't work with Hawke, it can't possibly work with the Inqui.

Those who didn't follow Solas will hate him because the humans hate them even more, while those who followed him will either die or become unsufferably biased towards "the good old days". It's because the Old Gods are actually dragons of Mythal that she put down there to act as a bait against the original Blight created by the Titans during their war with the elves. If all the Old Gods/Archdemons die, the darkspawn will invade the surface.

Solas hates the Blight, because the false elven gods used it as a weapon, not caring about the consequences, and almost destroyed Thedas. He heavily implies that he locked the Blight away with them in the Black City ("An eternity of suffering is the only fitting punishment"). Then Corypheus and the others breached the Black City and unleashed the original Blight back into Thedas, while Mythal's dragons underground kept the remaining of it locked in the Deep Roads. That's why the Chantry states that the Taint came from the Fade, but the dwarves swear it's been in the Deep Roads since forever: both theories are right.

Solas isn't a bastard. The game and Trespasser in particular points out how much he values people's freedom and he never manipulates people, he just omits the truth. Also the Dalish knows who he is, so he must have pretty good proofs and reasons to convince them to trust him. And again, the modern elves ARE elves, they just aren't enlightened and are remembering things all wrong. Solas himself says that in order to help them, he can only tear down the Veil and reshape reality, otherwise he has no means to help the poor elves starving in the alienages or the Dalish roaming in search of a safe spot to rest.

The DLC as a whole were really good. They managed to get the whole Area-based story down really with Jaws of Hakkon, the Descent had some decent lore-bombs regarding the Deep Roads (plus the best version of the deep roads yet from a sheer visual level) and Trespasser had a really decent conclusion and sequel hook.

I think the big thing they need to do with the next game is not double back on how they've established Tevinter. It's a place with a ton of shitty people but with some good ones but those are far and few between in comparison.

Perhaps bring back some variant of the Origins from the original. I'd really like to play an asshole Magister. DAI was kind of lacking in that department, with the whole "Herald of Andraste" thing being forced onto your character, even if you play them strictly anti-Andrastian.

We don't know yet. Apparently they are enormous creatures bonded with the dwarves and they share a symbiotic link with them. The dwarves apparently "served" them and in exchange the Titans let them use magic, sense the Fade, and share a sort of hivemind. Drakon's prophecy states that they will rise again - "seven seventy men of stone immense". They are gonna kick the elves' asses, probably.

Pretty much nothing matters within the context of the game. Only the ending slides change, that's it. Also you will almost never be passing judgement, its a trivial part of the game.
