every time I buy the "red cutlass" I find it in the next level for free.

I don't have a current sword, so definitely not the cutlass since 0*2 is still 0. The other one will do negative damage but at least it can damage undead, which I assume negates the healing effect it will have on other foes due to it dealing less than 0 damage. So I'd go with the Silver Sword

Silver sword just seems like you're buying cheap to then not get as many kills an hour.

Red Cutlass obviously it has a property that makes it always deal twice as much damage as your current sword.

Silver sword says that it can damage undead, whereas red cutlass makes no such distinction, which implies it will cannot harm undead (in other words, a weapon needs to explicit say it can damage undead in order to do so). Barring any other unknown information (such as whether I have spells that can be used on undead, or whether I have any other weapons that can damage undead), then getting the silver sword is the only option. The cutlass will be literally useless up ahead, and I don't know if I have anything else to deal with undead.

I am guessing OP meant Silver sword gives bonus damage to undead? Even if it's not the case I'm sure you have a way to make undead vulnerable to conventional weaponry if only temporarly.

Best option is obviously the red cutlass since it doubles your dps and will be usefull outside of the graveyard. Money is not really a problem either since you will be regaining it, as long as you have enough for a couple of potions left in case of emergency I don't know why you wouldn't want to have the best possible equipement unless it's for cosmetic reasons.
